About 2 years ago it took me about 6 months to buy my current rig with 8700k and a 1070ti and 16gb ddr4 3200... but almost everything was on sale! (Yeah, im in my early 40's)
Admittedly I bought a Ryzen 3900X and a 2080Ti rig 6 months ago but it's taken me around 5 years to save up for this puppy (in early 30s). Been saving ever since my last PC build of an i5 2500K/GTX 570 with a single upgrade to a 1060.
@@vrajgajjar1675 PS is a lot more forgiving than Civil 3D or Blender, I can say that much. C3D wants a lot of core speed. As long as it suits your needs, that's all that matters. I got a 1080p monitor. All I need is a 1060 6gb and a ryzen 5 2600. I just dont need more than that. I would spend money on something that would never get used If i got more performance
About the same with me too. I think he went a bit overboard. An i5 paired with a 2060 super would have been plenty. A base 2060 performs almost as well as a gtx 1080. And a 2060xc is basically equivalent to one. So I dont see why this little kid needs a 2070 super. But regardless it's a nice build. Not envious my.pc is nice as hell. I5 9600k oc'd 4.6ghz Gtx1080 oc'd 1.91ghz Gskill aegis 32gb 2666. Does not have a xmp profile. ( want to change out to a define 7 though). Corsair CX 650m psu This thing plays like a fucking dream. Which is why I am definitely sure he way beyond what this kid wants/needs. Switch that i7 to an i5 and switch the 2070 super to a 2060 super and you would have a fantastic experience at a bit cheaper price point. The cpu is a $170 difference. And the gpu is about $100-$150. I mean right there that's a $270-$320 savings and you will get a fantastic gaming rig still. Never mind saving a bit on the AIO and going with a bit better case and a hyper 212 to save another $100. And get the same or better cooling. My i5 9600k clocked to 4.6ghz holds that 4.6 ghz in games and has an average temp of 60ish degrees. I dunno I see a $400-$500 waste here. Could have gotten nearly the exact same performance for this kid with stability and not have to spend that much more money.
Honestly as someone who had to pay for his first computer themselves because my parents did not support gaming I really love these kind of videos. I know how painfull it is to not be able to play the games you really want to play and seing that someone invested in the hobby gets a killer mashine to get started really makes me happy.
I know that Jay will never see this, but I hope that you, and everyone else who has good computers, with thousands of dollars poured into it, know how fortunate you are. I love computers and am an enthusiast but have no where near the amount of money to afford any parts or anything. I play on a laptop with a GTX 1050 and a Ryzen 7, that took me and my parents more than a year to save up for it. So, just want to say, don't take everything for granted, I am grateful to have my laptop despite it being so, so low spec. Have a good day!
Ryzen 7 is not low spec. With this specs i would buy a tower, you get much more for the same money / you can go with cheaper parts and still have the same performance because cooling is so much better. A tower also has a longer lifespan.
And I don't have a guy, uncle or something like that to help me, even with whatever it takes to build mine and when I finally do finally build one on my own, I did it with cheap, low-performing parts ... anyway, how lucky are some !!!
Yrah you are speaking facts my man. Spent the last two years mowing the lawn and cleaning the cars etc just for an £800 pc. This kid didn’t even ask for one lmao.
I’ve watched soo many pc builds I built my friend his own pc for the first time ever and I did it like a pro but I can’t afford anything to build for myself
If you can build pc you should build other people’s pc and 10% of what there cost you should charge so if it’s a 800$ computer then you should charge 80$

Haha same, and now im working and have my own 4k setup :) the good old days. P.s can't wait to buy the RTX 3080, yes i am the 1% who is stupid enough to spend over 1k for a single graphics card xD.
I'm looking into building my first PC to upgrade from a 2010 MacBook, and at first I was thinking about getting a current gen gaming laptop but now I'm really considering an ITX build with the H1 case, cuz this build is just awesome.
"AMD Weirdness" is definitely a thing I've been having to deal with. I have a capture card I've been using for years no problem on my b350 board, worked perfectly with both my 1700x and my 2700x, but then after I stepped up to a 3700x, it randomly decided "hey, imma hang your computer forever whenever you use me, and maybe sometimes cause a DPC watchdog BSOD" but... only on windows 10, still works perfectly on windows 7. I've tried about a dozen different versions of the driver... I have no idea what's going on.
B350's aren't designed for the 3rd gen ryzens, I recommend moving to a B450 for 3000 series, you can get them for about £75 like a B450 Pro Vdh Max from msi ( which I'm personally pairing with an RTX 2070s and a 3700x for a new setup)
True and you shouldn't forget, that the B350 chipset was for the 1xxx series! Even the B450 was backwards, as it was for the 2xxx series, but because AMD fucked up with the B550 series, everybody got a B450 for the 3xxx Ryzens.

I missed watching these Jay videos
Funnily enough I actually watched every single one of the videos that he referenced except his review of the case itself. I just find it funny that he keeps talking about "You should go watch those videos to answer your questions, but I know you won't and I know you'll still ask questions." Nope no questions just happy to see computer builds because it's kinda like Legos you can fit together all sorts of different components to the point where what you make will be completely unique. Also just love learning about technology. Love your stuff keep up the good videos and quality content!
when you realize that the storage is more expensive than the device you watch the video on *poor gang*
you should do a video about how to look for drivers and get drivers installed on a clean windows install. It would be helpful especially when doing clean installs on laptops because they sometimes have obscure parts that need specific drivers.

Awesome stuff. Hope the girl was happy with it. Amazing!

I love computers and am an enthusiast but have no where near the amount of money to afford any parts or anything.

I just upgraded to a b450 from a b350 after buying a 3800x.. highly suggest you do the same. 350 is holding it back
Just go for b550.. the vrm on most b450 is crap
BIOS update?
True and you shouldn't forget, that the B350 chipset was for the 1xxx series! Even the B450 was backwards, as it was for the 2xxx series, but because AMD fucked up with the B550 series, everybody got a B450 for the 3xxx Ryzens.
