I deeply agree with you that everyone connects with the artist that makes feel an special emotion. Dimash doesn't have Fredy's voice at all!!! Personally I prefer the softness and the strength of Dimash's voice! This is Fredy's song, anyway , thank's Fredy, because through out this incredible song you give somebody else the opportunity to express himself in his own personal style. Honestly I appreciate your statement. I loved Freddy and still do. Do so much that I travelled to Panchgani, India, to see the boarding school he went to. They even showed me that whole place including Freddie's dormatory. I was deeply impressed. It was my way to somehow compensate the fact that I never saw him live. I always thought there'd be so many other opportunities - and then he passed away... Stupid me! Not to repeat the same mistake, I took the first opportunity to see Dimash live. OmG! What an experience! As I love both artists I felt like telling you my opinion. Any preference is a matter of personal taste. Technically Dimash's range is wider, unique. He sings in any genre. His style is as unique as Freddie's. In my opinion Dimash is the best and most versatile vocalist ever. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his vocals, his way of dimashifying covers, I love his own compositions, his body language (oh, those eloquent hands!!!!), his emotion, his passion and I absolutely love his interaction with us dears in concerts. Freddy is an essential part of my past. Dimash is a massive part of my presence and my future. I will seize any opportunity within reach to see him live. I have to. I am addicted. Great reaction! Totally agree with you Queen is Queen. Freddy was the Greatest of his era. No one can replace them. Neither Dimash trying to do that. What i like about Dimash is that, whenever he does covers he never tries to oversing the original artist or band. He always explores and analyses MUSIC that he is going to perform. He tries to catch main message behind it and interpret that on his own way. And I absolutely love this performance, although his English is not excellent. But he could transfer the death of emotions behind this composition. Even he was so young back then. I’d love to see how he would perform this composition now. ❤
Thanks for your reaction. Please keep in mind that Dimash was only 22 during this performance and his first time ever singing on what he called “the adult stage”. It was an invitation to compete in a show in China called The Singer. Dimash is 29 now and 90% better.
I'm Freddie's fan for 40 years. I don't want anyone sing Freddie's songs, apart from Marc Martel and Dimash. We all know how much Freddie loved opera. He would have been thrilled with Dimash. Putting his own style and heart into this song, he made it more beautiful. The arrangement was great also. The two best vocalists in the world ever!

Dimash never copies, out of respect for the performer. He wasn't going to throw anyone off the pedestal, the Queen and Freddie weren't hurt, don't worry. This song is a condition of the contest. But who sang it better is the question.
Queen wrote songs for radio. Radio has rules. The most important rule? No dead air. Secondmost important rule? Hook uo front and no ket-down. Radio demands constant energy. You can experiment all you like so long as the energy level is kept high throughout. There usnt much dynamic variation. So songs don't build to a climax. The emotional content is steady state. Not much drama. Radio does this because it is terrified of channel hopping. There can't be any boring bits. It has to start at rhe top and stay there. Within those cinstraints, Queen made compelling songs, memorable, popular. But what happens if you no lomger have to obey radio's rules? Dimash shows us. He uses dynamic variation to inject drama into his songs. Two consequences: 1) You won't hear Dimash on commercial radio in the US. 2) When you do hear Dimash, the result is amazement. He puts the drama back into pop music. And audiences can't get enough.
The guy said that Dimash " lures the audience, and she replied, of course, he is very handsome." Dimash only spoke in his mother tongue, Kazak, and Russian. This was his third performance and had one week to sing it in a language he never spoke until he sang this song. Later, as the competition progressed, so did his English, as with All By Myself, and Adagio. He also sang songs in Mandarin and Italian ( Confessa/ Diva Dance). Brian May made the statement that Freddie Mercury would have been proud. I don't think Dimash was trying to dethrone Freddie Mercury. He took the song and made it his own, and did not try to mimic it. I know you reacted to "Unforgettable Day@Gakku, but, I hope you will also do the version he performed in this same show. This was a singing competition in which, as is customary in singing competitions, well-known songs are covered. Dimash was in competition only against the other contestants from the "I'm Singer" show. It wasn't about outdoing Queen or "dethroning" Queen (which is impossible to do, don`t worry), if anyone felt that way. On the contrary: Dimash is a very big admirer of Queen and he appreciates and loves their songs very much. When asked about his idols in interviews, his eyes shine with enthusiasm and he likes to list M.J., Queen, Celine Dion and Pavarotti, among others. Queen will always remain Queen👑: their history is breathtaking and Freddie Mercury (R.I.P.🙏) with his extraordinary voice, his stage presence and charisma will never be forgotten and will always be rightly loved by his fans... Dimash is another artist in his own right. He interpreted the song in his own way and did not try to imitate Freddie Mercury. In the past, when Dimash sang a song by a famous artist, it was more as a tribute, an homage. Let’s assume, if I had to say something about a comparison, it would be like this: I really like "The Show Must Go On" by Queen. It's very dramatic and stirring, especially because of the tragedy behind it. But I also really like Dimash's interpretation. I see it as two different, two independent songs and I like both of them. Oh no worries, I never assumed he was trying to be better than Freddie. It is simply me stating that I couldn’t name any other version than the original my favorite. That will never be dethroned. He did make it different in many ways which is appreciated and actually makes it more of a tribute than a full on cover. I’m pretty sure Freddie would approve of this. The cool thing is that Freddie would often call people he loved “dear” and that can hardly be a coincidence when you compare that to how Dimash calls his fans ;).
This was almost 10yrs ago … his English has gotten so much better. Also, it is really hard to believe but his singing just gets better every year. He is just an unbelievable talent.

I read somewhere that the basic idea for processing the song was that the song consists of three parts, in honor of Freddy Mercury. The first part, the quiet and light one, refers to Freddy's childhood, the second to his brilliant career, successes and stellar moments, the third to his brave fight to the end, with a smile and a message that the show must go on, that life goes on. Freddy was the king of stage performance. The crown is a spectacular performance at Wembley ’86. I adore Dimash's version of the song. He gives his personal stamp and a whole new, magical dimension. What is fascinating to me is that a young man (almost a child) appeared on the music scene, who holds my attention all the time with his incredible vocal abilities and unique stage performances. One thing I’ve yet to hear anyone mention is that in this performance, I think it obvious that Dimash was tipping his hat to the fact that Freddie too was classically trained so this style of presentation imho was to honor that part of Freddie . He’s not going to do an impression-he’s going to offer homage and insight into Freddie’s musical upbringing. That was my first impression the first time I heard dimash do this . I almost wish we could call this “ Freddie’s Aria”.

This version for me is not just a cover, I think Dimash left his soul in his interpretation. He really he lives it through every note. How lucky we are to be able to testify to such a great talent! I don't think the world gets to know many of these. It is a gift from Heaven, as the meaning of his name indicates.
Glad you liked Dimash's interpretation of this iconic song. He's such a courageous singer, which few seem to notice. This was one of the first songs he did in English, tho he didnt yet speak the language, and the outfit didn't exactly scream "rock star. Hola Marisa, no es que este equivocado, simplemente dice que entre el original de Queen y la versión de Dimash prefiere la primera. En ningún momento comenta que dimash a intentado superar a nadie. Yo adoro a Dimash, lo escucho todos los días, pero en esta canción en particular también prefiero la versión original. Eso no quita que para mí también es el mejor cantante del mundo en la actualidad y se demuestra día a día sobre todo con sus canciones propias.

I appreciate your honesty, and I really appreciate your opinion. As a big fan of Dimash (Dear) and I also grew up listening to Queen, I can say that both of them are unique in their style.
You can find a compilation video of all of Dimash's performances from the 2017 Singer show on the RUclips channel named "Rafita di Bari 2023." That video has subtitles. After the song, the competitors backstage say: "Everyone are giving their full support... That's true." They then ask the new competitor in the black T-shirt: "What do you think about Dimash?" He says "Fierce... I am stressed out now."
We are not comparing Dimash to Freddie. They are different singers but to be honest , Dimash sang the song in his own version as usual of any cover and I can’t take that away from him. ❤️
I'm English and when ur this good u can easily forgive his pronunciation, he learns to sing in many languages which is an accomplisment in itself. Dimash without doubt is the best male vocalist in the world right now. He doesnt do covers he takes a song and adds his own interpretation, which is even more of skill to do. No one will beat freddy but dimash smashes his version right out of the park.

The mark of excellent performer is they can make you feel the song purely from the vocal. Whatever languages he sing it doesn’t matter. We feel it.
I'm Freddie's fan for 40 years. I don't want anyone sing Freddie's songs, apart from Marc Martel and Dimash. We all know how much Freddie loved opera. He would have been thrilled with Dimash. Putting his own style and heart into this song, he made it more beautiful. The arrangement was great also.

Queen wrote songs for radio.
Radio has rules. The most important rule? No dead air. Secondmost important rule? Hook uo front and no ket-down. Radio demands constant energy. You can experiment all you like so long as the energy level is kept high throughout.
There usnt much dynamic variation. So songs don't build to a climax. The emotional content is steady state. Not much drama.
Radio does this because it is terrified of channel hopping. There can't be any boring bits. It has to start at rhe top and stay there.
Within those cinstraints, Queen made compelling songs, memorable, popular. But what happens if you no lomger have to obey radio's rules?
Dimash shows us. He uses dynamic variation to inject drama into his songs.
Two consequences: 1) You won't hear Dimash on commercial radio in the US. 2) When you do hear Dimash, the result is amazement.
He puts the drama back into pop music. And audiences can't get enough.

I liked the reaction and I want to thank you for it. 🙋🏻♀🤝👌 However, I feel that the purpose of this performance has been somewhat misunderstood; both when reading one or the other comment, as well as in the final words in the reaction video. This was a singing competition in which, as is customary in singing competitions, well-known songs are covered. Dimash was in competition only against the other contestants from the "I'm Singer" show. It wasn't about outdoing Queen or "dethroning" Queen (which is impossible to do, don`t worry), if anyone felt that way.
On the contrary: Dimash is a very big admirer of Queen and he appreciates and loves their songs very much. When asked about his idols in interviews, his eyes shine with enthusiasm and he likes to list M.J., Queen, Celine Dion and Pavarotti, among others.
Queen will always remain Queen👑: their history is breathtaking and Freddie Mercury (R.I.P.🙏) with his extraordinary voice, his stage presence and charisma will never be forgotten and will always be rightly loved by his fans...
Dimash is another artist in his own right. He interpreted the song in his own way and did not try to imitate Freddie Mercury. In the past, when Dimash sang a song by a famous artist, it was more as a tribute, an homage.
Let’s assume, if I had to say something about a comparison, it would be like this: I really like "The Show Must Go On" by Queen. It's very dramatic and stirring, especially because of the tragedy behind it. But I also really like Dimash's interpretation. I see it as two different, two independent songs and I like both of them. Period!
I generally don't like comparisons between different artists. It quickly leads to arguments and conflicts between their fan bases ... and especially with Dimash it is absolutely unnecessary. Unfortunately there is one or the other "fan" who praises Dimash in the highest tones and at the same time denigrates other artists. I don't approve of that and neither do the absolute majority of the Dears. Also it's not in the spirit of Dimash. He himself praises other singers and, as far as I know, has never said a bad word about other artists. He is very humble and respectful.

Oh no worries, I never assumed he was trying to be better than Freddie. It is simply me stating that I couldn’t name any other version than the original my favorite. That will never be dethroned. He did make it different in many ways which is appreciated and actually makes it more of a tribute than a full on cover. I’m pretty sure Freddie would approve of this. The cool thing is that Freddie would often call people he loved “dear” and that can hardly be a coincidence when you compare that to how Dimash calls his fans ;).

Dimash es el mejor cantante, por lo menos hasta ahora, de la historia, por muuuuucho. Esto por supuesto hablando de su técnia, lo demás son gustos. Freddie Mercury es una de los cantantes y artistas más famosos y queridos de la historia. Su técnica vocal es, como es obvio, de clase mundial, sin embargo la diferencia entre él y Dimash es abismal. Dimash es simplemente demasiado bueno.

I read somewhere that the basic idea for processing the song was that the song consists of three parts, in honor of Freddy Mercury. The first part, the quiet and light one, refers to Freddy's childhood, the second to his brilliant career, successes and stellar moments, the third to his brave fight to the end, with a smile and a message that the show must go on, that life goes on.
Freddy was the king of stage performance. The crown is a spectacular performance at Wembley ’86.
I adore Dimash's version of the song. He gives his personal stamp and a whole new, magical dimension.
What is fascinating to me is that a young man (almost a child) appeared on the music scene, who holds my attention all the time with his incredible vocal abilities and unique stage performances. Dimash fascinates with his own style.

One thing I’ve yet to hear anyone mention is that in this performance, I think it obvious that Dimash was tipping his hat to the fact that Freddie too was classically trained so this style of presentation imho was to honor that part of Freddie . He’s not going to do an impression-he’s going to offer homage and insight into Freddie’s musical upbringing. That was my first impression the first time I heard dimash do this . I almost wish we could call this “ Freddie’s Aria”.

Glad you liked Dimash's interpretation of this iconic song. He's such a courageous singer, which few seem to notice. This was one of the first songs he did in English, tho he didnt yet speak the language, and the outfit didn't exactly scream "rock star. You can find a compilation video of all of Dimash's performances from the 2017 Singer show on the RUclips channel named "Rafita di Bari 2023." That video has subtitles. After the song, the competitors backstage say: "Everyone are giving their full support... That's true." They then ask the new competitor in the black T-shirt: "What do you think about Dimash?" I'm English and when ur this good u can easily forgive his pronunciation, he learns to sing in many languages which is an accomplisment in itself. Dimash without doubt is the best male vocalist in the world right now. He doesnt do covers he takes a song and adds his own interpretation, which is even more of skill to do. No one will beat freddy but dimash smashes his version right out of the park.
