Today we're reacting to Zhou Shen. Zhou Shen is a singer from Guizhou China who became famous after performing on the Voice of China 中國好聲音. At first, we didn't know what to expect since Zhou Shen seemed like a pretty regular dude. First we had Zhou Shen Huan Yan / 周深 《欢颜》 This was in the third season or so of the Voice of China 中國好聲音 第3季 2014-07-25. Then we compared it with a recent performance he did of Memory. We wanted to see how different Zhou Shen became over the last couple of years. He was on a Chinese show called Ge Shou Super Vocal 歌手. Honestly, he's one of the best singers in China in our opinion - absolutely incredible. We hope you guys enjoy our reaction.

I didn't start talking until I was 7 to 8 years old. My mum told me that I was singing when i was at least 2 or 3 years old and singing was the only thing that got me to talk.
I was singing kpop at the age of 14 to 15 and im now 18 turning to 19 soon. She was surprised because it's in Korean and I didn't understand any single word they were saying but now I feel absolutely happy but emotional people I have special needs (memory problems and language speaking understandings) it's hard for me to understand and everything. I hope you three are okay ❤

By the way, Zhou Shen was studied in classical music aboard out of China when he was younger. He can speak at least 6 languages. He is a humble and funny and polite guy. His vocal range is very wide. Also, his breath control is very good. His goal is to combines classical and pop songs together to introduce to those who didn't know what classical music is.

请不要带着猎奇的眼光去看周深，超多的外国人都是带着欣赏的眼光的。他就是一个温暖阳光的男孩，还有被上帝赋予的独一无二的天籁之音，一个灵魂歌者。

He's a countertenor for sure. His voice is quite ethereal as if it comes from another sphere or dimension. I want to see him in concert if he ever comes to the States. Very special he is.

The first judge that turned the chair is 齊秦, he is the brother of the original singer of the song, 齊豫. So he know that song very well. And for him to turn the chair first speaks volume. Also this was Zhou first time showcasing his talent to the audience in China, while still a student at a well known Ukrainian musical school.
He is now one of the best singers in the country.

I got into the Untamed a short while ago and was listening to the Ost. Aside from the main track, the one sung by him caught my attention and easily became my favourite. But I was completely shocked when I later found out it was a guy's voice, not a female. Even now it still blows my mind how good he is.

Actually the intro before they played into the actual song Memory IS La Vie en Rose so they weren't wrong asking if it is La Vie en Rose.
Zhou Shen's voice can even cure depression!! There's a psychological instructor in China adopt his singing sample (in mid-low voice register) as a way of therapy for people with depression, and it actually works!! A girl said she recovered from depression and listening to Zhou Shen's songs helped her a lot in her healing process!!

周深 Charlie Zhou Shen was performing the 2nd song 'Memory ' in a show started in Nov18 called 'Super Vocal 声入人心 ' by Hunan Television, China.
The station hopes that the show will bring non-mainstream music genres, such as bel canto, (美声) closer to the audience. They gathered 36 young singers, most of them trained in classical music, to compete for 6 representative seats (首席) to go on stage in the next round. The final 6 will go on a national concert tour & release a full album at the conclusion of the show.
@@Eric-hr5cg ++ That is the best 🤗 concise summation of one of my fav music competition of 2018/2019. Super Vocal is not just a singing competition it is one with a difference. At the begining I clicked because of Henry's thumbnail but then i stayed because SV is just too Good not to. As you said ZS did really well in it and i got to know Ar yun ga, Wang zi, etc. In all these 36 are really good singers/ performers. SV is an excellent launchpad for them. Now i am waiting for the conclusion of Singer2019 comp where part of SV is holding their own position.
Boys, these shows do your nation proud BIG TIME. I'm a huge, huge, fan here, from Canada. Absolutely, love both "I Am A Singer" and "Super Vocal" and am absolutely, cracked over the Super Vocal Boys. All of them, but in particular, the latest OFFICIAL, group of guys to have that name. They have performed at this season's Singer show, and if you have not yet, you absolutely, have to check them out. They have signed with a record label and everything, so I am told. So we should be hearing a lot from them in the near future. HUGE, HUGE, fan of these boys. Can't wait for them to come to Canada. So hope they do a world tour in the near future as they SO, SO, deserve it.

Ya, I was noticing what I stated at the end of this. It was true at the time but I'm unsure if anything came of it though, sadly, which is truly, a crime as a number of these boys really, should be international, superstars, by now, that's how high and good I think their talent is.
You know Leanne; we can criticize the government of China until the cows come home, and rightly so in some respects I think; but no one in their right mind can criticize the super, awesome, talent that comes from this country. I have been a huge fan of Chinese Pop Culture for around, five years now, if not longer, their singing and acting in particular. What I love about Chinese and Asian Pop Culture and music in particular; is the awesome VARIETY, of it. They have not allowed themselves to become so totally, overrun and inundated with rap and hip-hop music as we, here, have done, which is why I'm such a fan. Truly, I don't believe Canada or the United States has ANYTHING, really, to compare with it. And when they do things, they do it BIG, with EVERYTHING, it seems.
I really, believe it's high time to start a movement in Canada and the United States to bring and promote Asian/Chinese pop music and culture here, in Canada, as well. I truly, believe that, as so many of these super awesome, and super talented, artist MORE, than deserve this. Correct?

Strongly recommend the TV program 《super vocal》 where Zhou Shen sang “Memory”. Zhou Shen is fantastic, he performs a lot of beautiful work in the stage.And there are other 35 talents in this show. If you guys prefer a deep voice, please try “sound of silence” sang by Wangxi, Liqi and Ju Hongchuan. The trio is amazing! I am sure you guys gonna love it!

I’ve heard him sing many times. He’s great. Very popular in China. I’m a Chinese person , western born and lived only in the west , USA, watch lots of c.dramas and k dramas to learn about Asian culture and lots of other Asian history and cooking, etc. just recently discovered the music. Some of the versions of American and British music are surprising excellent. Listen to some on u tube.

I got goosebumps as well when I first watched him... liked him since the first audition... his voice is so enchanting... just as he said once on the Mask Singer Show that he doesn’t want others to focus on how he looks like or other stuff, he only wants people to listen to his music because he really likes singing and sings every song with all effort and deeply devoted...👍🏻

You should check out his latest performance in the current music competition show! He transforms into a fun loving and entertaining guy with such amazing voice singing with Hacken Lee! I think Zhou Shen has so much to offer and if he has an excellent world class agent to manage him, he could be a world class singer/performer. The show is called 我們的歌！

The "Memory" performance is from a show called Super-Vocal (声入人心) and I could not recommend it more! There are 36 contestants, including Zhou Shen--all phenomenally talented. The show is geared toward musical theater and opera, and the singers are classically trained. You could pretty much choose any random solo, duet, trio, quartet performance from the show and be blown away. "The Sound of Silence", "鹿 be free", "Nel Blu, Dipinto Di Blu", "Grande Amore", "She Is My Sin", "Imagination" are just a few of my favorite performances!
Glad you guys are all so generous and unreserved to give this young singer compliments and are so open minded with that “height” topic.

that he has a female voice because
he is gifted with a “choir” voice of
a combination of children, male and female voices.
Listening to him singing opera arias
in his manly tenor voice and
and all his vocalisations in nearly
every song he sings.
He can sing female soprano coloratura style with any soprano.
Since he obtains a choir voices in himself, he can interchange his voice to suit the characters.

” Dalabenba 达拉崩吧”
“ Kabule Captain 卡布叻船长”
I had seen him singing opera arias
in the opera vocal university he got his training and in some of his interviews. Very good tenor voice trained in Ukraine!
He can sing more than 10 languages.

omg i'm currently watching produce camp 2021 wherein zhou shen is a mentor (that's where I knew him) and recently i've been watching your videos a lot so i'm shocked LOL i never expected to see zhou shen here... love the crossover
The show was more focused on finding talent in the opera and musical theater arena. So it was a good choice for Zhou to do Memory from Cats. His performance was near perfection and he even gave his competition the chills.
My heart stopped when they put one of the goblin songs as a suspense effect..... Geez I need to rewatch that drama!
