*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*
I got this, had it for over 3 years. it's been used hard-core since I've had it, even cutting big trees. The only thing that I've changed on it is the bar and that's it. great saw for the price.
@@CaliforniaCarpenter7 still strong my friend, even after 6-7 years of hard use. The only thing I changed was the plastic casing. Well worth the money.
Good video, but I found mounting the bar and chain very fiddly until I figured it out. I’m not convinced the folding screw down handle on the chain change assembly won’t break off eventually because it seems very fragile.
I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
I'VE BOUGHT A COMMERCIAL STIHL FOR CUTTING SANDALWOOD BUT IT TAKES A GREAT EFFORT TO START AND OVERHEATS DURING WARMER DAYS. MY NEW MAKITA IS RELIABLE POWERFUL AND EXTREMELY ECONOMICAL...
The quick tension adjuster is piece of shit and does not work and cannot find instruction for troubleshooting. I guess it's time to say goodbye to Makita chainsaws and hello to stihl

Is it still going strong? Anything burn out, like the ignition?

Great little chainsaw. Been using it medium tree sizes for 12 months now and never missed a beat.
Japanese and German technology = Best knowledge from Europe and Asia.
All of my serious tools i've got are all Makita by all means!
What an excellent video. All about the information. Looks like a great saw.

After owning a Makita EA6100 I wouldn't hesitate to buy this
Assembled properly but can get it to start. What am I doing wrong?
Excellent video. Beautifully put together and a delightful delivery. :) Thanks!
How does this chainsaw oiler work ? Does this saw oils even at idle or is it chain driven ?
