Thank you so much for playing my hack! I mentioned that I made this for my computer science class, and that’s true, lol. Some things I wanted to do to improve the hack, but I couldn’t do due to the due date:
-Fix minor graphical glitches (clouds being cut off, weird sprites, etc)
-Add music (This was before StudsX’s music base)
-Have better level design in the later worlds (I remember I made the entirety of worlds 4 and 5 in a day)
-Add more levels (standard 4 per world, to world 8)
-Add warp zones
-I did account for world 7, I was even gonna spell out the credits in blocks, but I ran out of memory)

Oh man, 6:42, 10:20, & 20:00 are some of my favourite reactions to things in a Romhack Wednesday. This was an absolute delight!
Man, the design of this stages are absolutely insane.
So, that was absolutely amazing. No joke, almost perfection for a "fun" hack that Kosmic is gonna love. I think next level is Puzzles/up the difficulty with those mechanics, like with clipping, power-up jumps, swim physics jumps, etc.
That is not a critique, just a dream, again this was probably the best I've ever seen perfectly curated for Kosmic. 10/10, blown away. The creator is God teir with his thoughtfulness around SMB's fun glitchyness integrated into legit levels that make it such a fun experience. Bravo 👏

I think this one has SMB3 Mario jumping physics, in that game he jumps a bit higher than he does in SMB1.
No, you can just change the gravity when you make a romhack, smb3 physics are much different.

And the hack itself full of cool glitches and speedrun strats that you can do - that is truly entertaining to see :)
World 3 was cool as well - only 100 seconds left on clock and you need to rush through the stages.
And World 4 is mostly focused on puzzles.

Mario jumps 2 extra blocks high as he jumped 6 blocks up and Mario normally jumps 4 blocks, 2:31
It's more like Mario gets about 1 tile more out of his running jumps, which only go 5 tiles high normally.

Him getting extra blocks high makes him take longer to reach the ground letting him jump farther
So we all know about small fire, but what happens if you grab a flag and take damage?
I wasn't aware you could make the demo run that long!
The demo can go as long as you want, but you have to deal with memory usage, actually setting it up (it’s super tedious) and how you can only be in the first stage

To be fair, Kosmic didn't soft lock of the water stage... Mario can die in the whirlpool, so not a technical softlock.
