I’ve been a preferred customer for almost a year now and nearly all my fluids in all vehicles are amsoil. I love it. I will never go back and now you’ll be my amsoil guy thank you very much sir you keep my faith strong.
I hope that Amsoil will make signature series 0w16 line once 0w16 is in popular demand. I’ve also learned that Japan has been using 0w16 since the 90’s, it may be new to the states but Japan has been using that viscosity ever since.
@@Syntheticoilprotection I learned that information from another Amsoil specialist like yourself named Ches Cain. If you’re interested in checking out his RUclips channel, it’s Amsoil synthetic warehouse and dealer.
I'm sure , within the last year (2 years?) Amsoil changed the viscosity of the 100%, 0W-20 so it's thinner than previous 0W-20. It now flows easier, reducing or eliminating the cold-start rattle in my 5.7. A test someone needs to develop is: A see-through engine lube system including the pump, filter, and appropriate-sized oil galley (1/8 inch?) to see when filters open and close with cold oil and when oil reaches the VVT system, and chain tensioners. I would do what I could to support you on this.
@@TheCeki1982 This is great!! We could use plexiglass on the front engine cover to see how -40 oil lubes the timing chain and controls the VVT. Also use a clear oil filter to see how long it takes for the oil to go through the filter media.
Yes, but it’s not as bad if you use say a 0w30 or a 10w30 in a 5w30 engine but it’s not a great idea. Your owners manual will tell you what oils you can use based on the temperatures the car will see.
@NyCad 5w-20 is lighter/thinner than 5w-30 at full operating temperature. 5w is the winter cold rating/thickness and the 20 or 30 is the hot thickness. At full operating temperature, the 20 oil may not offer as much protection as the 30 for your specific engine, but it's okay temporarily. SOMETIMES the opposite scenario causes more issues for certain engines though. Sometimes putting a 30 oil in a 20 engine can cause a lack of protection because the 30 oil may or may not be able to slip through small sections because it may be too thick to pass through small holes/gaps.
It depends on your situation and application meaning if you're just idling and not doing any high pressure driving most likely that's not going to do anything If you're doing high temperature racing where the oil thins out you definitely wouldn't want to run a thinner oil. So there's definitely things that come into play That's why you'll see most racing oils are a 15w50 racing oil and that has less of the cold flow additives and it holds up a lot better and high heat You keep your film strength and you also hold higher oil pressure which is beneficial to keeping everything lubricated. Moving one viscosity really won't do a whole lot except change your fuel mileage if you moved to viscosities that could definitely change the way your motor wears and the only way to know how much the where is is if you do oil analysis and you would have to test it and see if you're doing any type of damage to your motor. That would be the only way to do it scientifically to know exactly what's going on. You'll see we have a bunch of playlists on the channel with oil analysis which you can check out on the homepage of the channel

That's a great question Amsoil builds lubricants for specific applications they make a oil that flows amazing in the cold it's called Signature Series that has a super high-end additive package for cold flow additives. Also Amsoil is 100% synthetic so as it oxidizes it doesn't wear out like the other synthetic blend oils so other oil companies May overcompensate by adding more cold flow additives to keep the lubricant flowing well in the cold as it oxidizes where the Amsoil will hold up better over the course of the oil change interval but if you're looking for the best cold flow oil you want to get the signature series. For normal driving conditions the OE and XL oil are incredible and they are still 100% synthetic but they do not have extra cold flow additive packages for -60° below zero. This video is virgin oil unused if you oxidized the Amsoil in the Honda oil for say 2,000 miles and came back and did the cold flow test potentially the Amsoil could flow better because the lubricant is 100% synthetic and it will not wear the same as the synthetic blend so that it could actually protect your engine significantly better in the cold then the Honda oil potentially you would have to do the test to confirm it and that is how Amsoil is so different is it holds up longer without oxidizing and thickening and losing its additive packages they keep the lubricant working the way it's intended. @@Syntheticoilprotection should be able to get it at any auto parts store. Been around since the 1980's. It's an oil additive. But. I don’t own a vehicle that requires the 0w-16. I use the 0w-20 and the 5w-30 signature series and was just curious. No doubt it’ll be the best when they do start.
Yeah it's primarily the additive for cold flow additives That's the only reason the Honda was a little better. Amsoil has their signature series which has a lot more cold flow additives which is designed for the super extreme temperatures flowing at negative 60 plus degrees Fahrenheit below zero
Switched from Motorcraft Synthetic Blend for the last parts of summer Mobil then another change with Mobil for the Winter not sure but I can't wait for the negative temperatures so I can see how shifty my 1.6 sounds lol
Oh yeah they were pretty close the additive package for the Honda has a little bit more of the cold flow additives and that's what the signature series has the most of and that's why it flows so well in the cold. Most people that live in mild environments using the Amsoil OE are in great shape now if you lived in Churchill Canada you'd want to use the signature series 😉
Change it every 5000 miles or less. Don't matter what you use. Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline will all work. Running your car 7500 miles and beyond before changing is dumb. Motor oil is cheap engines are not. Amsoil isn't cheap.

I don’t own a vehicle that requires the 0w-16. I use the 0w-20 and the 5w-30 signature series and was just curious. No doubt it’ll be the best when they do start.
Definitely Honda full synthetic is good but not like Amsoil that is 100% pure synthetic oil. 👌
Yeah it's primarily the additive for cold flow additives That's the only reason the Honda was a little better.
Amsoil has their signature series which has a lot more cold flow additives which is designed for the super extreme temperatures flowing at negative 60 plus degrees Fahrenheit below zero
Very nice!!! They are the best
💯🎬😊
I wonder who Honda has make their oil.
ConocoPhillips
What ethnicity are you bro

@@Syntheticoilprotection
Lol. What does that mean?
@@Syntheticoilprotection Me too!
@@timetowakeup6302 I'm a mix as well
Switched from Motorcraft Synthetic Blend for the last parts of summer Mobil then another change with Mobil for the Winter not sure but I can't wait for the negative temperatures so I can see how shifty my 1.6 sounds lol
👍's up for honda 0w16 Eben it looks like you slapped harder on the honda quart bottle than amsoil. Maybe that's why amsoil didn't win.
😆😁
forbidden caramel
😁
Dang Honda beats Toyota and Amsoil only in cold flow
Oh well. The Amsoil was 2 degrees colder, though. :))
But seriously not many areas get under -0 Celsius, you’ll be alright guys. Just stick with amsoil always
It's startling how many places are well below 0° very scary
I only know that after doing these videos and hearing all the people that tell me how cold it is where they live it makes my butt cheeks pucker 😄😁😆
Lmao! U killed me Man! 🤣
😉😁😊👍
Honda did way better than Toyota
And oil is better than all
Change it every 5000 miles or less. Don't matter what you use. Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline will all work. Running your car 7500 miles and beyond before changing is dumb. Motor oil is cheap engines are not. Amsoil isn't cheap.
There is no way man
Amsoil not for HONDA stay OEM HONDA OIL .
Amsoil can be used in any type of vehicles or equipment👍
