Number 1 still my favourite! Thanks for having me back ✨
Everyone else was busy making videos that haven't already been made years ago by literally every doctor who channel ever
Crispy!!! You stole my dream job! I’m equal parts jealous and kinda stoked that you’re on who culture! I think I could be pushed firmly into stoked if you start saying moffat’s last name right! Lucky we love you anyway!
My favorite thing is logging onto RUclips to watch something to pass the time and there’s a brand new WhoCulture video. 🤪
Nice catch.
One of the things i never noticed before re watching is you know when Clara’s tells the doctor in under the lake that he basically he took apart the radio to build a clockwork squirrel. That squirrel is on top of 12s guitar amplifier in before the flood
Hear me out all the way through, though it is a HUGE stretch: Let’s assume Clara’s mom died during the auton invasion during Rose. We know that Clara enters the doctor’s time-stream and appears all throughout his life. So, theoretically, it is possible that Clara had gone back to the auton invasion and had to figure out whether she could save her mother or not, she could’ve run into a younger version of herself, etc. there’s a whole storyline here!!
I don't think that's what they implied with the Impossible girl. Since Clara stepped into the Doctor's timestream, she had to be in his vicinity, so no wander of to do her own business. During the Auton attack the 9th Doctor was speaking with the Nestene Conscience, so he wasn't at the point of Clara's mum's death, thus wasn't Clara either. She entered the Doctor's timestream to save HIM, no one else.
The Dalek blackout covers... They are on the action figures of them. One has them, one does not. Both have the Union Flag where their nametag should be. That's a nice touch, for about 1/12 scale.
It's nice to hear Crispy again!
That WW2 Dalek detail is great, I never noticed that but it just makes sense
Wooohooo!
I love the concept of having Clara's mum being killed by the autons during their attack in the series 1 episode Rose! There's also a prequel minisode before the series 7 episode The Bells of Saint John where people believe that at the end where the younger clara is talking to her mum, someone in the background in the park they're in shouts out "jackie", which would be rose's mum. There is also two kids who run past the eleventh doctor and the younger clara when they're on the swings who resemble a young rose and mickey. A lot of people believe that clara grew up either on or near the Powell Estate so she possibly knew of rose and mickey and ellie oswald may have even spoken to jackie tyler at some point. Who knows though, it's probably unlikely, but a fun theory! 😂 Great video Crispy and Who Culture! 😊
Except Clara has a northern accent...
@@anniesharp4871 Oh I know it's just a fun theory! 😊😊
@@hollymatton474 I agree! 😊
@@anniesharp4871 Doesn't she explicitly say she's from Blackpool? Could have moved tho
@@basilbrush9075 yeah I think she does now you come to mention it!
The dalek blackouts is one I certainly missed.
Magpie and International Electromatics need to have a price war.
How did I never realize that Cassandra was the same actress as Madam Hooch from Harry Potter 😂😂 MOISTURIZE ME
One thing i just realised is that in the bells of saint john they are looking for the TARDIS, and they say that earls court was an embarrassment, this is a reference to the fact that earls court contains the one of the only remaining police boxes in london, and in fact on google maps, you can go inside!
An after years, I finally notice the museum in Big Bang is the National Museum Cardiff. The same museum from Vincent and the Doctor.
I could be wrong but I think its also the same museum they used for the Mona Lisa episode in SJA
It is mostly filmed in Cardiff you know.
In the Bell’s of Saint John, the book Clara hands that child is written by Amelia Williams (Amy Pond)
And even better, that book actually exists. I've read it a few times already, it's fantastic
Love crispy working with who culture❤❤
Thank you!!
Glad to hear Crispy here too. Great list btw.
Woooo!!!
That Magpie reference omg I didn't connect but I felt something 😮😮
Working as a set decorator/prop master on a few low budget films for a production company, I always try and put in a few Easter Eggs. Like in one movie we had zombies and in the last scene one of them had an arm fall off. I still remember the EWWS! and YUCKS! when the scene was played for the public! I kept the prop and in our next film there was a scene in a workshop that had a table saw in frame. SO I put the severed arm on the table saw.
Add a picture of the WhoCulture logo somewhere in the background of a shot, go on, you know you want to...
Awesome job crispy. The only one I've actually noticed before was the Magpie Electricals.
Thank you!
I'm pretty sure magpie even made appearances in the spinoffs. Don't count me on that one though.
Some Magpie equipment, along with Dalek 'Tommy guns' can be seen in Torchwood's Cardiff HQ.
This is a great video, so many Easter eggs I’ve missed!
For Magpie Electricals, the logo is even on the back of the Eleventh Doctor's TARDIS monitor in his first console room. Not sure why the TARDIS would have an Earth branded bit of tech, but it's a fun little Easter egg
Yeah that's very strange - good catch!
Yeah, I mean isn't all the stuff inside the TARDIS supposed to be grown from Block Matrix Calculus or something?
The old coral console was compiled of bits and pieces the doctor used to replace parts that had broken over time using earth technology, perhaps some of that could have been reintegrated for the following copper console
Wow, I actually missed most of these. Great video
Oh man Crispy Pro i never knew you worked with Who Culture!!
We're besties hehe
1:12 that's not the only connection, I believe there was a line by the Master talking about Lazarus' machine, I think in reference to the big post-resurrection special.
It's not the "post-resurrection" aka The end of time part 1 and 2, it's during the "year, that never was" aka The sound of drums, when the Master first uses his laser screwdriver to supress the Doctor's regeneration and artificially age him in the process, he talks about the Lazarus experiment as being incorporated into the screwdriver.
Oh these were fabulous but I'm really taken with the last one, that's incredibly well done 😮😍❤️
#1 - This is two sentences in Circular gallinacean .... the Lazarus Logo is like a set of placeholders for words in a sentence ...
Fun finds in such a wide swing of episodes. 💜
Fascinating, thank you.
Second! Also, this is a great video! Well done on it, and I always really enjoy WhoCulture and TrekCulture, as they always act as a nice, comforting channel!
This was such a fun video!
I definitely noticed the covered dome lights and the master's ring design the first time.
That was fun, thanks!
According to Terry Nation the flashing Dalek lights are venting excess energy as heat, so maybe not the best idea to stick socks over them...
That Hary Potter book was something I would have never noticed. Especially since it is blurry.
I mean, I spotted three of these on first viewing(s). And a further two on subsequent viewings.
*But* that's five things I didn't spot, so 👍
Another Who Culture with the whovian fabulous @CripsyPro - you spoil us!
Thank you!
I've long been of the opinion that the "classic TARDIS" we've seen in so many recent episodes are all the one they made for An Adventure in Space and Time, and they just kept it for whenever they need a retro model.
I agree - although the Tardis console prop in An Adventure in Space and Time was painted a lime green. This was correct for the era as it was to ensure it appeared white when filmed on black and white film stock. They must have painted the console for modern day use in Doctor Who. I am really pleased they brought back the classic era console. I personally prefer it to the more elaborate Tardis set of new era Who.
Hey Crispy! ❤
heyyyy
I think the "talking trampoline" looks more like a tanning hide.
Crispy is awesome
You are awesome!
This is the first fact video ive seen where the circle saying (you missed) is NOT click bait AND actually shows in the video
👏
Maybe its just the videos i end up coming across idk haha
Enjoyed this tho
Ayyyy Crispy
Ayyyyyy
SPOILER from classic Doctor Who ahead!
I told my sister, a nuWhovian only, that since she doesn't watch the classic series she's missed the meaning of at least a couple of things in the current series (both from "The Stolen Earth"):
1. One of the missing planets is "Calufrax Minor." Now, when Calufrax is mentioned in Douglas Adams' "The Pirate Planet", it doesn't have "Minor" on it but the 4th Doctor knows the planet/moon, says it's a "icy, cold tiny little world" (paraphrasing). So the 10th Doctor must know what happened to Calufrax! (And that it wasn't stolen by the Daleks.)
2. When 10 and Donna first discover the Earth is gone but the TARDIS is in the same point in space, the Doctor mutters to himself how he'd only seen this happen one time before. That references the first story in "The Trial of a Time Lord", Sixth Doctor, after the Time Lords shift the Earth two light years from its current position. At least the Daleks had the decency to put a protective shell around the planet!
A Dalek is not a true Dalek unless it has a plunger... ;-P
WoW!!
These were all Fantastic! For number 9 I thought you’d mention The Face of Bo(Boe?), he’s only on screen for a split second but oh man talk about some major foreshadowing!
The Ironside Dalek’s blackouts wasn’t a detail you missed if your bought the figure, like a cool person! 😎
…I-I…I never got a chance to buy it…I didn’t get many toys as a child 😢
Well, this comment certainly took a turn!
CRISPY?!
WHATTT
@@CrispyPro SINCE WHEN WERE YOU ON WHOCULTURE!! CONGRATS!!
Pretty much EVERYONE noticed Ellie's death date in Rings of Akhaten.
Martha also had a Magpie Electricals tv in The Sound of Drums. As 10 scans the internet in The Runaway Bride the Magpie logo pops up, River Song uses a Magpie scanner in Day of the Moon, Voyage of the Damned features a Magpie-branded microphone and 11's new console monitor, typewriter, keyboard and one of the controls are branded Magpie Electricals.
In The Idiot's Lantern the tv arials are shaped like Swastikas
I didn't even notice the Harry Potter book!
I did notice the Doctor in the museum in The Big Bang
More Magpie posters in "The Faceless Ones" airport hall - colour recreation with the 2nd Doctor
More crispy
More crisp!
8:52 Slippery bastard
The "first/final" thing was just a misspeak. How can I (especially I) judge that? But....
The Playstation 2 was my favorite console ever. What are you trying to say?
P.S. I don't like hearing "Ellie" and "death" so close together. Makes my tummy all rumbly. Among other things...
7:46 This character was also an interesting Easter egg in season/series 2, Episode 1 (New Earth) because Zoë Wanamaker and David Tennant were both in Harry Potter.
It's not quite this but in the original Who- Ther Terror of the Zygon's the brigadier early on tells the Doctor "You know, Just once i'd like to face an alien menace that isn't immune to bullets." At the climax of the story-as the zygon leader is strangling doctor #4, he's stopped by the brigadier-empitying his pistol into the monster-who wasn't immune to bullets.
Yay first comment! First time I've done that lol
I didn’t notice that the televisions in the wire weren’t era appropriate until I watched this video. Monochrome TV didn’t have mateices of phosphors!

One thing almost nobody ever notices, and it took someone pointing it out to me. I'm surprised they don't make a bigger deal about it in the news...
[spoilers below]
Every once in a while, they change the actor playing the lead character. Mind blown, amirite? THAT'S why they keep referring to the Doctor by a number.
What makes you think the Auton invasion happened on 5 March? The episode was broadcast on 26 March, 3 weeks later.
episode broadcast date ≠ date the episode is set in. it's a show about time travel. it also says it in the episode.
@@daiyahigashikata I know that, but where did 5 march come from?
Churchill would have used the Daleks...H wasn't intrested in PEACE only his own glory as in Gallipoli in the first world War....
this is my first viewing of a whatculture video.
*final
okay. A selection of episodes that require a rewatch. The Magician's Apprentice, Heaven Sent, and then Timeless Children. Watch those three episodes and you will see the connection.
I found Let's Kill Hitler to be disappointing overall as the whole evil River thing was undone so quickly, also I don't get why the Master/Harold Saxon's wife would want to bring him back to life after he was defeated; she & the universe were free of him, maybe I'll have to watch it again
I remember her resisting right before the Master was revived, though.
His “wife” never wanted him back. She warned people that he’s not who he seems in the end of time part 1.
She didn't. He had a cult of followers that wanted to bring him back, but she knew about the plan and worked to disrupt it, but she wasn't able to do so completely.
@@antney7745 yeah; that's why he came back all distorted - it's been a while since I've seen it & thought she was instrumental in the process of bringing him back, could have just destroyed the ring or entrusted it to the Doctor though lol; still a really great two parter though & send off for Tenant, that bit where the Master was everyone blew my mind
Very nice. I also notice nothing ties into the Jodi seasons. Like the writing and connections sort of died out as they decided to write whatever delusion crap they came up with.
Unless, of course, you live in the real world, where precisely none of that is true.
@@DrWhoFanJ And yet again!
I'm making it my mission to alert everyone about your unnecessary attitude
You have a right to your own opinion about Dr Who and you have a right to disagree with others opinions about Dr Who but you do not engage in meaningful respectful debate.
Instead you make the most inflammatory provocative and patronisingly dismissive and ARROGANT comments as if you and you alone know all about what's right with Dr Who and you insult others intelligence.
I'm beginning to suspect that you would make a good Dalek!
@@aw-h3875 I do not have any attitude, nor is anything I say “inflammatory provocative and patronisingly dismissive and ARROGANT”.
If you state as fact something that is objectively untrue, then any logical person reading such a text will be morally obligated to point out said untruth (provided they themselves realise it).
If you don’t like that outcome, then the only viable solution is to not do things that will absolutely cause it.
@@DrWhoFanJ the word 'It' is a euphemism for the act of sexual intercourse.
Do you get it now?
@@aw-h3875 I suspected that was what you were meaning, which is why I carefully phrased my response as seeing no cause for humour in my previous comment, not that I did not get the childish immature joke you were making.
Zoe Wanamaker is in only the first HP film because when Warner Brothers refused to share the wealth with the cast she told them to do one. Up th workers
Came here to smugly proclaim that I recognised the Dalek earsocks in the thumbnail right when they were broadcast ... hadn’t noticed any of the other stuff 🤓
It is nice when they can bring things together like that. But I still cannot get over one mistake they made in Mat Smith episodes. On the demons run episode when the Doctor talked to the newborn Melody Pond Amy was referred to as a source of milk. Yet on the very next episode the Dalek asylum the Doctor could not work out where Claira would be able to get fresh milk for her souffles. Hint from her breasts, she could milk herself.
Sometimes it's okay to keep our thoughts to ourselves Darren
That would pretty much require her to have been pregnant. It doesn't just come out like a tap, yanno.
Thank - you . ( 2023 / June / 16 )
Please learn how to pronounce German so that it's at least comprehensible. Had no idea what that opera was until the translation was given and then realized you were trying to give English pronunciation to German text. Does not work.
Hm. No I did not. Thank you.
its really frustrating and infuriating how they ruined this show with woke wahmen ideology by replacing Capaldi with what is easily the worst actor to disgrace the character and the worst written and most insulting episodes in the series history.
No, it’s frustrating and infuriating whiny bigots like you are still reeing this nonsensical gibberish six whole years after you started. Have you really not found anything productive to do with your time in that long‽
@@DrWhoFanJ You can't stop can you.
You must really get off on being horrible to people online.
Perhaps if you were 'doing it' in real life you wouldn't be such an ********
@@aw-h3875 Well, given that I am never horrible to anyone (online or offline), I really do not see how you can reach such an illogical conclusion.
Maybe if you had a working brain inside your head, you could actually function within the real world rather than whatever nonsensical deranged delusions currently fill your head cavity.
@@DrWhoFanJ Head cavity lol!
Read your comment again, very carefully.
See the irony...
Or do I have to explain that to you as well sigh
@@aw-h3875 I do not see any irony in my comment. This is because there isn’t any.
