Kingdom Hearts: Union X is no longer available on digital storefronts as of Sept 2024, so I wanted to make sure this very important story to the entire series was not lost forever. I hope it helps everyone who was unable to play it!
Good, you covered the one Kingdom Hearts game that covers the Keyblade War era that Xehanort and his (many) iterations have been obsessed over. Most people did not want to get into this since it was a mobile game with 2D Chibi looking sprite characters. It's a shame too since the narrative for these isn't that half bad, especially the ones that cover the core characters that have appeared in the already established Kingdom Hearts titles. Characters such as Ventus and Vanitas, Marluxia (somebody), Larxene (somebody), and Xehanort. If this series ever decides to do a legit anime, it should cover these games since it would provide a proper medium that people might want to invest their time in (if Disney allows it).
I gave it a try despite the mobile/chibi aspects and I just couldn't get into it. Glad this video is here to make me remember I still don't know what's in that damn box!!
I regret not playing this game back when it was first released. Thought it was fake even though I am a KH fan since playing KH 358/2(since being a mobile game and all) and didn't mind the chibi art style at all, if anything it makes the game more appealing.
Thank you for creating this, there’s very few creators who have done this and considering that the offical KHUx app has now been taken down keeping the games story going is vital❤
That's so amazing, during from video app game before starts in Kingdom Hearts series. Thanks for recap and please, another different game and spin-offs
Yooo so great to see you covering this!! It's always great to see you uploading a video, Oni! And I've never been able to catch a premier before! Thank you!

I'm curious. Having gone through and breaking down the story of what I can only assume is all of the Kingdom Hearts games now, what your thoughts: Is Kingdom Hearts a series of confusing concepts and plot lines with fun gameplay and some iconic characters? Or is it a series of good games that over time has also developed a solid and cohesive plot and events? Maybe this could be better answered in a future KH watch-along.
Yes, until Missing Link comes out, this is all of the KH games so far. To me, since the jump, KH has sought to pose new questions in every installment, while answering a few at the same time, and deliberately writing in plot holes to fuel confusion and curiosity certainly tests a person's patience. That said, every game has brought more cohesion, at the cost of basically making every game unskippable to not get lost. The story of KHuX has actually shifted my opinion of KH3's story more positively, and has shown what actually is next to look forward too. For me, I still like to play the KH games, and I am still fan, so I will continue to help and hopefully guide others in catching up on the complex storytelling. Fun fact: KH is the first recap video I ever made and is the sole reason I started this RECAPitation project.
I think both are true. The story has gotten a bit bloated with explanations and retcons, always going back and forth with it´s timeline. But it wouldn´t be so confusing for newcomers if all games of story were in a same console. Most are avaiable through the collections now, but a lot of lore is left out without the mobile games. Not to mention that Dark Road had a very crap release with all content being chuked on one last update before the app ended service. Even so, the games are fun, the characters are likeable and the lore and storyline is well worth experiencing.
To date I've only really played 1 and 2 fully and a couple hours of Chain of Memories and Birth By Sleep. So these recaps give me a lot of insight. Although I still get a bit lost with the in-between installments. Part of that might be the presence of so many characters as well, a bit compounded by the alternate versions of the same people. Heartless, nobodies, aliases, etc.
I was walled by Ira when I played it, so didn't expierience it fully (to much Mobile grind), so thanks for the recap. Makes me wonder more what Nomura is constantly smoking.
All Unchained, Union, and Dark Road taught me was the OG keyblade wielders were so weak in comparison to Sora and crew who were self taught for the most part.
I love the first 2 DR games. You know, I was thinking about covering the Dead Rising games given the remaster ( I would cover the OG, though). I am almost caught up on Resident Evil game recaps so I will definitely consider.
@@OniBlackMage Awesome man! Hope you do! I have watched your zero escape videos over and over, and just thought I’d ask, especially considering the recent rerelease. Hopefully DR2 gets remastered soon as well, an underrated classic.
I would bet my entire allowance that Luxu is a cover agent to look over Master Xehanort by the orders from the Master of masters or at least someone higher up.
Hey OniBlackMage, I'm liking your videos of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, but do you think you could do Xenoblade Chronicles someday? I'd like to see those.

wow this is such a well put together and easy to follow video, it almost makes the story make sense! almost! great work.
I only really understood the first third of this video, but it was a great one nonetheless
I needed ChatGPT to understand the rest
I know all the story, still watching this cos you're so good at explaining plots and your voice is very pleasant to listen to
You're literally the best storyteller on RUclips

Such a convoluted story line, thank you for making it palatable!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was waiting for this. Thanks man!
Man, people may hate on the mobile games, but playing those games got my username into kh3, worth every second
Thank you so much covering this games ! It’s a great to know the story and really can’t play these games now
You are the best !
I'll be looking forward to your KH Missing Link recap in the future... whenever that comes out.

You need to do the full story of kingdom hearts.

Darkness cannot control someone who will milk the franchise..........they already embody it. 😂
I feel like this is one of those games that can't be played anymore.
The game has been delisted
Are you on KH again? Though I think you've done them almost all
Until Missing Link comes out next, this is now every KH game
Love your content
I love your videos dude. Could you please please consider doing the Dead Rising games?
