There's a professional whiskey taster by the name of Fred Minnick. He's written actual books on the subject. He says that, when doing blinds, you should avoid trying to guess. It messes up your evaluations when you think you know what's in a glass.

Big fan of Knob Creek 12, which is close to being a perfect bourbon. I like Knob Creek 18, but prefer Knob Creek 15 over the 18. 🥃

I'm a big fan of Knob Creek on its own. It doesn't do well in blinds against other manufacturers, IMO. I love the 12 and try to keep a bottle around. I haven't had the 15 or 18 b/c of the high price. 150 subs coming soon! Lets Go!

Seen the KC18 for over $300. Have not seen it below $200

We have 1 store that has been really good to us with bottles like that so we typically stick with them. I believe we picked it up for around 165, and I saw it again today for 400😬

I'm pretty new to allocated bourbon but it seems like there's a steep diminishing return once you pass the $150 mark when buying bottles at/near msrp

I totally agree, bourbons that are worth it at that price range are VERY few and far between. Bottles like that also get over hyped, which is why $50 bottles are getting popular!🥃
