- There are many legs to the crisis in Rivers State. The order that was given by the Rivers State High Court reaffirmed its earlier order to stop the Chief Judge of the state from recognising the 25 defectors as Lawmakers until the matter is being determined by a court of competent jurisdiction

Yes, those were deliberate tricks to provoke the guest and make him angry and lose control, in order to get him to fight back with insulting language against Wike. These are psychological tactics. Unfortunately for them, the guest remained calm, controlled his emotions, and shared his views. He deserves an award from Arise and his constituency. As for Abati calling a PHd holder a capenter - shows he needs to do better preparationa and research on the persons he is interveiwig.

Mr. Reuben Abati made a caricature of the gentleman which is completely an aberration of professional conduct which he preaches against. Dr. Orji spoke well, despite being insulted he remained focused. Kudos to him. That's a plus one on his personality 🎉🎉🎉.

Rueben accused the guest of allegedly being from a carpentry background, but became humbled after the guest informed him that he has a PhD too. If you noticed, Rueben's approach became more respectful.

I would have ended the interview at the point and walk away. Even if he was a carpenter and so what? Abati claims to be a professional, but he makes such gaffees regularly. If Rufai is pressuring a government official or one of his friends during an interview, he quickly cuts him off. But he does his own harassment unabated

The context in which it was used wasnt in reference to how the guest got his phd. It was used in the sense of "as chance would have it, the guest is a phd holder", the poster if at all, fired a subtle shot at Reuben Abati. "Incidentally" here was used to mean, reuben wanted to speak condescendingly about his academics but as chance will have it, met a phd holder sitting before him...it has nothing to do with "incidental phd" as you stated.

This guest wasn't a push over,as a resident in Rivers State and my kind of job i know the guest a bit but he i never knew he was dis intelligent and eloquent,He and Nwanosike worked tirelessly in the last election for Fubara and Tinubu to emerge, despite that the rig the election for Tinubu in the state but i just love how he is standing up against tyranny and oppressive tendencies of wike and Nwanosike

I do not like the ways that Dr. Abati was trying to set up the guest by putting words into his mouth. Nevertheless, the interviewee is a very clever man and didn't fall into the traps. Wike should eat his words. Abuja influence should not interfere with an independent state. Leave the people of Rivers State to live in peace. DR.Abati, the chairman did not say the state high court has superiority over the federal appeal court. He said the judgements are of different matters. The Appeal court judgement also did not recognize the 24 former lawmakers. It vacated the state high court injunction of a particular date, but please by law the 24 former lawmakers are not recognized by law.

Martins Amaewhule is the current speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly as it stands, because of a judgment of the Abuja Federal High Court (FHC/ABJ/CS/1613/2023) headed by the honorable Justice Omotosho. The judgment recognizes Amaewhule as the speaker, and it has not been set aside by a higher court. The Judge directed the Governor to represent the state budget to the Amaewhule led house of Assembly. This is the status quo until a higher court set aside this ruling.
