Exhaust Comparison: DYNOMAX Ultra Flow vs FLOMASTER Super 44

- This is a comparison video of the DYNOMAX Ultra Flo SS and the FLOMASTER Super 44 Series mufflers. These two mufflers are on opposite ends of the spectrum as the Ultra Flo is a straight through design made for (in my opinion) performance oriented applications, the Super 44 has baffles similar to a conventional muffler and gives you some performance and still retains some daily driveability. The test mule in this video is a '94 SVT Lightning that had the 5.8 swapped out for a 7.5 liter big block. The truck is a work in progress but it's got potential. Thanks for watching!
And that's the sound of RESTRICTION!!
Honestly. Bro needs exhaust cutouts.
I liked the Dynomax better.
Same
Me too
Dynomax way better flowmaster everyone has them and end up removing them i go with spintech 9000 mufflers
Ultra flow for the win
I have ultra flow on my 71 f100 fe ...i like it waye better than flowmaster
Put the Dynomax back on
As long as it doesn't drone I am down with loud!
You should of just tried a different Dynomax muffler first
That's a good idea. I may need to look into an exhaust comparison video.
@@dickysgarage7120 yes good idea. I have also heard from several people that the welded chambers inside the Flowmaster mufflers do break loose but that is not all the time sometimes they do. One guy had one that was on only 6 years and his broke loose
Well as performance the ultra flows better cfm than flowmaster 44. The ultra flows sound better to me.
Appears your just after sound here - the 44 (chamber) is restrictive for performance - not a lot but it does.
DYNOMAX Ultra Flow were better.
Yeah you're revving it in an echo chamber.... "oh its so loud" ... even the sawsall had you covering your ears. Damn guys hello?? Also, the ones you cut off, sounded better. So theres that. 🎉
hey whats the monte have on it? i h ave the 44's and i hate em
Monte carlo 5spd swap!!! Nice
It was soo much fun to drive
So, you go from one of, if not 'the' freest flowing mufflers to THE single most restrictive?! Ultraflo =1100-2000cfm vs Flowmaster 325-350cfm. At least it sounds good to you now, if that's what you were after. You guys crack me up that pick cams and mufflers based on how they sound instead of perform. More concerned with image. There are ways to quiet the sound and not kill flow by 75%. Turn in your Pep Boys shirt.
You need exhaust cutouts dawg.
DYNOMAX is butter FLOMASTER too quiet make the truck sound weak i be putting DYNOMAX on my Suburban with a 353 small block stock exhaust manifolds straight pipe with cherry bombs is what i have on it and DYNOMAX is going to be the same thing but instead of going straight out the back its going to go out the side i cant wait to put them on soon.
The Dynomax sounded good revving up but sounded like a glasspack going down the road.
@@dickysgarage7120 true
@@NICKSSHOP I bet they sound completely different coming out the side too. Are you uploading before and after results?
@@dickysgarage7120 sorry just saw this and i sure did it sounds good tho.
Like comparing apples to oranges, wonder how a Dynomax X would have sounded.
What cam is that?
Comp Cams 34-255-5. It's supposed to be EFI friendly for speed density EFI system.
And sounds like a cammed 460 big block ford
I guess I missed the part where we compared them 😕
Aww that’s too bad guess you’ll have to find another video that does that
Did you even watch the video stupid
The dynomax are way better! they don't sound like a tin can
Wish you would have done an open pipe right after cutting off the dynomax lol Red Dawg runs no cats, no mufflers, just 2.75" front to rear and 18x4.5 echo tips because F U if you are trying to pass LMAO
If you pass somebody with a heart condition... I wanted to but Kevin was already bitching about the pipe being too hot to work with.
Jesus... he said "weld" ..... 😂😂😂 Dude might as well be a 3 year old throwing play dough at the pipes.... you can always spot amateur welders about 10 miles away. Not only sight, but the sound of inexperience hacking is un-deniable. LOL😅😅
Where are you located in Florida?
West of Tampa in Pinellas.
@@dickysgarage7120 I'm close to you . I'm located in Lakeland. My Dad just gave me his 1994 Ford F150 Flareside and I'm thinking about put a big engine in it. How much does the 460 swap cost?
Depends on how you do it. If you get a donor truck like a f250 you will get most everything you need. So then it would be cost of the donor truck, a custom driveshaft and exhaust.
@@dickysgarage7120 thanks I'm going to start looking around and see what I can find.
Flowmasters Suck ! How can they be any good when you're exhaust inlet flows right into a Wall, prett much every Flowmaster like that, and they got horrible cfm ratings. Put the Dynomax Ultra Flos Back On !!!! Get back that performance that those Flowmasters robbed from you.
You're too rough on your equipment
Flowmaster. I like hearing my stereo
Flow master super 44's are loader plus drone and the Ultra Flows are deeper but throaty with less canister sound. I made the exact opposite switch from 44 to Altra Flow, more cfm and better sound on a 550HP Mopar 440ci motor.
