      🙄 *_RIIIGHT_* ... because 10 and $12 sandwiches are so affordable. Cost are up ridiculously, but you're projecting and transferring what was going on at Aldi's and Walmart to this little mom-and-pop gig, then using innuendo since you don't have any facts.
      It was prices, plain and simple. Cost of supplies, cost of Labor leading to increased prices which lead to reduced business. It's not cost-effective to stay in business Ergo the business closes. Period.

    Friend of mine moved his small specialty machine shop out of Portland area two years ago. He did over a million dollars business a year so Portland lost a tax cow. The cost of living was too high, taxes were too high, regulations were insane, the crime and homeless were out of control and his wife got caught up in one of the "mostly peaceful" riots driving home from her job at a hospital and her car trashed (they made her get out then broke all the windows and dented hood, doors, etc... The police stood there and watched it she told me).
    He moved to Texas and has more business then he can handle.
    Note their kids, who were indoctrinated in college there stayed and they aren't speaking much he tells me.

    I have had a retail business in Beaverton for 30 years now... now I lock the doors when supposed to be open because im afraid to let anyone in anymore from whats been happening to me an the business from the lack of law and the criminals that thrive from that. We are fleeing the COUNTRY in one year for good. Born and raised in Oregon, right here, and now fear it and our safety every day, unlike anything ever before.

    Nobody wanders around Down Town and spends money anymore because of the homeless crisis.
    Portland was a great place to roam around in. Nice restaurants and bars and plenty of unique stores to visit.
    It was liberal and it was chill.
    Then the homeless took advantage of liberal policies and Portland became a destination to AVOID.
    The City loses Tens of millions in revenue because of closing businesses and no tax revenue.
    You can only go so liberal people. If you go too far left this is what happens.
    Of coarse you can also go too far Right as well. I saw Footloose.

Add to that green new deal polices on food and animal products as well as artificially high energy prices will kill an economy every time.
