I have series 80 1911 that has been converted into a series 70 so the slide is just empty where the plunger was. Can you guys still cut it for a RMSC optic? It's never going to go back to series 80. Plus it's a beater 1911. It looks like it's been overseas lol. it's scratched dinged and half the blueing is rubbed off and I love it.
Looking to get my slide cut for a 407k. It’s a 4.25 1911 carry. I seen in this video the screw posts stick up for better thread engagement, but on the website it’s just showing a flat cut…how can I be sure my slide will be cut with screw hole posts and indexing boss posts…? Just trying to make sure I am able to get that cut and not just the flat cut with the 2 screw holes flush with the bottom of the optic cut…thanks!!
Good question. We have generally done away with screw post for 1911 cuts for 2 reasons. First, many 1911s have Novak iron sights which are around 6mm deep. In order to use screw post, we need to mill to a depth of around 7.5mm. This causes an issue with the top of the slide obstructing the window of the optic. The second reason is that the hole size for different optics, even if the same make and model, can vary greatly. Too loose and it's useless, too tight and you're married to that optic for life; even if it breaks. Recognizing this, we no longer use them on 1911s. Instead, we increased the thread depth and ALWAYS use indexing bosses. We will not cut a slide without indexing post. Hopefully this helps. GTTS
You got it. Actually, since this video was posted, we’ve had a few developments. We now have every Cerakote elite series and H series color in stock which are applied by certified Cerakote Applicators in under a week. Additionally, we now offer Trijicon and Holosun optics in-house. If you have your own Optic, great. If not, let us know and we can get one for you for less than you’ll pay anywhere else. Please feel free to contact us at any time via email, The chat function on our website or by phone. 336-223-6055 Thanks, GTTS
Question; When someone has an optic cut done, your site has a Cerakote option for the slide. Is that for the whole slide being refinished or just where the milling has been done?
@@greenticktacticalsolutions1080 I realize it was kind of a dumb question, But as I’m sure you know you just have to make sure, the way things are nowadays!
@@Daddy53751 Elite Series is applied thinner and has slightly better abrasion / corrosion resistance. It has more of a slick feeling and a slight gloss. Nothing sticks to Elite Series; including other elite colors. As a result, it’s not well suited for layering or patterns. It’s generally a single color only option. H series also has fantastic abrasion and corrosion resistance but isn’t as slick. It has a more matte appearance and can be layered for pattern work. H series also has hundreds of color options whereas Elite has less than 20. If you’re only looking for a single color, and you like one of the elite colors, I prefer elite. If you’re looking for a more custom design or have a specific color in mind, H series may be best.
I'm 100% cool with optics on a 1911 (considering sending my slide for this work... Considering...), and I'm certain there is a market. But, it's... I guess I'm saying I'm gonna get a lot of s#!t when I put one on mine. I can hear it now, "you can't put an optic on a 1911, it's sacrilege!" Lol
Highly recommended GTTS for slide milling! Jesse helped me get my Kahr CW9 milled for a 507k and it's been amazing! Looking at getting a 1911 soon and will for sure send it in if I decide to get it cut @greenticktacticalsolutions1080
Possibly. It’ll largely depend on what kind of rear sight you have. If you have the adjustable rear sight, the 507k is not an option for direct mount; however, the RMRCc can be. Reach out to us when you get a chance and we can discuss available options for your slide. 336-223-6055 Thanks, GTTS
I can watch precision milling like this, all day long. This video sold me - my Kahr cw45 is going under the knife at Green Tick, asap.
Sent them my RIA 10mm slide and EDC sight. They sent an email that it was received. Cant wait to get it back.

Do you now work with the v2 holsuns

We Cerakote the entire slide unless it is specifically requested that we only coat the pocket.

I see you offer both, what’s the difference between H series and Elite series,
And which one do I want?

Do you offer some kind of rear sight cut for co-witnessing?
They may be out of business. They have had my slide for 4 months and won't answer the phone.
