  • Hi folks, in this weeks video I show how I sewed up my Autumn Midi Dress. I absolutely love how this has turned out and know I will get a lot of wear out of it over the coming months 🍁🍂🍁. I hope that those of you interested in sewing something similar enjoy and find the video useful. Susanne💕

    You’re an excellent example of what home sewing should be, more durable, high attention to details and amazing craftsmanship compared to the fast fashion. I love all of your makes ❤❤❤❤

    This once again is just beautiful and the fabric is just gorgeous. You are truly gifted. I just love the way you put in the invisible zip I have never seen it done like this before - and so easy. I particularly like the extra piece you put in down the side of the zip just makes the whole dress just finished off to perfection. I will be giving this a go on my next make. Thank you so much for sharing :)

    Beautiful dress design and presentation. Of course the "good little press". In my younger years my mother had made something for me and I insisted on trying it on too soon before she had an opportunity to press it. I was sad. But after the pressing and finishing, it was all perfect. I learned from you longer stitch length, though I don't know the reason yet. Also the narrow hems are a great idea.

    Love watching your videos and to see how they've come out in the end pix. But I'd really love to see the final items in video too instead of just stills. It'd be nice to see how the fabric moves. Would you ever consider adding that bit to the end or even the beginning as a teaser? I hope so. Usually you seem to be seated when you introduce so we can only see a bit of the top. Thanks for your high production values!

    What lovely fabric. At times it almost looked like plastic it’s so shiny, and the colour is so pretty. Nice dress.

    What is not to love about “this little number?” Your sewing, your designing and your beautiful walk through as you construct such gorgeous garments have given me inspiration to complete my on line garment construction/pattern making course. Thank you. The fabric you’ve used for this is stunning and a perfect autumn colour. I do like the geometric shapes and the cheeky front split.

    A really gorgeous dress Susanne. The fabric is lovely and the colour suits you very well. I love the way you take care inserting the zipper. So many of my sewing friends will not use zippers as they are "too difficult to insert correctly". Your technique is great. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us all ♡

    It would be awesome to see your drawings or sketches of your garments before at least one video. I would just love to see that. Thank you again for the wonderful demonstrations that you share with us of your process. I think you should consider investing in a stiletto. Every time your fingers got near that needle I thought "Oh no" a stiletto would definitely keep those fingers safe.

    You’ve done a fabulous job on this dress, it’s lovely! I always enjoy watching you and appreciate helpful hints like the one you showed us about gathering the fabric a bit by holding your finger behind the presser foot. Long sentence, sorry!😁 I do this with long curvy hems on the overlocker but never thought of it on my Janome, goes to show we never stop learning. Love the pattern making also...🥰

    Beautiful!
    Since I am a beginner or novice at sewing, I would like to watch a video on how you drafted your base or basic top and bottom pattern. If you have a video like that, could you please send me the link?
    I bought a fabric similar in texture /type /kind of yours, bit I don't have an overlocker machine, what stitch or method do you recommend to finish the seams allowance (I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology)?
    Thanks you!

    One more beautiful dress from you - so great to follow. Want to ask if you completely stopped sharing video of your design process? I miss this part. Not that you should share all of it evert time, but maybe one or two details? For this dress I am thinking og how you changed the pattern to achieve this beautiful neckline. Thanks!

    • @letyp.9950
      @letyp.9950 3 года назад

      She closed the darts (waist and side darts) and moved them to the neckline. That's how she made space for the gathering. That's why the bodice has no "darts" aparently. It does have them it's just that they are at the neckline.(if that makes any sence)
