    I literally go over my new vehicles detail oriented. I’m on my back under the vehicle, I use a sun light to inspect the paint, I’m looking everywhere in the interior in the engine bay. Minimum 1 hour. But I’ve been an aircraft mechanic for 20 years so attention to detail is in my frame of mind. Everything I find is documented and owed to me. Take your time and inspect your vehicle folks.

    We are still using winter gas, summer gas is coming and mpg will be better I have the exact same truck, color and options. I am currently getting about 20mpg in town, 22 hwy. (speed limit driving) my issues have been, Apple car play sync up sometimes clitchy, the wireless charger works only when phone is not in a case and must be as far to the passenger side as possible and even then it’s a slow charge. I am disappointed in the towing mpg. I just towed a 2k trailer across country and back (6k miles) and averaged 14 mpg hwy. This truck is crazy comfortable. With massage seats, semi autonomous driving and the seat and suspension comfort I did 800-1000 miles a day no problem while towing at speed limit to 5 under, day after day, no stiffness or pains (and I am 60 with recent back surgery and shattered pelvis! ) This is a road trip monster! As for the pimple, Yea, I would not be happy. I have good news and bad news for you on the paint. Bad: pearl paint is almost impossible to match or blend, at some angle or another it won’t match because you have to have the exact same amount of pearl and metallic flake as original and have the paint sprayed at exact same air pressure. Good news: it’s the hood so it is a horizontal panel next to vertical panels (fenders) that will hide any minor differences IF painted by a good painter and the entire hood is painted. You can’t spot paint and blend pearl paint

    • @ramolifee
      @ramolifee  3 года назад

      Wow I had no idea there was a difference in seasons for gas! Yes the charger is very hit or miss but I’ll try to push it to the passenger side thanks! Agree the truck is incredibly comfortable I can drive around the country with this thing. Once I get it back finally from paint I can enjoy mine with you

      I have the same issues w/ Apple carplay along with the infotainment system in general - that being said - now it works great and usually goes back to where I originally left it when I turn the truck off. In my research, the AI built into the screens, etc. learns where you want the settings over time - it does work! Also, the carplay is in general not the truck, but the phone and software working to sync back up. All in all, I cannot imagine going back to 2002 as far as this truck is concerned.

    I have had my 2021 for a week now - 1000 miles - I got 22 on first tank and about 24.5 on second tank. Even though these are "ready to go", you have to let it get broken in a bit before you go too far with the mileage complaints. I will tell you that driving into the wind will definitely lower you MPG, but overall you should get in the low to mid 20s without a problem. Now, let me say - you have to be fairly conservative to get those numbers, no stomping on the gas - going 80, etc. the mileage just won't happen. But easy city and steady freeway 70 to 75 and 24 MPG is easy. Highway can even be higher. I have heard of issues with the paint, mine is very good. I am very happy with this truck -

      You are right about being conservative with the throttle to get best mpg. On my Ford explorer if I want to conserve fuel I engage cruise control when I reach 25 mph and set it to max 65 mph if on highway. One thing I like about the F150 you guys have is you can engage the cruise control at 15 mph minimum, and it has the adaptive cruise for traffic jam driving too!

    Was signing the paperwork on my limited powerboost and salesman comes in and says there was a problem with the paint. We walked out and under the lights the entire passenger side had faulty paint, (silver color did not appear to have enough sprayed on as you could see lighter color underneath the silver, at an angle view). Declined the purchase and fortunately they had an identical one without the lay flat seats, which I purchased the following day, (come to find out wife and I like the way the regular seats feel much better, so that worked out). Have had the truck almost three months now. If you want the high mileage 24-28mpg you can get it driving in 45-55mph range. The electric will kick in periodically increasing mileage.
    Have to say though ,I absolutely LOVE the truck. Mechanically everything is working so perfectly im just waiting for "Murphy" to mess something up.

      I agree, somewhere there is the magic best mpg speed, but I think it is too slow and waste of time, mainly because time is money and saving a few bucks is not worth most people's time. I kind of like to drive slow for a short drive like 15 min and watch the mpg and go back to normal 70-75 mph speed just to see how much I could of saved versus time saved.

    • @TheSchleeb
      @TheSchleeb 3 года назад

      You nailed it on the MPG issue... I agree. I can get it to cycle in and out of electric mode at just over 50 mph, but who drives those speeds. My wife used to have a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid engine with the tiny battery pack. It would go 2 miles or so on highway in electric mode then it would cycle on and off if you kept it under 60 MPH. THEN Ford did a software upgrade and put the point at which it would allow you to drive to about 70 mph and you could still get it to cycle the battery on and off. One other thing that I've had with my 2011 and 2017 3.5 EcoBoost F-150s I've had is the gas mileage is absolutely horrible when it gets cold out. If you can pull 15 mpg on the highway when the temp is 0 degrees your a better driver than me. Gets even lower when you get to 10 to 15 below... high 12s to low 13s. Its remarkable. Noticed this driving from Seattle to Minneapolis in the winter time. My first thought was that with the all aluminum engine it just never gets warmed up properly??? Stopped at a gas station is Montana once, when it was about 10 below and another customer asked me if my gas mileage dropped dramatically when cold... he had the same issue.
