Very helpful. Now, I have another question. I use my Gmail to aggregate email from two other accounts using POP3. I do this because GMail does a good job of eliminating the spam and junk. But I don't want to use the GMail interface, because I need Outlook for work. So it's a bit of a confusing set-up, but it has worked. The problem is when I am in Outlook and I reply to a message, it now shows my Gmail address in "From". It used to reply from whichever account the original message was addressed to. I don't know what changed, but do you know how I can get Outlook to NOT use the Gmail address when replying to messages?

This was nice indeed to get my main Gmail account working again. However, I have 3 in Outlook accounts and I cannot duplicate it for the other 2. I tried using the same generated password and I also tried creating additional Outlook app passwords and other combinations of these with no luck. My main account continues to work flawlessly. Does anyone know why Outlook 2016 would still need this "App password" trick to successfully add a Gmail account? I read on several websites that Office 2016/2019/2021 all support OAuth, so why can't it work directly with Gmail with your original Google username and password? I can't seem to understand that.
Do I need to delete my account and then reinstate it? I am not getting the "Add Account" prompt in Outlook 2016. If the answer is yes will I loose all my e-mails?

You dont get to put the app generated password in anywhere, it asks you to logon onto google normally and then fails. Give it a try. Just letting you know so you can keep your video up to date.

It was a long way, but thank youuuu , it actually works. Without video step by step guidance i could just stop using Outlook.
