@HamDenGeniale- "Raiding was shit back then"? Really? Raiding was the BEST in TBC. The raids actually felt "epic" since they were hard to even get IN to. "Our abilities" were just fine, as well. I, as a tank, personally loved how threat was a challenge and we needed to try hard to keep from taking crushes. I miss TBC :(
I know that this is a far shot but have you seen Wildstar,i know many people are bashing it but honestly so was i until i got to my first dungeon at lvl 20,it wasnt that hard but still a challange,then i got to elder game (end game) and did a 20 man raid,we wiped a lot and at the end we just made it,but its even better since there will be 40 MAN RAIDS.Hope you like it tell me you thoughts.
You both are correct. They were wearing Karazan and gruuls lair farmed gear which was t4 and maybe trinket\weapons of t3 gear. :) Good old days when you can actually keep track of which Teir set is which just by looking at it...unlike now t17?

But changed later on so there were epics from every last boss in HC dungeons and then ofc from every boss in MGT HC.
this is no doubt my favorite wow video of all time, right now im a cataclysmic gladiator and im far from ever doing pve again, but back then, it was difficult and the raiding guilds like this were inspiring.
Heroic dungeon did dropp epics on the last boss. That said Nihlium went in and killed Magtheridon wearing blues, only a few epics and even vanilla gear. Remember they went in to get an early kill meaning they didnt farm raids before they went in and killed it so they had pretty "bad" gear. Same with their Illidan kill for ex. they didnt have a lot of T6 etc. cause they went for a fast kill meaning not enough weeks/runs to gear the entire raid up.
Damn right, Shattered Halls was a total nightmare if you had the wrong mix of classes - in fact pretty much impossible if you didn't have 2 decent CC classes. That's what made me quit - heroics were way too easy in Lich King. Then Blizz made the heroics in Cata nice and tough again initially, but gave in to all the crybabies who couldn't do them. Remember the first time I tanked Grim Batol pre nerf and undergeared; that was fucking tough!
SSC attunement had shit to do with Mags. Ofc every decent guild got to SSC since most guilds skipped Mags and went to kill Fathlord, Lurker and Moro instead. The guilds who killed early Mags were the very top guilds of the world. Actually no guild killed the first version of Magtheridon, Nihilum got their kill just after the first hotfix. Mags was then nerfed hard a month later and basically nerfed more with every new patch. So you see, no guild reached TK with "ease" until the nerfbat struck
I think hpalas were stronger in retail vs private servers because in private servers the raid-wide damage is way stronger. You just have more opportunities in private servers for COH priests and shamans to pop off.
Pre nerfed mag was really hard if you never did it don't say other, that and having a group full of people who can't click a cube also makes it harder.
He was definitely easy in level 60 armor *Insert sarcasm here* You obviously weren't playing back then,cause gear was pretty harder to get,heroics didnt drop epics as they do now ;D
We did it with Tier 3/4 in The Legacy, However, I agree it was a fuckfest. However I don't think it is that bad.. I've seen some pretty redicilous numbers when we raided naxxramas.
t3 gear? dont think so. t3 was vanilla gear. even green 70 stuff was better than 60 t3. so i dont think they were using it during this bossfight. kungen only used the 60 legendary sword because of the passiveproc. your right tho with the difficulty of that bossfight prenerf.

Yep,at the beginning of TBC all the epics u could get in a week were craftable items which took a lot of grinding and some badge gear.
