In today’s video, I am going to listen and give my reaction and analysis as a vocal coach to one of the most dynamic and talented singers, Dimash, singing, "The Show Must Go On".
My goal is also to explain what great singers do in simple terms, so you can learn from them and be inspired!

Before mix Belting it was his chest voice, there is video where he sings high tenor C ( C5) more than 10 second like it's nothing, his voice modulation is mind-blowing, obertonics of his voice is so beautiful, his transitions between registers is insanely hard to do, especially such a high mix Belting to head, to chest to mix,his control is out of this world, he is definitely the one and only, just imagine, in one person there is incredible tenor, baritone, countertenor, his law chest is strong and rich, his high chest voice is so powerful, his mix voice is also insanely powerful ( G5 Belting was amazing) his head voice is really unreal, he sings like world class soprano in head voice, his singing is musical PERFECTION.

You want to hear angelic? You should check out his version of Ave Maria. Blows me away everytime. Remember this is a competition show, so he needs to emote more than normal for each performance. Granted he emotes a lot in every song he sings, but in competitions, he takes it up a notch.

Since here on Singer 2017 he has done a lot of work on both his lower register and his English, but it's good to check out some of his earlier performances before the more recent ones, so they won't suffer by the comparison. The English and Chinese songs in the competition were learned phonetically.

Participants in the 'The Singer' competition had a week to learn and arrange the song that has been chosen for them. Dimash didn't speak a word of English at the time and only learned the lyrics phonetically. It was the 3rd song in the competition.
Message from Sveta (Dimash's mum in 2017) re: Brian May "We have received a message that great Brian May, the lead guitarist of the legendary rock band «Queen», gave a feedback after reviewing of Dimash’s performances:
💥“... I wasn’t aware of Dimash, but I certainly am now! Those performances in the links demonstrate what an extraordinary voice and ability he has. Now I will know !! Sadly I won’t be around on the night of the O2 concert, so I won’t be able to attend. But I appreciate the invitation and wish you all the best of luck with the show. 👉 In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
"The Show Must Go On" was the 3. song in the competition. Participants have one week to learn the lyrics and arrange the song. Dimash did not speak English at this point.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

I tried to watch all your action videos, especially to Dimash, and I enjoy them very much. My only recommendation / criticism is that when you pause the video and restart exactly where you stopped. This is often in the middle of notes. I suggest you back the video up a few seconds prior to restarting so that notes are not stopped and started in the middle.

Hi, Vanessa. I am a Dimash fan. Your reaction was good with a lot said about his vocal technique and goings-on. I think someone else also mentioned this...that as a recommendation, you try and restart a second or two back from the point where and when you stop to make a comment. Otherwise you are doing a great job.
I also need to say that even though the arrangement of this was not as good as one would expect, Dimash did his best, which he always does, but in instance I feel he did that to rectify what's wrong with it. I want to add that some of the high pitched notes (no fault of Dimash) were unnecessary and almost irrelevant to do justice to an otherwise beautiful song...like it does not fit into the rest of the tembre and general setting of the musical arrangement. Again I say that Dimash did what he could, and particular in areas mentioned, he probably just did what the arrangement prescribed.
