- Hi folks, in this weeks video I show how I sewed up my basic Caped Dress. The base of this one, just like my last, is super classic in style and with the cape feels so cosy and comfy to wear. I am definitely going to revisit this pattern and see what else I can come with🤓 I hope that those of you interested in sewing something similar enjoy and find the video useful. Susanne💕

Lining - standard acetate
Stitch length used throughout - 3mm paired with a size 70 sharps needle. The use of both in combination eliminates the need for a zig zag stitch - this was a fabulous tip left by a kind and generous subscriber. Longer stitch length 3-4mm

Your dress is spectacular - the fit and craftsmanship are tremendous, and the 'fussy cutting' of the print on the cape and the dress makes it that much more remarkable. Beautiful.

Another great make. I have employed your technique for adding a zipper and it is so worth that machine and hand-tacking prior to using the zipper foot to finish. I know I have said it before, but I have learned so much from your videos. Thankyou. This dress is stunning!

Can you made a reversible cape, like Vogue 8357?
I like the zipper facing idea...I didn't catch what type of zipper it was...no problem with zipper facing/barrier catching on zipper teeth?

Do you recommend use of ball point machine needles and pins with knits or are sharps acceptable?
