    The drop size depends on the diameter and design of the end of the dropper tube you are using, e.g. disposable plastic ones give much larger drops than the thin glass ones we use. The glass droppers we use for our system give a droplet size of 0.02 grams/drop when held upright so that's 50 drops / gram.
    The proportions will remain the same (ish) as long as you use the same style of droppers for all your materials except the most mobile (citrus) or viscous (balsams) materials. - Steve

    Examples of materials used as Blenders. Muguet (M - Lily of the Valley), Linalool (L- Rosewood, Bergamot)
    Fixatives finish off the perfume adding depth, richness, a time element and are usually represented by Animal notes(U), Vanilla(V), Woods(W), Musk(X), Moss(Y)

    • @nttn37
      @nttn37 2 года назад

  • @PerfumersWorld

    Hi Rasmanda,
    We have our specific Fleuressence's that produce these effects and these are designed to slot together seamlessly. If you were using single aroma chemicals or naturals consider these alternatives:
    Light Blenders: Hedione, Nerolidol, Farnesol, Cabreuva Oil, Ambrette Seed, Rosewood Oil.
    Spice: Eugenol, Clove Oil
    Ozone: Floralozone, Calone, Benzyl Salicylate+Lavender+Oakmoss
    Note: single oils and aroma chemicals require a lot more experimentation to get them just right.

    If you doubt "State of the Art"
    Download The Perfumer's Workbook software for perfume creation, compatible with the iSniffs system, probably the only software publicly available that generates a formula from an odour description. Read the articles in Perfumer & Flavorist about the system The ABC's of Perfumery, What is perfume?, How do you smell?, The Grammar of Perfumery, Formulating by Function etc.
    Why would we have ANY shame about a great system and a great product?
    Steve

  • @PerfumersWorld
    @PerfumersWorld  11 лет назад

    Blenders are there to bring all the different notes together so they are harmonious (Analogies are bridges, smoothing, glue, fillers). As their function is not to change the style of the perfume but just bring it together they tend to be lower impact materials with medium to longer lives. If the blender has characteristics of the Heart and Modifiers used in the perfume then this helps. (e.g. freshness that goes with Citrus and Green and Floral or Woody notes).

    Modifiers decorate or change the Heart. ANY note that is not like the Heart is a modifier but as the intention is to change it will usually be a higher impact material and only used in small proportions. If your Heart is Rose then even other florals like Jasmine become modifiers in this case. But more common modifiers are high impact or top note type materials like Aldehydes(A), Cool notes(B), Citrus(C), Dairy(D), Edible(E), Fruit(F), Green(G), Herb(H), Phenol(P), Spice(S), Tar and Smoke(T).

    Patchouli tends to produce a more masculine character for an extrovert rather than a "shy girl" :-).
    Try mixing Patchouli with other woods like Sandalwood, Cedarwood Virginian, Guaiayl Acetate and/or Guaiacwood Oil to blend it. Balancing Patchouli with Geranium Oil produces a great accord for use with Fougeres.
    Check out our workshops.

      Flavio Bernardo
      Hi Flavio,
      The terpenes in the orange oil (& most citrus oils) don't like fixed (=non-volatile) oils like Sweet Almond, Fractionated Palm Oil, Jojoba, IPM, mineral oil etc i.e. most massage oils. If using them or Zolvent Fleuressence in the iSniffs system then Orange Oil may work as part of a formula (start with 1 in 10 but depends on the other materials used). Time is unlikely to improve this. Using alcohol should work but its water content must be low (e.g. Vodka has far too much water to use for using with citrus oils on their own. ) Check out www.kleenxtract.com/#about

      Yes the Fleuressence Bases and newer F-TEC versions can be used with any essential oils or perfumery materials. Due to IFRA restrictions on natural Rose and Jasmin and others like Basil and spice oils , they should be limited to around 1% or less of the concentrate. Contact us via the website with any more questions.
