He is Bel Canto trained, this video always breaks my heart because he was eliminated from the program only after a few episodes, because people couldn't really accept a guy that sounded like he does ,now he is the biggest star in China. And he deserves because for so long he went unrecognized for his talent, people were focused on his gender and sexuality which really hurted him for a while. And the most amazing part about him is he can sing most genres from classic, pop,rock even rap ,he is amazing on delivering the emotions of songs and sings in various languages ❤
Actually, that could be a trick. When they recognize a big hit potential they eliminate that person early. The reason is two folds. One, cheaper to contract a loser than a champion. Two, that person can be prepped earlier without waiting for an entire season to end.

Such a hard worker who is constantly evolving as an artist. Always generous with anyone he collaborates with no matter how famous he is. He always works to highlight their strengths. The first judge who turned around was Qi Qin and the original singer of this song was his sister, Qi Yi, who sang this song in 1979. The song Huan Yan could be translated as Smiling Countenance and was also the original soundtrack of the movie with the same name.

After he switched major, he begged his favorite music professor there to take him on as his student but was refused several times. He never gave up and went again & again & again daily over 3 months. Finally his persistence & potential impressed the professor so much that he relented. Unfortunately that professor passed away a few years ago without telling ZS of his illness. Subsequently ZS flew there to pay his respects at his grave site. ZS was a shy & humble but has now morphed into a sharp-tongue, funny & still humble person, being more confident with time. He joined the Voice at age 21 but was eliminated by a female judge called NA Ying whom I greatly detest for her denigration of one prolific & excellent singer/composer who had composed >1500 songs, named Dao Lang aka Sharp Wolf, whose songs are wildly popular throughout China in the early 2000s. Daolang was the only singer whose single sold 270 million copies overnight in China without any agent or recording company . That female judge was insanely jealous and egoistic tho she has connections & influence. She thot ZS looked unappealing and has no charisma. Anyway, ZS is now 30 going in 31 but still looks like a high school kid. So glad he’s wildly successful. He’s constantly try to choose songs that are meaningful . He strives to be an inspiration to young people wherever he goes, and urges them to never ever give up their dreams, to persist and to believe in themselves. Dimash is better in terms of range and in terms of ability to play musical instruments. Zhou Shen is better in terms of colour and making you feel different emotions. Just my opinion of course. When I watch Dimash, I go wow at the showcasing. When I watch Zhou Shen, I feel sad or happy and immerse in the performance and enjoy fully.

Ability to switch styles at any given time? Wider tools and expressions to paint many different stories that deliver audiences to different world, not just two or three worlds but seemingly unlimited dimensions, by changing the tones, textures and quality of voices at will?

Zhou Shen has a pathology he didn't have a voice break. If you would watch for example Concerto pour deux voix you would hear his soprano.
