    Don't forget that in the brilliant Doctor Who episode Turn Left, Buckingham Palace was destroyed by the futuristic space Titanic, crashing on it the 10th Doctor had already been killed by that point having died underneath the River Thames attempting to save London and the Earth from the Racnoss. The Doctor was killed before he could regenerate.
    Donna was not there to stop him going to far in her bubble alternate universe timeline because she had never met him.
    Turn Left is the what might have been, but is one of the standout episodes of Doctor Who for any era.

    RTD kills all the interesting characters.
    Moffat refuses to kill anyone.
    Those writers meetings must've been fun.

    • @pettytyrant2720
      @pettytyrant2720 Год назад +14

      Mmm lets look at state of play at end of each showrunners time:
      RTD - Rose, stranded in parallel universe till she isnt, then alive with her entire family and her own human version of the Doctor. Rose's dad effectively resurrected from the dead, remarried to Jackie and with a new child. Jackie alive and well, and a mother again. Capt Jack cant die, ever. Mickey, left in a parallel universe till he isnt, alive and well. Martha, alive and well working for UNIT. Donna, cant remember the Doctor but alive, happily married and presumably rich from winning the lottery.
      Moffat- Amy and Rory, dead in the past. Clara, gets some extra time with Me, but ends up dead on Trap Street. River Song, dead. Bill, turned into a cyberman then a space ghost. Nardole, presumably dead, defending the humans from the inevitable cybermen attack.
      I never understand the view RTD killed off characters and Moffat didnt, its the exact opposite. Moffat killed just about everyone, RTD no one. In RTD era everyone gets a sickly sweet happy ending, in Moffat era you're doing well to get a bitter-sweet one.

    • @Jamestopboy
      @Jamestopboy Год назад +15

      No, no. Moffat kills everyone. He just doesn’t KEEP them dead.

    • @pettytyrant2720
      @pettytyrant2720 Год назад +4

      @@Jamestopboy Clara gets a swansong but she is still dead dead by end of it. Same with River, she gets to be a data ghost for a bit but she is still dead, her body fried up in the library. Amy and Rory might get to live out their lives till they die, but they still die. Only Bill gets an actual return to life afterwards, and shes never technically dead in the first place, just converted to a cyberman.
      So if the question is which showrunner killed of the most main characters its clearly Moffat, none of RTD's die and every single one gets a super happy ending, well except the Doctor.

    Not really related, but I had the thought recently that Clara is now basically immortal and she and Me could spend centuries having adventures around the universe before she returned to Trap Street at the moment she left. She obviously did eventually because time wasn't fractured. If nothing else, it would give her a chance to see her family one last time and maybe explain what was happening to her so they didn't spend the rest of their lives wondering what happened to her.

    With AWESOMENESS that is RTD, what I think would be cool, is having an Alternate Universe Sarah Jane somehow come to Our Universe (maybe having Angela Cartwright from Lost in Space fame; or April Walker, who was chosen before the Lovely Elizabeth Sladen), granted she doesn't die, but we could kick-off another Sarah Jane Adventures while exploring how this version navigates Our universe while noting the difference.

    I have to disagree with RTD on the last one. I think Rose having been the beast would’ve added some interesting stakes and when it comes to dream sequences I think it’s down to how they’re executed and approached. Look at Amy’s choice as an example of it done well.

      Technically, he is King of England. But he shouldn't be referred to as if that is his title. He's also King of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the overseas territories and dependencies.
      That's as of when I typed this. The way things are going in the UK, he could end up as the King of The Home Counties, Scots over the age of 65 and the Isle of Sheppy.

      @toast99bubbles I said it wasn't his title, but he is still the monarch reigning over England. Just as he's the monarch reigning over the other places. If someone said "Who is the English people's king" we wouldn't say "We don't have one when we're being English, but we do when we are being subjects of the UK."

The title they went by was Queen because they were women, but the role they were in was King because that's the specific name of the role, whilst the role of Queen is for the wife of the King (hence why Prince Phillip just had the title of Prince, calling him King Phillip would have implied he was in the role of King, when he wasn't).

      Literally everything in your statement is objectively untrue nonsense.

      Dude, chill. They haven't even released a single new episode yet.
      Also, there are a *lot* of contenders for when the show did or didn't go to shit, depending on who you ask.

    1:37 I’m sorry but 65 isn’t a ‘far too young age’. I’ve had grandparents pass in their 70’s and my mother pass at an actual young age of 47… It is most certainly terrible how Sladen passed, and she was more than deserving of being around longer than she was. Moreover, it doesn’t change the fact she wasn’t young. Please, take some consideration when writing these video scrips
