    Hi dude,
    Whoop of the year ??? seriously ??? I'm more thinking worst happymodel release ever !!! And I'm not the only one thinking that.
    Just sayin but as the one asking for these motor to Happymodel 2 years ago they are just bad on a setup this heavy.
    HM is working on a Diamond ELRS FC that gonna save 2g on this build.
    You can also check my channel, I recently build a 16g whoop just by replacing the FC and an other 14g in January with a few more tweaks.

      Very confused what there is not to like about this one. Its better in every way, except for raw power, but i guess many prefer to whoop outside. For indoors, i would be faster with this on a track than the original. But for freestyle, i can see how this would be disappointing. If i were to fly from driveway however, id probably just fly a toothpick, so for me, this is an indoor only.
      Whoop season, seems to coincide with indoor flight. IS that the main gripe? Just the motors? Again, i also primarily race for FPV, so im used to only flying 2-2.5 mins, so its right in line with that.
      How long do most whoopers expect to fly?

      @@JonE5FPV worst flight caracteristic, worst flight time, but better (useless) range for a whoop...
      And it just fly way better with 2 or 3g less, like you say these motor are just better for handling indoor so why add more weight for buzzing the house ?
      And I totally disagree on that common statement about spi RX having bad range.
      I've got many proof on my channel that they are totaly usable.
      And framerate can be even faster than elrs on both flysky (1.5ms) and Frsky on redpine as low as 1ms on deviation TX radio...
      Don't get me wrong elrs is great but they're other viable low latency links available for years 😉
      Any RX that can't pass thru a few walls and stand with 200mw is just faulty and should be replaced !
      The only good things on that whoop is that they finaly use a shielded vtx antenna, to me it not only help with video range but radio link also by limiting interferency between both.
      No matter don't change dude I always appreciate your honnest and true talking review and video 👊
      Just try these motor with moblite FC or wait for the light version HM should (have) release soon (and light is...)😉
      I just finish a waaay lighter build with this setup, stay tuned 😅

      @@DonJohnsonFPV yeah I don’t get the continual dis on SPI. I have never had failsafes flying around my house. Swear it’s their radio, MPM or the environment. The only time I’ve had issues is with an untuned MPM.

    Awsome review!! Thanks. Was put off this whoop by bad reviews about the motors but you changed my mind! Thanks. 🔥

    • @JonE5FPV
      @JonE5FPV  3 года назад +2

      No problem 👍 I feel like the confusion is that this is a little less raw power, but for indoor flight, i prefer this lighter more precise formula, as i can actually use the speed and end up going faster. If you whoop outdoors, the OG maybe the preffered still.

  • @offgridgaminguk

    Had mine a month or so now, fantastic little whoop, did change the motors though for the original 0802 19k with tri-blade props, just feels nicer in general and battery lasts a little longer.

  • @JohnCuppi

    It's a shame that they put this out with motors that just weren't the best. I mean, still very capable, but I'm not terribly inclined to pick it up unfortunately. Hoping for an exact copy of the Mobula6 with the original motors and ELRS at some point down the line. They aren't as bad as I thought after seeing this review, but certainly it doesn't help ELRS adoption that they aren't "the best."

    • @JonE5FPV
      @JonE5FPV  3 года назад +1

      I actually prefer the slower motors, if i had a track, im pretty sure i could fly this version faster lap times because of the more control. However, people that like to whoop outdoors, i could see how they woudl def want the OG setup as its a lot more power for freestyle moves.

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi 3 года назад +1

      @@JonE5FPV That's what is so frustrating for me with this release, personally. I enjoy flying acrobatics outside... and this thing won't cut it for that. It took away what wowed me about the Mobula6 when I first flew it. Better control from 'slower' motors... a fair point. But, you can always tame fast motors with a variety of methods in Betaflight to reign in throttle response to get the best of both worlds when you need it. I'm running a small indoor track right now with the 25,000kv, and some quick software modifications help with that.

    Nice review and video. I notice the amp draw is very high and the run times must be low. I wished they offer the 0802 motors with this thing.

      I think I'll choose a elrs module and get a few receivers, I'll put one in my tinyhawk 2 freestyle as a test and then I'll put one in my upcoming kiss digital cinematic 5 inch build if I like it.
