@Player 1 I agree. I didn't want to have to watch recaps. BUT.... I started KH when KH1 was first released 20 years ago. At this point, I have forgotten most of what has happened. Im not young enough to have a lot of free time anymore. I am sure that when I retire, I will be going back to KH, and playing every title to 100% completion. But for right now, I am very happy that people are taking the time to do these recaps and giving me the ability to go back remember what happened..... especially with new stuff coming.... O_O

I’m very glad this video came to be after Sora’s Smash inclusion, I have a soft spot for KH3, Switching Keyblades on the fly, Shotlocks, Keyblade Transformations, Summoning Amusement Park Rides, Fun side quests like searching for Lucky Emblems and Ingredients, Playing as different characters in the ReMind DLC and the fun Data Battles, I love KH3 for what it is.

Good times, man. It reminds me a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog haha. The first batch of Sonic games were blatantly just about environmentalism and the dangers of rapid industrialism. Also, this feels a lot like Shenmue III. They have much deeper pockets, It didn't need any crowdsourcing, but it seems like they could have taken an opportunity to clean up all plot threads and give a proper resolution and decided to insert potential sequel storylines instead, along with further incoming confusion. But just like Shenmue, it was a game that was being looked forward to for years and years and years and instead of just giving people the conclusion that they would have preferred, they went this route.
I've come to understand the story of KH but now Nomura has created more questions than the ones he answered in KH3 lol. Who is the Master of Masters? What's Luxu's role in all this? Lastly, and most importantly, WHAT IS IN THAT GODDAMN BLACK BOX!? I want answers Nomura! XD

Final Fantasy 15 really was meant to be how Kingdom Hearts would be like or from how Nomura wanted it to be. It feels as though a part of what can be done and what appears in Kingdom Hearts does end up in FF15.
Enjoyed this game a whole lot, as I do with the rest of the series. Best part was anything to do with Roxas, Lea/Axel and Xion. Complaint though is that I think there could've been more to allude to Xion return, rather than the character just being dropped in the final segment.

After the first game, the Disney and Final Fantasy aspects have lost their luster, leaving whatever original content the series produces to be what garners my attention. The Disney aspects takes up a large portion of the game and if it were cut out, I think that there more time and depth can be used to flesh out on the original plot and characters. Sadly that will most likely not happen since maintaining this connection to Disney acts as a marketing scheme.

Is this game worth playing? I really enjoy the story of KH but I heard that KH3 has pretty bad story telling. I know it has great combat but I honestly don't care about combat. I have experienced all of KH so far through RUclips cutscene movies as I just got into KH after Sora's reveal in Smash.

I only got into kingdom hearts with birth by sleep and haven’t played the rest and almost beat 3 but I don’t think anything has made me feel this much emotion before

36:03 - I like how, when on screen, Mickey routinely gets his butt handed to him. Yet, when OFF screen, Mickey is super powerful and does some crazy stuff. EDIT: 38:00 - And THIS was probably the best scene in the entire game to me, complete with Roxas' music, which has got to be one of the most recognizable themes in the game. Just hearing the first 4 notes, you know what it is. There was one Medal in Union Cross that plays a super slow, super sad variant of the theme and starts with just those four notes almost feeling alone in the darkness. I saw a brief overview of Melody of Memories, so this all makes more sense now. Sora and Kairi doing the "fix the past" routine (e.g. pushing Chirithy out for Ventus to see her) was kind of cool. I still don't get WHY Sora disappeared when he did and not before or after, though. It's also strange to me how the bad guys seem to understand fully what he's doing, how he's doing it, and the cost it will require. Though it's odd to me that he still has his Keyblade when fighting Yozora, implying that he hasn't truly lost all of his power, even if he has no real direct way to get home...
xion was the 3rd one, and probably having the keyblade didnt meant losing all his power, it may be like on the begin of the game where he lost the awaking and other powers

The main reason is that we see Sora release Ven's heart using the Power of Waking (when Aqua is fighting Vanitus), and we see Sora release Roxas' heart/Roxas' heart release from him. But we never see Xion's heart release from Sora, nor do we see him release it. He simply says her name and appeals to her, and she has a semi-breakdown as her mind returns to her. That's why I'm not sure if it was Xion or not. The Xion we encounter was already in a Replica body and her own person, while Ven was an empty body until his heart was returned, and Roxas was a heart waiting for a body for him to inhabit. Xion was already in a body, and it was not an empty shell, meaning she already had a heart or a...something...in it. And in either case, again, we didn't see her heart leave Sora to enter into her. Maybe it was supposed to be hers, but I'm not sure...
@@dragonskynocturne7347 Maybe. But Xion wasn't Sora's Nobody. She was Kairi's Nobody. Kairi, being a Princess of Heart, is supposed to have no darkness in hear heart at all. But while hear heart was in Sora, it apparently just took a little of his darkness when he freed her heart in KH1. As Sora's heart was also released, Sora's heart became his Hartless that you play as to get back to the ground floor, but also a Nobody, Roxas. The darkness with Kairi's heart got flung off, creating what would later become Xion. Kairi had no Heartless, because Heartless are (ironic given the name) hearts with darkness surrounding them and giving them the Heartless form (it's why a heart always comes out when you defeat them - that's the heart that was at their core returning to Kingdom Hearts). And she didn't EXACTLY have a Nobody, because her body was right there and Princesses of Heart apparently don't do that... ...normally. But because her heart had been in Sora, a piece of what WOULD have been Roxas joined with the darkness that Kairi's heart cast off, and this combined to form Xion. So Xion is technically Kairi's Nobody (so is Namine...again, sorta) as much as Sora's. And, in either case, as far as I could tell, her heart was never inside of Sora again. Roxas's was from the end of KH2, and Ven's was from the end of Birth By Sleep. But I'm not sure of any time that Xion's heart would have gone into Sora's heart to rest...

She was created as a backup to sora/roxas and also to help roxas harvest heartless hearts for kingdom hearts, this is all shown in 358/2 days seems like you didn’t play it :)

I like the ending of kingdom hearts and that they brought back the square enix characters from final fantasy. Maybe there can be a blend/ cross of the kingdom heart series and pieces of the final fantasy as well as the new character sora met in the final world. I think this can be a great saga I just need the developers to get it right

I only got into kingdom hearts with birth by sleep and haven’t played the rest and almost beat 3 but I don’t think anything has made me feel this much emotion before
This video made the story so much better for me. Now I feel bad because Sora was used as a resolution to everyone else's story before him and he did it willingly.

36:03 - I like how, when on screen, Mickey routinely gets his butt handed to him. Yet, when OFF screen, Mickey is super powerful and does some crazy stuff.

38:00 - And THIS was probably the best scene in the entire game to me, complete with Roxas' music, which has got to be one of the most recognizable themes in the game. Just hearing the first 4 notes, you know what it is. There was one Medal in Union Cross that plays a super slow, super sad variant of the theme and starts with just those four notes almost feeling alone in the darkness. Though I'm trying to figure out...if Ventus and Roxas were TWO of the hearts in Sora, and Xion was NOT one...who is the third?
39:30 - I did love how Terra was the Guardian the whole time. That was a neat story beat/twist to me.
44:00 - I like how the GAMEPLAY part of the video ends here, yet there's still roughly 10 minutes left in the video. :D
53:12 - OOOOH, that must be the DLC stuff? I saw a brief overview of Melody of Memories, so this all makes more sense now. Sora and Kairi doing the "fix the past" routine (e.g. pushing Chirithy out for Ventus to see her) was kind of cool. I still don't get WHY Sora disappeared when he did and not before or after, though. It's also strange to me how the bad guys seem to understand fully what he's doing, how he's doing it, and the cost it will require. Though it's odd to me that he still has his Keyblade when fighting Yozora, implying that he hasn't truly lost all of his power, even if he has no real direct way to get home...
xion was the 3rd one, and probably having the keyblade didnt meant losing all his power, it may be like on the begin of the game where he lost the awaking and other powers

The main reason is that we see Sora release Ven's heart using the Power of Waking (when Aqua is fighting Vanitus), and we see Sora release Roxas' heart/Roxas' heart release from him.
But we never see Xion's heart release from Sora, nor do we see him release it. He simply says her name and appeals to her, and she has a semi-breakdown as her mind returns to her.
That's why I'm not sure if it was Xion or not. The Xion we encounter was already in a Replica body and her own person, while Ven was an empty body until his heart was returned, and Roxas was a heart waiting for a body for him to inhabit.
Xion was already in a body, and it was not an empty shell, meaning she already had a heart or a...something...in it. And in either case, again, we didn't see her heart leave Sora to enter into her.
Maybe it was supposed to be hers, but I'm not sure...

But Xion wasn't Sora's Nobody.
She was Kairi's Nobody.
Kairi, being a Princess of Heart, is supposed to have no darkness in hear heart at all. But while hear heart was in Sora, it apparently just took a little of his darkness when he freed her heart in KH1. As Sora's heart was also released, Sora's heart became his Hartless that you play as to get back to the ground floor, but also a Nobody, Roxas. The darkness with Kairi's heart got flung off, creating what would later become Xion. Kairi had no Heartless, because Heartless are (ironic given the name) hearts with darkness surrounding them and giving them the Heartless form (it's why a heart always comes out when you defeat them - that's the heart that was at their core returning to Kingdom Hearts). And she didn't EXACTLY have a Nobody, because her body was right there and Princesses of Heart apparently don't do that...
...normally.
But because her heart had been in Sora, a piece of what WOULD have been Roxas joined with the darkness that Kairi's heart cast off, and this combined to form Xion.
So Xion is technically Kairi's Nobody (so is Namine...again, sorta) as much as Sora's.
And, in either case, as far as I could tell, her heart was never inside of Sora again. Roxas's was from the end of KH2, and Ven's was from the end of Birth By Sleep. But I'm not sure of any time that Xion's heart would have gone into Sora's heart to rest...
@@SubduedRadical dunno where you got kairi’s nobody from, xion is sora’s imperfect replica who looks like kairi because of sora’s powerful memories of her.
She was created as a backup to sora/roxas and also to help roxas harvest heartless hearts for kingdom hearts, this is all shown in 358/2 days seems like you didn’t play it :)

Thanks for the recap. I just couldn't bring myself to play this game again. I've always loved the Kinddom Hearts' story and series mostly 😅 , but Kh3 gamplay and most of the story was a miss, so this video definitely made it more enjoyable.

I like the ending of kingdom hearts and that they brought back the square enix characters from final fantasy. Maybe there can be a blend/ cross of the kingdom heart series and pieces of the final fantasy as well as the new character sora met in the final world. I think this can be a great saga I just need the developers to get it right
