I actually had this idea YEARS ago (89-90),and actually called "The Power Line" and suggested to Nintendo a Mario Bros game,but with GIRLS.I even suggested maybe calling it "Super Maria Sisters"...lol :P
I literally just played Lost Levels for the first time today. Wondering what I could do to make the other 7 playthroughs more interesting...

I like the girl sprites, they look well done. Other than that, the hack is just okay… which can be more boring than one that is flat out bad. But Kosmic always manages to keep it interesting with his depth of Mario knowledge!
I take it you're not a fan of official Nintendo level designs, eh? I'd rather not deal with bad level design commonly seen in hacks.
@@dogg-paws I see what you’re saying and again, I wasn’t calling it a bad game. But it’s certainly not very original, being heavily inspired by existing levels. It’s probably also better to play something like that than watch someone else play it.

@@dogg-paws you know, just because someone is not paid to design games does not mean it is jot automatically bad. Larger pool of possibility which means some bad, sure.
@@keiharris332 What are you talking about? I only said that playing bad levels are outright worse than playing "boring" levels. At least the hack in the video can pass off as a competent Nintendo game.

I loved playing through this rom hack, but I honestly haven't played lost levels that much, and it's been a long time since I did a full smb1 play through, so I missed the similarities. I feel like it's a bit of a letdown that there wasn't more changes made to the level design.
They had such a great opportunity to call her MARI.
Romhack Wednesday is definetly my favourite series of the channel, other than the classic SMB1 Speedruns, hehe.

After pulling off a sweet power-up jump at 14:29, I feel like the Hammer Bros appreciated Kosmic's pity, _"Aaaa!"_ in fear and intimidation of their overwhelming show of force.

Why don't you just hire another one? They seem to cost only 100 coins each, and you can get them to work for free repeatedly with Bowser's help.
This is a cool hack. I'm excited to try this out.
The amount of shell kicks and 1up trick opportunities are really nice features. Showing the small fire sprites was funny as usual. Moving mushroom platforms are very cool. Weird that the bridge doesn't collapse sometimes and there is no ending dialogue, perhaps ✌ speaks equally loud as words. I don't mind when certain levels are slightly altered from the originals, this hack is still good. I stopped watching smb hack vids that only have sprite swaps, but Super Amish Bros is really fun to view. Thanks for the thoroughly entertaining game play 👍

this game is a copy of The Great Giana Sisters. it was a mario bros knockoff game that had sisters playing. it was made by Rainbow Arts. they did a remake of this game on the nintendo DS and 3DS

Hey I know it's not relevant to this video, but you mentioned a few times that speed runs can be done on any Mario cartridge. Does that include the trigame SMB1/DuckHunt/World Class Track Meet cartridge? I know it came out a good while after the first ones so I wasn't sure if it would qualify. I don't have the original 2 carts only the trigame one and I don't really wanna emulate for practice.

The hacks feel more authentic when they're more similar to SMB1 and SMB2J. Not that it's bad for a hack to be totally different, but I'd say both types of hacks are pretty cool. This one had some excellent level design, and the ladies have been overdue for some protagonist action in the hacks. 👍👍

The names Mary and Maria are from the same source, which is the Hebrew name Miryam, or Miriam.
