My outlook kept crashing when I would try to use the verification password but I kept trying then like magic it eventually worked! Thank you for this video so glad I can finally put all my emails in folders since google doesn't believe in such a thing. :-*

I watched this old video. There are changes to both Outlook and Google, but with a bit of "dead reckoning," it allowed me to connect to my Windows 10, Outlook 2013 account. Google help was useless, but even this two-year-old tutorial did the job. Thank you!
Great tutorial. Thanks, Dave. My issue is though that after creating the app password to get around the 2-step authentication, Outlook doesn't prompt me to type in a password. Instead, it shows an error message saying that the connection didn't quite work. Any tips? Thanks!

Notice appears that as of sept 2024 Google now longer allows such 3rd party apps. Can't find solution to configure Outlook 2013. Any tips for resolution will be greatly appreciated. GREAT......My account got messed up due to an incorrect password. i trawled through RUclips but none of them got to the most important part of ALLOW LESS SECURE APPS IN GMAIL SETTINGS AND SECURITY until i seen your video! I added the Gmail account to my Outlook, works great - but it seems like all the mail is now directed to the Gmail account. I am not see the mail in Outlook anymore? But video very well done - thanks Dave.

Hi, I'm able to use gmail in Outlook with 'less secure app access' turned off. Perhaps Microsoft updated the Outlook client to use Google's security process?
@@DavesTechRescue Thanks, but there is something you maybe able to help with. I can't see the Gmail labels/categories come through to Outlook. Whilst under Gmail settings I can see labels are set to output to IMAP too. (I'm using Outlook for Mac) Would you happen to know how to fix this?

You need to change your gmail account password, then it will go to basic login screen
