I use the same plow on a 2023 HD9. For doors I'm using Can-Am factory solid polly/glass doors. They are solid, with polly lower sections stay on all year round, and remove the sliding glass uppers in the warmer season. Good set-up.
I have a 2023 defender max lone star. My winch is factory mounted where your hitch is. I hit a small lip in the driveway today and instead it the plow folding forward it sheared off all the bolts. I’m hoping I can retap the winch holes and add larger bolts to keep this from happening again. I think this heavy of a plow set up needs more than 4 bolts to hold the plow mount to the frame.
Hi Mark I have also had this, I drilled out and installed slightly larger bolts keeping in mind that having a weak link somewhere prevents larger damage so I didnt go with large bolts
@@marksinclair5236 My apologies it was the bolts that mount the plow mount plate bolts I replaced, no problems with my winch as I have my winch up on my brush bar but if I understanding your winch mount I would drill out to the next size up and just use a nylock nut and bolt
So it's super hard to find all the pieces I need for my Defender online. Can-Am's site is just not good. I was super happy to find that you included every part number here, thank you! I want to install this plow but use the "Hydraulic Super Duty Plow Kit", SKU 715006038, to get the left-right articulation. I'm thinking I could accomplish this by buying the blade, push tube and this kit, and wouldn't need the HD plow attachment plate you mention above?
Hi mate thanks for watching, yes it was hard to narrow down all the components needed back when I put it together and since I imaging they have changed all the parts to different models but I'm glad my list was able to help and good luck on your build, I dont mind getting out every now an then to change the plow angle.
That mounting plate took me forever to mount, my hands are not the smallest and getting those nuts on the back plate was impossible for me. I found your video "after" I installed my a few weeks ago, keep NOTE of this...with the blade turned and if you backup be mindful of your tires that they don't hit the blade, mine hit the blade and popped out the top bolts/nuts on the mounting plate, bent the plate and now I have a new one on order :( Cheers
Hi David yes the video doesn't show my frustration and time fiddling around as I have big hands as well but at full angle my blade is well clear of the tires, what size wheels and tyres are you running
@@TooManyProjectsNotEnoughTime 2020 Defender XT bone stock, blade at full angle and backing up turning full lock, hit the blade and popped out the top bolts of the mounting plate, plate has since bent and I ordered a new one to replace it.
I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing where you ordered the Can-Am Super Duty Plow kit from? I've been searching all over online. Can-Am site won't allow for the push tubes to be shipped to any place other than a dealership.
Hi Mathew I purchased mine through a dealership in 2020 and the Can am seems to change models regularly so the part numbers shown may not even be available anymore. but thanks for watching I hope it helps a little when you get yours
Hi David the hitch is a Can am part from the manufacturer and the bar on the front was a winch model, not all front bars are winch models but I wanted the winch up hight for the snow plow and the hitch attachment as I move all my trailers around my place using the front hitch
Yes it will work, and there are a number of rigging options if you use a strap and a pulley higher but just a straight pull does work bit I personally like a higher pulling point. I also have a tow hitch where the lower winch goes which i use daily when the plow is not installed
I have S3 springs now and they were adjusted up but the first year I used it, and in this video it was stock in the lower setting and also worked just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I’m thinking of moving the winch up and just using bolts with lock bouts for the top plow mount.

I have the Seizmik soft doors on my 2020 HD8. Excellent value for the price. Great video BTW but I had to mute the annoying music.
Hi mate thanks for watching, are your soft doors full or split? I would like the option of half for summer and full for winter
