Martins Amaewhule is the current speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly as it stands, because of a judgment of the Abuja Federal High Court (FHC/ABJ/CS/1613/2023) headed by the honorable Justice Omotosho. The judgment recognizes Amaewhule as the speaker, and it has not been set aside by a higher court. The Judge directed the Governor to represent the state budget to the Amaewhule led house of Assembly. This is the status quo until a higher court set aside this ruling.

What kind of judgment leaves everyone confused? I really don't understand, to be honest. After a court judgment, everyone went about with different interpretations. Nigeria, when can we ever get it right? Point of correction: Wike is the one rather causing problems for the people of Rivers.

Festus Ogwuche thank you, don't mind that lawyer who has never practice what he is preaching. So many people graduated as lawyers but are not that well-grounded in that profession. Festus Ogwuche can never be placed on the same platform in any way. If Chidi Lloyd is that good, why is he not practicing the law to win cases for clients. He is not that good that is why him and his so-called master want to continue using thuggery to remain in power in Rivers State. Anything outside politics, River's people and Nigerians will see how Chidi Lloyd and his master will look like.

This is d same Chidi Iloyd and his cohorts celebrated a court ruling that d 27 legislators did not defect bcoz they are not holding APC cards but d court at same time declared has no jurisdiction.

Fubara and his team have not filed any case against these defected lawmakers, accept this one appeal court said high court lacks jurisdiction to make decisions on the case.

One of the tragic misfortunes that beset Nigeria is the caliber of people that run it. How does a country run mainly by political illiterates make progress? This man and 27 of his colleagues abandoned the party on whose platform they were elected and think that they still retain their places in the State House of Assembly contrary to the constitutional provisions.
What evidence do you have to convince a court that these folks abandoned their PDP? To me, irrespective of any other things, a register of members will be a conclusive prove 😢
