Nice, I like the power-up jumps, the required wall jumps makes it maybe too hard? Glad you are making two versions.
3. Easy, glitchless, and hard.
With savestates, most of the wall jumps aren't too bad. Just gotta spam attempts at it. Sometimes, you can get a savestate where Mario clips into the wall every time, and you just need to time the A press.
This hack needs to be on one of those "1000 games" cartridges

@@tzargthat's a regular fireflower. Fireflowers have a top piece and a bottom piece. Sometimes one of them doesn't show up, usually around hammer brothers because all the hammers on screen are extra sprites and I guess there's not room for both halves sometimes

The path in 8-4 is easy to remember: just take the first pipe after a lava pit... well, crap.
While I'm not a very experienced player, I gave the hard version a go, and I was able to beat it warpless. It took a lot of time and savestates, but I did it.

I was honestly expecting lava instead of floor post-Bowser in 8-4.
Seeing all the enemies fall into the lava/blue lava makes me wonder if it's possible to rig the game so it gives you points when that happens.

Kosmic. Always enjoy your content. Since you can do romhacks, I think an amazing one would be a "Speedrun hack", where there are instant death spikes or whatever everywhere, except the optimal Speedrun route. As in, the only way to beat the level would be to do it optimal Speedrun path. Anything outside that would kill you. Obviously there is lots of room to work with that, maybe offering other paths for safety strats, but I think the idea would be fun. Play it like the pros or die to spikes.
Could that just be more simply done with a reduced timer? I don't know too much about the intricacies but Occam's Razor came to mind, maybe some roadblocks would be needed in certain cases.
@@dominicmoisant8393 well, the way I'm imagining it is that if you don't jump where the Speedrun does, you die. Reducing the timer still allows you to go wherever you want. With spikes everywhere besides the Speedrun path, the only way to go is to follow that path.

I'm not that good at the game but this is difficult but doable. I've gotten up to 4-1 without savestates (after several hours), wish me luck on the lakitu bounce!

It just didn't load in at normal speed sometimes that happens.
Even the lava in SMB isn't lava! Unless you consider the lava you see in the gap to be distant lava that obeys totally different perspective rules than the rest of the world. 😝

Why is "thr floor is lava" such a universal kids game? Everyone knows it but how does it spread? It is an example of a pre intermet meme.
Probably the built-in mammalian fear of danger zones. Like... With apes, many of them grew up up in trees and were somewhat scared of the ground because of ground based mammals that ate them. In a similar way, many small mammals fear the skies because of birds.
Possibly that fear turns into a game. Where you have to avoid the ground by stay on elevated stuff.
Goats enjoy this as well.

I have a rom hack idea. Super mario black out. 2 versions one everything is blacked out except mario the other everything is normal but you cant see mario
im surprised you don't die when you touch the top of the lava tile at the top of the screen. SMB3 is the same way the top part of the lava tile will kill mario but all the blank lava underneath doesn't hurt mario.
Lava doesn't have a hitbox, Mario only dies once he falls out of the level
