Man, you made it look way easier, I got so flustered doing the mounting plate ( I have zero patience 😂) I ended taking the front wheels off my 2021 outlander 650 which helped a little bit. I also went to a local can am dealer to print off the template since my printer gave me a hard time which probably contributed more to my lack of patience. The important thing is that it's on and everything works great 👍😒😂
Agree, I had mine in a heated garage with all my proper tools and lighting. Jacked the front end up with the winch and it did help. Shitty design, they could have thought ahead and mounted with 8 heavy bolts, but oh no, let’s not do that! Let’s make it as tough as possible. Like the machine, but the engineers need a kick in the balls..
@@mcmuskie2563 they have a new redesigned mounting plate that uses 4 bolts, wish I would of known that 🤬😂 all good though, the plow is phenomenal and my 650 doesn’t care if it’s 2 inches or 24 inches of snow.
This video is the best by far on RUclips! Made my install a breeze ! Only thing I did different was winch the quad up on its back bumper, easier to work at. Thanks Man
I put jack stands under the lower control arms. Else I couldn't even fit my drill with bit to even drill holes. Or see the center points. Also this the only video I saw on how to assemble the plow itself, being inexperienced in any of this, it definitely helped, had to watch 3 diff videos, one for the plow mount I had. One for the winch install and this one for the plow assembly. Greatly made my life easier.
Well i also installed the Plow Limit Switch, it wasn’t a party, the wiring was an issue, I think it was a kit for older model, mines a 2022 650 XT. Anyway it had to be installed first, cause of the routing of the wires. Mounting the Support Plate was difficult even with the right tools etc. As per Can-Am nothings easy. One things for sure! I wouldn’t want to be a Can-Am mechanic. It’s like they purposely make it difficult. I think there engineers can’t see out of one eye and the others wooden. Instructions are lousy, similar to IKEA. Without the help of this video it would have been far more difficult. Although knowing what side he’s working on constantly would be helpful. Got my sides mixed up twice, cost me 20min. Thank god for the video!!!!
Yeah I can answer definitely a little harder to work on than the old Honda‘s and the instructions are almost unusable I’m glad you found the video useful👍
Big thank u I just put the plow and pushframe together on my 2024 outlander 1000 max xt Online canam instructions pretty garbage. Dealer put.mount on. Big difference from a 800 2013 max xt plow system Was hoping to.use my 2013 mount plate on 2024 no such luck .it's sits 1ft back from 24 mount and with a Gen 2 frame but with swing arms even dealer tech could Not install. So.had to buy an entire 24 plow system... Not as heavy as a 13 not strongest material steel. This is how I came across ur video Big thanks!!!
Thank you for this video!. I'm about to purchase a outlander xmr1000 and I have looked into plows. The MFR instructions for other brands do not support the outlander. Is this a CAN AM specific mount? I like the quick attach and detach. Do you have a link for the product!?
Very good and expliciit video. First we have found that actually helps us. However, shouldn't the more pointed end of the plate be pointing towards the front of the vehicle?
What make and model is the winch on this unit? I have a KFI 2000 stealth winch. I hate that thing. It's loud/ noisy and slow! That winch is so fast, I had to rewind and see it a few times to absorb it. I have a 570 G2L chassis if that matters.
@@Maxsmotoshop is it a 3500 or 2500? Will that make a difference in the speed? I have both in a cart on partzilla. Want to make sure I get the right one. Great videos by the way.👍🏻🏁
Very good video, thank you! Do you know how to install and adjust a winch limiter switch? It’s to save the cable from stretching and keep the plow from hitting the front.
Make sure you have the cutting edge installed on the bottom of the pole. You might need to change your angle of attack to make it cut down deeper quicker.
You can if you like, but I never plan on riding fast with the plow on anyways, and I want this suspension set up for when I drop the plow and go do a little cruise during the winter
Thanks for the video, ordered a 2022 850 outlander (dealers waiting on parts) and thinking about installing the plow myself. Watching all you had to do I'm not sure it's worth the $100 off from the dealer?! One question any idea where the Can-Am plows, mount, and push frames are manufactured (Canada, Mexico, USA, or China(hope not))?
Yeah it’s a lot of work at 100 bucks it’s a pretty good deal… I believe they are made in Mexico same as the machines themselves but I could be wrong👍 thanks for watching
Or you can just buy the Kfi plow kit and only drill two holes. After research I went with KFI. I have a 2021 can am 850 xt. With the KFI I had to remove then reinstall 4 blots from the sway bar mount to install the mounting plate bracket but it was super easy. I would say far easier than this plow installation in the video.
There is a rectangle in the middle of the template that you cut out and it lines up With the small rectangle on the skid plate also referred to the Can-Am directions if you need help with exact placement
@@Maxsmotoshop shoot. I don't think the thicker plates have the triangle on it or the template since I don't see it anywhere. Since the plates are Iron Baltic there's no template for it... this will be more of a pain.
couldn't have done it without this video. watched the video then started over. paused on every step then when and did it. thanks 😁
You’re welcome glad I could help👍
I can’t thank you enough. Just installed my plow with no issues. One of the best how to video ever. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great to hear!
Super helpful! The BRP instructions for this stage of the install are practically useless. Thanks for making this video!
BRP instructions are always useless 👍
A great video. I like the way you explain EVERY minute detail! Thanks, well done. Very helpful.

I kind of thought that at first too but the bolt holes definitely only lineup one way👍

This machine has Can-Am accessories on it. You should be able to go to the BRP Can-Am website under accessories to find them.

Can't see anything for the plow assembly, which bolts which nuts, what direction those plates are going.

no I have never had to install one if I ever get the opportunity I will make a video about it👍
Do you keep those guides under the plow on? I've shortened them as much as they can go but the plow isn't deep enough in the snow
Make sure you have the cutting edge installed on the bottom of the pole. You might need to change your angle of attack to make it cut down deeper quicker.
Great demo. Congrats. Can you show HOW to Angle the blade to push snow in different directions? Or maybe just a reply is useful?
There’s a lever on the front of the push tube simply pull the lever and you can angle the blade in either direction👍
Did you have to firm up the front suspension at all after installing?
You can if you like, but I never plan on riding fast with the plow on anyways, and I want this suspension set up for when I drop the plow and go do a little cruise during the winter
Hey I just bought one of these plows for my 2022 outlander 570 xmr. I was wondering how a person knows where to put the template to drill the holes?
Direct angle at the bottom of the template, and the circle in the middle lineup with the skid plate
Will this plow, mount and push tube fit the 2022 outlander 570 max XT
It should fit on all outlanders but double check the Can-Am website under accessories

China.... that's what the box says.
Have them install it for sure!!!
Which way do the angle tilt plate goes?
Question.. why are there 4 extra spacers and why are there 12 Flat washers M8 that are not in your instructions or the CanAm instructions??
There are three different skid plates that can come on this machine the extra pieces are for installing the mount onto the other skid plates
Might be a silly question but - Do you have to remove the bracket during summer riding?
Nope the mount sits flush with the skid plate pretty much and right behind the rear tires so I will not get caught up on anything
Nope! Thank god…
I'm really surprised they don't provide flat head carriage bolts so they dont get all jacked up basically become a new skid plate.
