Quick note for all of those who may have a cold sore and would like some tips to avoid them: Firstly, and this is a hard stop rule, NEVER TOUCH WITH YOUR TONGUE. Cold sores are things that you generally want to dry out, as it spreads through saliva and the fluid that is inside the bubbles that appear. Next, something like zinc oxide can create a solid barrier that stops the growth of a cold sore (if you apply around the affected areas). Though seemingly contradictory to the "dry out" idea from earlier, water is your best friend so drink lots of it. This will help your body dispell the sore faster. While the tongue is the worst thing to touch a cold sore with, fingers are also bad and hands should be washed immediately after touching to avoid spread to any places you touched w your hands. A final note: the mask atrioc decided to wear is of significant aide to the cold in terms of spreading as the mask touches the cold sore repeatedly and not necessarily in the same place.
