I feel like everybody does "extreme budge challenges X meals in a week" type-videos but I'd like to see Week 2 and Week 3 videos, where instead of starting with salt, pepper, and fat, you start off with salt, pepper, fat, 1/2 a bag of flour, 2 packets of yeast, 3 chicken bullion cubes, half an onion, and 5 tortillas. Then you can really show people how planning ahead can take people from living week-to-week to living decently.
My partner makes the best pancakes. His late father was Hungarian, and taught him how to make them putting lemon zest in the mixture. Also over here we eat mostly thin pancakes, not crepes but still pretty thin, and we roll them up with jam inside, ( well that's how we eat them in our house ), though I also love them with sugar and lemon juice over them instead of the jam. Hope you are all staying safe and well. Much love and respect to all the family, and a tummy rub for Speedy, from South East England. x
If there is one thing I've learned with diabetes. One size does not fit all. I fast, a lot. I just find it convenient. I injured my back a few weeks ago and the medication really upset my system. So, I'm doing carnivore for a couple of weeks. Generally, I have to avoid any grains and flours. I can tolerate some sugar. Others, it's just the opposite. One thing I know for sure, if I followed the Diabetes Association diet, I'd be dead.
@@lindamorrison9755 It was Dr, Jason Fung I came across when I was first diagnosed. Had it not been for him, I think I would have been in big, big trouble. The information from the VA was very outdated and getting appointments were months out. By the time they did get me into see a dietician, I was down 45 lbs and off medications. The dietician handed me the old, tired ADA information. I looked at it, laughed, said a foul word. Threw it into her wastebasket and walked out. Still off meds several years later.
I use a bottle opener to break thru the plastic wrapper on the zippfizz. I am drinking grape today too. I fill up a 32 oz bottle about half way with water, add the zippfizz, and the rest of the way with a waterloo or some other no sugar added sparkling water. Makes it extra fizzy
I also feed the volleyball team. My daughter is a senior and I make dinners for all the away games they can eat on the bus. Their favorite is Aldi bagel thins with turkey, provolone, lettuce and bacon. I set up a station and the girls grab a sack and then fill it with their drink, sandwich, chip, fruit and treat. Only a few more games of the season. Enjoy watching Haley while you can, tomorrow night is senior night for us and it seems impossible it has went by so fast 🥺
Oral Allergy Syndrome! My kiddo was just diagnosed this year when carrots and cantaloupe started making his mouth itch. Super eye opening in how the fruits and veggies correlate with the pollen.
I really enjoyed the casual format! I'm looking forward to the video with your mom. The last one I saw was the tour of her new home. I can't wait to see what you have planned:) (Full disclosure, I enjoy all of your videos, regardless of format!)
I developed Oral Allergy Syndrome in my 40’s. I’ve always wondered if it arose out of my bodies hormones changing due to pregnancy at age 40. Maybe just a co-incidence. My first problem was with apples. My throat closes up so it’s difficult to breathe, so I carry an epi-pen. I quickly figured out stone fruits are a problem. But It took another 25 years to figure out bananas are a problem! Hope bananas are your only problem food.
My mother-in-law makes lazy lasagna using ravioli. Line the dish with your desired ravioli. Layer with cheese (or cheeses) and sauce off your choice. Repeat Until dish is as full as you like. Top with cheese, of course. This is so much easier than having to deal with the lasagna noodles. I hope it works out for you!!
OMG! You went to school with Jensen Ackles! He is literally the most beautiful man in the world and even as I watch this video, Supernatural is on my TV. I am so jealous! lol
I love canned frosting too. I don't even bother making a cake. Just eat the frosting straight from the can. I eat 2 tsps a day til it's gone or my craving is satisfied.
“It’s annoying…” your husband cracked me up with the banana comment. 😂😂😂 And when you pulled your water off the chair vs the table. 😂😂😂 Thanks for the awesome content!
You can take a manual bottle opener (like for soda/beer bottles) and use that to pop the top of the Zip Fizz with the plastic still on it. I struggled for years with those darn plastic safety seals and then I saw someone on a video use a bottle opener and I was like OMG NO WAY. Yes, way. Give it a try. You'll be amazed!
I think your pantry challenge and extreme budget playlists are the reason I can stick to a $50 a week budget. In college. Vegetarian is more expensive than you would think.
I just love the white bakery cake frosting. It's SO GOOD and really bad for you. Don't eat it any more because I mostly gave up sugar about 4 years ago. I had been doing the no sugar thing for a while and decided to have my local store bakery make me a cake "with lots of frosting". Since my birthday is very close to Christmas they put a big Poinsettia on the top. Brought it home, ate one piece and it made me sick. What a surprise! That ended the birthday cake adventures.
My jaw dropped when you said it was 30 degrees in the morning there. We have been getting excited for 60 degrees. But, it works its way into the 80's still --close to 90 yesterday. Soon, soon, soon. We are ready. I think we sometimes get 30 in December here in Mississippi.
I'm with your husband, I really like cliff bars before I went on long runs. I ran a 10 miler with only one of those in my stomach and I'm a slow runner. Like a 12 min mile. So It's a couple hours running for me. They are the perfect amount of sugar and carbs.

I'm laughing at the cake because I'm trying to lose pregnancy weight, but I totally bought Halloween funfetti cake mix and icing. My logic is starting family traditions even though my kid is 3mos and more fascinated by his own limbs

Maybe that turkey-on-bread-with-gravy meal is generational, because my parents also served that “hot turkey sandwich” as did our schools for hot lunch. It’s not my favorite but we also put up with it for 18 years.
In the Midwest, restaurants served beef, turkey, or chicken "commercials" when I was a kid (probably still do) : bread covered with mashed potatoes, the shredded meat, and topped with the appropriate flavor of gravy! Yum!!!!! A great way to use leftovers! 😊 😋

The salad looked so good. I can't eat bananas either. I've been gluten free for 4 years now. Adding more liquid to your gf baking will keep it from being so dry. We usually add an extra egg, depending on the recipe.
Ok, now I know we're soul sisters. LOL. I too ate Teddy Grahams with frosting and Totitos scoops with their cheddar dip as snacks at 18/19....not in college but when I lived in dorms while working at an amusement park (Cedar Point in Ohio). Also, my Mom made cream peas...never again. LOL.
OK I had to check out the sodium after you mentioned it being salty. 910! I just started a week ago tracking my macros so I still have alot to learn. I grew up with the roast beef open sandwiches with gravy. Idk why but my family called it roast beef commercials it was also accompanied by mashed potatoes. To this day I wont eat gravy....
Agreed, Lasagna is time consuming BUT we now make it with frozen cheese ravioli, layered with meat sauce and cheese. Put together in 10 minutes and just as good! I hate olives too. I'd rather eat the cake and leave the frosting lol. And OMGosh, y''all don't like open face roast beef sandwiches? WTH!!!
Oh my goodness an open roast beef sandwich is my favorite. White bread with mashed potatoes smeared on and then the roast beef with gravy on top. 🤤 You have to add lots of pepper and eat with English peas on the side.
Christine! Loved this video!! So glad you added the Q&A portion into your video - it made it so much more interesting! Those dividers in your freezer...did they come with or did you buy them separately? If separate, do you have a link?

It would actually be really fun to see the “typical extreme challenge ingredients” used in non typical ways. The challenge to get super creative and make unexpected recipes with beans or rice etc. would be fun to see. Maybe beans 10 unexpected ways or something
Can I suggest a cookbook challenge? You did a video a while back of your fave cookbooks, but would you be able to eat recipes from one for a week? (I find most cookbooks only have a very few standout recipes, to be honest)
I absolutely love you!! I hate olives too!!! I watch your channel and your husband's channel I just subscribed to. You should let ppl know he has a channel. Men definitely watch your channel too. Not just mom's or women. I love your family because you all are very real and seems down to earth.
One of my boyfriend's favorite meals, especially when he goes hunting, is cold Spaghettios or Chef Boyardee right out of the can. 🤢 This is also the man that hates cake frosting but that works out because I love it so all the stuff he scrapes off his cake I get! 😂
My husband does the same thing except it is cold clam chowder from the can. It is disgusting. He will eat out of the can chef boyardee anything. I do not understand how he is not sick. Human garbage disposals I swear it.
Ha! I like a little frosting with my cake too. Lol! I got caught at a family party, scraping off frosting on another piece of cake to add more to my slice. Worked out well bc the person that caught me likes her cake without frosting.
I LOVE FROSTING IN THE CAN!! Chocolate or Cream Cheese butter cream are my favorites. Love your channel and love this video. Thumbs up all the way from me!

Best video yet! Loved just the freestyle and natural way. You're so genuine! (Also, right? I used to love spaghetti-o's, bought a can in adulthood-blecchhh!) 🤢
I used to like spaghetti-o' s and the ravioli but as an adult I just can't. The vienna sausage too. Straight out of the can. I'd just rinse jelly slime 🤣🤢
No no no no not saturated we can’t get enough extreme meals!!! Lololol you can do it. Be creative and diff - I did one for myself. No one did PB sandwich… I did $20 for two weeks bc I wanted juice and milk. (Worked out to around 1800 cal a day for realsies) Pleeeeeeaaaassseee we will watch
I left a detailed comment under one of that Lisa dawns videos lol. I made the menu. I don’t want to make a video. Lol I did two weeks of 2 weeks for $20. That’s $10 a week for a month. Plus I modified someone’s to use (her prices were from a year ago - eggs 49¢…) and have $50 of $10 weeks in my house right now. Good way to “stock up” without putting food under the bed… lol I’m just realistically prepared.

Well, I didn't say my mom didn't drink her drinks. But the KIDS never had it. ;)
Dietitian * …
That was fun! Have we seen that sun dried tomato dish that Dave mentioned? Could we?
One of my favorite you tube sites. You are so real.
"you just put it in the microwave, I got it at Walmart" 😂😂
OK I had to check out the sodium after you mentioned it being salty. 910! I just started a week ago tracking my macros so I still have alot to learn. I have recently discovered a lot of this stuff has lots of salt. I was going to drink a liquid IV that I bought at Walmart and after seeing the sodium, I ended up pouring it out. I am loving this video!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Oh! Please share the link where you purchased your chest freezer dividers? Thank You!
Eeek! Not only did you answer my question (foods your family made that you refuse to eat now) you guys had so much fun with it ND your answers were great! Love this! I love the q&a type videos with your family! You all are so fun!
Both my parents are right handed, I'm left handed.. my husband right and our kids are a mix.. 2 left 3 right.
i make great pancakes .i egg flour water 50/50 vanilla essence almond essence and small amount half spoon sugar, bakin powder and pince of salt mad on a pan with7 small wells 1 cup four give 21 pancakes and you can eat cold like pikelet
Do you ever add peanutbutter to canned chocolate frosting and then eat it out of container with spoon!
I grew up with the roast beef open sandwiches with gravy. Idk why but my family called it roast beef commercials it was also accompanied by mashed potatoes. To this day I wont eat gravy....
Love the casual videos! Have a super day!
Yours are the only extreme budget videos i watch, so i don't feel saturated, but i see your point.
Christine! Loved this video!! So glad you added the Q&A portion into your video - it made it so much more interesting!
Those dividers in your freezer...did they come with or did you buy them separately? If separate, do you have a link?
They came with!
Love all your videos and your family seems like a lot of fun.thank you for all the ideas and tips.
Christine, where did you buy your white deep freezer dividers? I soooo need some of those!
Hometown homie! I'm from Houston, too! And, now I live in the DFW area! And, in the video with your mom, I found out your grandparents are in Louisiana. Guess what... mine, too! If I weren't 25 years older than you, I'd think we were separated at birth. ~ Lisa
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing your family with us.
I’m left handed, as was my mum (not my sister or dad though). My husband is also left handed and so are our two best friends! ☺️
Love this video! Would love to watch more!
Yay!! Thanks for the Dallas shout out.. Im a Dallas native.. Also, I love your energy
Just signed up for lasagna love. I've been wanting to volunteer in some way, but with 2 toddlers it seemed impossible. Thanks Christine!!
I love it!
Where can I find a freezer organizer like yours? I NEED this for my sanity!!
I LOVE FROSTING IN THE CAN!! Chocolate or Cream Cheese butter cream are my favorites. Love your channel and love this video. Thumbs up all the way from me!
Have you ever made a lasagna out Ravioli's you would layer them with sauce and Shredded cheese
Me and my mom live with her daughter. She made her kids get liver.I had to eat it to.They didn't like either.I told my son try something if he don't like it done eat it.
Fab vlog christine laughed all the way though you and Dave have a wicked sense of humour take care x
That’s for posting that recipe! My partner can’t do tomato sauce without getting wicked heartburn. Excited to try it!!
You probably already know this but on tic too I found a lasagna recipe all you change out for the noodles is deli slice chicken. It perfect.
I love the snacking conversation :)
Power crunch bars are AWESOME especially when bought on a huge clearance.
Omg Jenson Ackles!!!!! Ahhhhh!!! I'm fangirling 😂😂 how did you concentrate??? Ok I'm done 🤣🤣🤣
I literally had to rewind you saying your mom has been a nutritionist for 50 years!!!!! You both are so young in my head lol
I bake ravioli instead of lasagna, so your sauce your meat and or mushrooms, a bag of frozen cheese ravioli cover in cheese, close enough right?
Best video yet! Loved just the freestyle and natural way. You're so genuine! (Also, right? I used to love spaghetti-o's, bought a can in adulthood-blecchhh!) 🤢
I used to like spaghetti-o' s and the ravioli but as an adult I just can't. The vienna sausage too. Straight out of the can. I'd just rinse jelly slime 🤣🤢
I love your attitude towards food, so healthy and well balanced.
You are the BEST Christine...🏆 🏆
What are your freezer organizers? Where are they from?
I need to know where you got your freezer dividers! Please?
I'm ambidextrous, but I could only do a thumbs-up once, lol 😆
I used the Walmart shopping cart online (but in store prices) to be accurate. Then I went and actually bought it all.
I like alfredo lasagna but I make it with chicken or turkey! I don't love pork and it usually upsets my belly in a way you do not want to hear about.
Can relate to being too lazy to make something so you eat a protein bar! I’m sitting on the floor with my 9 month old crawling on me, eating a built bar while watching this video!
