- This video captures the police response at Oneida Casino in Ashwaubenon as officers respond to an active shooter on May 1, 2021. “That was the first time that a major incident occurred where we had body cameras deployed. We were able to see, first hand, what our officers were going through and how things came into being,” Police Captain Ben Allen told WTAQ News.

Being raised in vegas made me think mass shootings were a normal occurrence. I grew up around this stuff, but it never hit me that unexpecting places like the one in this video can actually have mass shootings.
This is my community too. I eat at the restaurant every time I come back from military deployment. I was surprised when I heard this happened. Always keep that thing on you.

This incident is intensifying because it's difficult to determine where the active shooter is located or is hiding and where the sound of gunshots comes from.
Also having to determine the shooter from civilians
That's part of the problem.. other people censoring what we can or cannot see. People MUST see the reality and the consequences. It isnt real if we cant see it.

If it wasn’t censored it would be removed off RUclips because they don’t allow stuff like that. And there is young people on RUclips also and I don’t think they will be happy to see people get shot.
Young people should be in the youtube kids section and frankly there are plenty of videos of people being shot and other "graphic" footage on here. They put one of those warnings up before the videos play and you have to click confirm that you understand its graphic and you want to watch it. Like the OP said this should not be censored@Swiss0030

I'm a former LEO and a nuclear security officer. I thought my CQB skills were bad until I watched this travesty. They definitely need more training.

It was hardly that bad for a bunch of random guys working together. It's easy to criticize when you're not doing it under pressure and not actually working with a tactical unit.
Unless you train EXTENSIVELY and with a consistent group of guys with specific set roles, there's no way you're gonna be able to tackle this type of scenario much better than the guys here did.
I'm curious how many times you've had to go into a CQB situation with an active threat and guys outside of your unit.

People keep forgetting that this is NOT a squad of people constantly training together. This is not a swat unit, just a bunch of random officers who happened to be on patrol on that day, probably some from neighbor precincts as well. Some with loads of experience, some in their first 6 months. Some coming fresh from active shooter-drills, others who haven't drilled a situation like this in months, maybe years. I bet a good amount of the cops involved met each other for the first time on that day.
All things considered, they did alright I think.

Communication of where the shooter was is the only major issue I saw. Nobody really knew what was happening at first…
well that one cop who clearly was losing his head when he was supposed to be watching the door he was about to enter with it being wide open, to go running off to what he thought was a gun shot (He still wasnt sure at the time)
No one watched their sectors, they all were almost always looking the same way, even had to yell at a guy to stay put (Im guessing to finally watch their backs) then they all went charging straight to where they found the shooter, as far as they knew he could have been rounding the corner (which it seems he was about to do just that) at that point and they were wide open, there's alot for major issues based on this video

video games are much harder then being a police officer. literally anybody who graduated highschool can become an officer. and they do nothing for society.
it's odd how "mass shooting" is defined. when shootings with multiple victims involve Bloods, Crips, etc, etc, i don't hear them described as such
it would open up alot of eyes that dont see reality only what there told or see on tv or other small hat owned media ,basically it doesnt fit the narrative they want to push
it depends on who wants to sell what story. if somebody wants to make you think there is an epidemic of it, they will list all of those too but without the demographic details. if they want you to think it's a right-wing problem, they will list only the details of those specific ones. It's a dirty game they play.

Research before you speak kid. A mass shooting is defined as multiple people being shot or killed with a firearm. It doesn’t matter where it occurs, Chicago, LA, Baltimore, New York, at a grocery store or park.. if multiple people are shot, injured, or killed.. it’s always classified a mass shooting
It's supposed to be 4 gunshot victims or more to be declared mass shooting. So much gang violence in Chicago is classified as mass shootings, but I think they should have a different word for random acts of violence, as opposed to having motive and knowing the victims.
It’s crazy all of the officers are correcting each other and yelling at each other for the BASICS of movement and communication everyone in my unit would have a field day with this definitely need more stress training

Normal day in america
most places dont have shooter drills and the building was evacuated based on the video. They just wasnt evacuated from the property, just hanging out in the front(?) drinkin coffee, they sounded pretty calm too lol ( I dont think they knew what was going on)
It’s pretty hard to evacuate a building when there’s an active shooter. And possibly those people felt safe near the police.

It actually depends in what state. Each one has different classifications unfortunately. Some classify just even two as a mass shooter even if the two victims were the only intended targets.
They've broadened the classification in an attempt to make it look like it's becoming more common. It's still an exceedingly rare form of gun violence.
@@Mr.T360 Mass shooting is defined by the FBI, not local. Locals will call any 3 or more casualties a mass shooting if it's done by Whites. It's "gun violence" if it involves a certain demographic.
The scary thing is, they came with minor intel about the shooter. That situation can turn so bad for the police.

We often visit our daughter's family in Australia, which has no gun crime, school shootings, mass shootings, AR, AK or hand guns in public hands. It's an amazing feeling not to worry about who is packing and what might happen when someone goes off the rails like this! Kudos Australians!

Asking for a gun when one is in your hands… if you need a rifle get yours from your car that you have zeroed in for you. If you pick someone’s else’s rifle it won’t be zeroed for you. What if you have to hit a precise shot? Gonna be rough when it’s not zeroed to you. Laughable.

It concludes in a still frame and doesn't provide any insight into what happened after the incident and doesn't provide any useful information about what happened.
I know people mistake guns for cars and fireworks, but those first shots going off at 1:00 - I would have known right away. That is crazy!

My ancestors were some of the first pioneer settlers of the area. I've been going to our original family farm (1860's) since I was born, almost 65 years. The element moved into the area, I gather from Racine and Kenosha. Then the crime rates kept climbing. I am prejudice but I know there are descent people to. All I know is things are not getting better. I'm no law scholar but I do believe our laws are about 247 years outdated. As in anything in life, if you keep doing the same thing with poor results, then change your behavior. If we thought 911 was horrible, I think we will be experiencing worse... daily!

Wisconsin is an open carry state with the right to bear arms, meaning anyone who is not otherwise barred from carrying a legal firearm may do so as long as they are in a public location, a building they own, a private establishment that isn't licensed to sell alcohol, or a public building.
