The fact is that Nigerian officials sold its crude oil many years in advance as collateral on borrowed money, which has already been spent by Nigerian officials. That's why Dangote has to buy crude from the US and Brazil to be refined. That's why the Port Harcourt refinery opening has been prosponed many times. That's why there is fuel scarcity in Nigeria. The question Nigerians should be asking is why Nigeria, with one of the world largest reserve of crude oil has no crude for its only working refinery. And what happened to the money collected on the collateral sold crud oil.? This really is the crop of the problem.

For once in my personal opinion, Rufai speaks with a fair critism, and not some disgusting personalization of opinion. I hope you grow on that

This matter demands thorough investigation and transparency. The refinery in Malta must be scrutinized to uncover the truth. It's unacceptable that a select few have amassed generational wealth in the oil and gas industry at the expense of the Nigerian people. Nigerians deserve to know the truth about how their resources are being exploited. The discovery of one illegal refinery suggests that there may be more, and a comprehensive probe is necessary to expose and address these illicit activities.
