Thank you! 🙂
Knew bat girls patents live across my friends grand ma..
G
Hearing about his love of dogs and how he has made such a huge difference in their lives is so heart warming. He’s the real deal!
I WOULD NEVER SHRINK MY PP FOR SOME STUPID SHOW
His house/dog rescue facility are about 2 miles from my house in Norco, CA. I've seen him at least twice, just a plump little old man, but still has those pretty eyes! Never spoke to him, though.
He wasn't called the Boy Wonder for nuthin'.
🤣💀
You mean nuttin'?
Thank you so much for this - over the years some horrible stories have circulated about Burt Ward and it's lovely to discover what a very good, generous and kind man he really is.
How can someone be so perfect - Kind, Humble. Super Smart, Well Endowed, Super Athletic even from a very young age, Endurance and some kind of Healing Factor. Was he made in a lab or something ?
He could have been his own super hero or a rich suave villain that keeps the heroes on their toes
I met Burt and Tracy Ward at their dog rescue in 1997 when I was having behavior problems with my Great Dane puppy. It was a memorable experience. They were both so nice, gracious and down to earth. It only hit me on the drive home who he was. I kept saying to my kids, “I know his name from somewhere.” Granted I was 5 or 6 when I watched Batman. Lovely genuine people who honestly wanted to help dogs and their owners.
I found this great to watch cos i knew nothing about Burt Ward. He was damn near perfect. He's a good man. What touched me was he and West were such close friends up to Adam's death.
Thank you Dolly! 🙂
He slept around a lot like Adam West during the Batman years apparently
Well, no one is perfect
But Burt and Adam were like brothers and enjoyed each other’s company.
@@beyourself2444
Get’n that BAT Action, huh?
He certainly has done some good deeds and is probably an all around good fellow but he did his share of Hell raising.
Burt is a good looking guy, but the mask made him even better looking - it worked perfectly with his face and eye shape.
I had no idea what a kind big hearted man. So many accomplishments so young. Never was impressed with him before this video. Now that I know what he’s all about, I’m so impressed there are no words. And that was before you got to the dog rescue. Now he is my hero. 😂 got to love a guy who loves dogs so much. 👍
Always knew Burt Ward was a great person. A fan forever
It's weird that the Catholic church would complain about Robin's dinghy when nowadays you hear about those scandals that the church is involved in!
Exactly why are they looking in between his legs
@@XhrisSharp They're priests.
Typical gays
I met Burt Ward and Adam West.. at the B&I Shopping center in Tacoma Wa. They were dressed in their costumes, a lot of people attended.. it was a lot of fun!.. It was Aug. '66
His life is a very inspiring one and a lovely friendship he had, may Adam rest in peace and their friendship to live forever
His autobiography is excellent reading. We recently started using the Gentle Giants food for our dogs. I'm hoping our dogs benefit from the same longevity that the Ward's dogs have.
Adam West and Burt Ward were the best Batman and Robin that there ever was. It's too bad that back in those days people were so prudish about the costumes and the male form. Burt was so handsome
So glad to know him better! Two really nice men.
Mr. Ward was born to perform! How awesome for him to be genius at what he does! My grandson taught himself to read before even going to kindergarten. He had to go to the first grade class when it was reading time because kindergarten reading was way too easy for him.
I was around 6 years old when the Batman series began. It was my favorite show. But, I will say, I only watched to see Robin. I've always leaned towards hero characters that were still considered teenagers that could kick grown mens asses. Hehehehehe. Living in Glendale, CA at the time, my grandmother had somehow managed to get me an exact duplicate of Robins yellow cape. Wearing colored underwear and t-shirt, I became Robin when I was needed for emergency situations...eheheheheheh. Ahhhh, Good Times. :)
I always got a kick out of Robin's catchphrase! "Holy Mush!"
I was 9 years old, both actors were great, it was great, that you have to watch the second part, the next day. Robben represented every boy in America. Just like Jimmy Olson represented every boy who watch Superman. I live in Redford Michigan. Batgirl was not much of a fight on the set. What's funny I will be watching an old move, that I watch 55 years ago, and I can tell what COMES NEXT.
what a sweet memory. Thanks for sharing!
@@forgottenfilmchannel1194 It really is a sweet story that brings back funny memories of childhood antics for many I'm sure. ✌️
Burt is a good hearted man! I met him at the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MOTION PICTURE COUNCIL 3 years ago. He was there along with Anson Williams, Donny Most from HAPPY DAYS tv show. They were there to receive awards.
Hi Age of Vintage, absolutely loved all these wonderful photos & a chance to see Burt Ward receive some accolades for his performance as Robin The Boy Wonder!!! Love to you as always. 💖❤️Love Love from Australia 🇦🇺 🥰🎬📽 ZAP KAPOW CRUUNCHH 💥💥💥💥💜💙💚😎💋💋💋💋⚘️⚘️
He was such a handsome man. When i watch reruns i still get butterflies in my stomach🦋🦋
True, a very sexy guy.
I did not care for West, but Ward was something else. He's the reason I watched Batman, for his sex appeal.
@@geraldmontreuil1623 He was even hotter out of costume😜
I met Bert years ago. I work at a print shop. He was a customer of ours. He drove a black car a take off of the Batmoble. Nice gentleman.
Good-looking, athletic, intelligent and...well-endowed.
and a TV action star to boot. He had the whole package (pun intended).
I really knew nothing about Ward's private life - quite amazing, indeed. Thanks for another great video. 🌹
Thank you Aymara! 🙂
I could imagine the kind of embarrassment a young person would go through with costumes like they had..
Omg, how crazy. I never noticed the ‘problem’ when I watched the show as a kid. We were all about the fights and plans and beating the baddies, enjoying the WOW! BAM! CRASH! and other words that popped up. It made us laugh and shout the words. Adults are way too sex conscious. The church apparently was way too interested in others and not enough facing with what was going on ‘in their own house.’ Oh well.
Like how 'conservative' religious extremists are trying to dictate what women and all people should and shouldn't be doing with their own bodies now.
Still are...
@@NastyWoman1979 Yup. A few changes would make a world of difference: married priests & female priests for starts.
That’s what they have in other Religions….
You can really see it at 2:24
I still have his autographed Robin photo when I met him as a kid
This was rally interesting, his reading ability was astonishing! I knew about Gentle Giants when I was in LA , I never got down there Norco CA. I think I rescued a giant dog but not from them but it was fun to look at all their dogs on the website , He’s lived a grand life and even more so because of the dogs
Thank you MRitz! 🙂
Nothing to see in Norco. You haven't missed anything.
An amazing Individual, truly remarkable, Thank you for sharing this video
Great information! Brought back wonderful memories of when I was a child, I never missed an episode I watched it every day after school.❤❤
He was gifted in many areas😂
This is by far the most Classic Style Information I Not Know! Bravo! Love It.😮😮😮
When Batman came on in the 60's, I fell in love with Burt Ward he was awesome...
Watching Burt Ward on Batman as a kid made me realize that I liked men.
He is the better looking one 😆🤣😂
Just curious, but was it just a phase back then or do you still like men?
Duff Baker still like them
I was 10 years old when this show started and it was the absolute perfect escape for a young hyper boy! Even when it went into re-runs it was fun I knew I was gay by then but honestly never really thought about Robin being “large” I was in love with his looks and athletic ability! 😉
I often wondered.
That's the difference between kids and adults.
THEY are the ones who are obsessed with sex.
Kids just see a cool superhero they want to be. They just want to watch and be part of the story. Get caught up in it.
When you lose your ability to imagine, lose your ability to believe in the magic of the story, you become one of "those" adults.
Yes i was attracted to robin as well! those tights did it for me! lol I was 6 🤪
@@Jamestrent9 😆
I read in a book a long time ago that Burt was pretty well endowed and they made him tape it down somehow between his legs. But I never knew they made him take drugs to shrink it! I know I wouldn't have taken those pills no matter WHAT the role!
I also read the same thing about Ricky Nelson. Once the dude hit puberty he became hung as a Shetland pony and they made HIM tape it down for his parents TV show as well! If any of you ever saw still photos of him when he did Rio Bravo with John Wayne you'd know it true too!
BURT WARD was simply and compellingly his own unique version of "The All-American Boy"!
Best 60s show ever along w Ed Sullivan. Bert has had a fulfilled exciting good life 👏🏻 happy for him 👍🏻
Burt seemed to have faded into history where as Adam Ward was still getting work especially voice work (The Simpsons). Was happy to find our he has remained upbeat and developed more positive real life endeavors such as animal rescue. Never knew he had been that close a friend to Adam or, friends with Bruce Lee!
I didn't know about Bruce Lee either. Fun trivia!
Adam West did a lot in Family Guy, playing Mayor West!
How often was he in The Simpsons? I think you're confused with Family Guy.
Who knows, maybe he was in both?
@@robertdragoff6909 google knows!
"West showed up twice on The Simpsons: in “Mr. Plow” (season 4, episode 9) and in “Large Marge” (season 4, episode 14)."
His love of his friend and dogs is Noble, no wonder they were a dynamic duo, Bat Man and Robin forever, POW💥ZAP⚡️
❤❤❤❤❤❤ ty for enlightening so many on often misunderstood famous persons who have all the struggles we all do and then some.
I didn't know Burt Ward was so cool and accomplished. Your bio is absent the addictions, abuses, and infidelities typical of most actors' lives (so it seems).
The title question includes a false premise, as I believe it can be stated with confidence that young Mr. Ward never had any desire to shrink his genitalia.
Censors probably had problems with Ward's physique below his belt as probably did some very conservative viewers who were concentrating on things most of us never paid attention to...I watched the show back when it aired & never once saw a reason to crotch-watch anybody. Censors back in the 1950s & 1960s were very odd, even making several actors shave their chests before doing shirtless scenes or because their chest hair could be noticed through their shirt collars...William Shatner on Star Trek was told to shave his chest so he would appear more civilized & less barbaric & wild...Leonard Nimoy was told to keep his chest hair because they said it made him look more devilish & alien. ...Also, no man would volunteer to shrink his package unless he desperately needed money...there are types of jockstraps any man can wear that makes his private shape nicely contoured instead of being obvious.
For such an iconic show it actually only had three seasons from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968, twice weekly during the first two seasons, and weekly for the third. It was a child star kind of thing for Ward. Maybe if the show went on longer he might had to more projects. Can you imagine being that associated with that part ?
Sort of like Max Baer Jr. forever associated with Jethro, Tony Dow as Wally, and so on!
@@jaysverrisson1536 ...and those actors who played the Brady kids from the original, "THE BRADY BUNCH" tv series.
I think Burt would have made a good Luke Skywalker.
He was asked to be the Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate, but couldn't because of the series.
Ok Luke now let's continue your training grab your lightsaber..... No not THAT one!
I was born in 57 and loved Batman. I had a mad crush on Robin
A really nice piece, many thanks,
My dad had an old Batman comic book from either the 1940’s or 50’s ,
I was just a little kid at the time that I saw it,
So I didn’t pay much attention to it ,
However this is definitely a top piece,
Many thanks
I have talked to this guy on the phone he is very personable he answers the phone when you have a question about John told giants hes a heck of a guy
Wow! 🙂
Looks like the world got over its PP issues in the 70s when tight pants with room in all the wrong places became the norm. And you could actually make out the head in some of the sheerer polyester blends. Lol.
Often, you could even make out the religion. lol
Any of the many garden variety drag queens that call LA home could have taught him to hide his candy.
Wow, he sounds like a legitimately nice person.
Sounds like an AMAZING human being. I wish I were more like Burt. Thank you for this history and a look back at the icons of my youth.
Sounds like Burt never let celebrity status ruin the person he was in private life. He was smart and always did the right thing. Saving dogs and starting his sanctuary for them, makes him a wonder in his own right...!
3:04 had to pause and say: that’s an awesome photo! I know it’s some promotional picture but it’s so cool. TV and cinema just ain’t what it used to be!
Considering all the strange stuff that Hollywood seemingly endlessly creates and churns out for the public to see ; nothing surprises me hardly anymore ! 🤔. Personally I liked the series, and remember his role as Robin. Why do people not allow actors or actresses to be left alone ? No, we chase them and hound them ; let them have a private life !
He was one of my 1st childhood crushes. Haha him and Davey Jones.
Funny thing here is that in an episode of The Monkees Davy actually parodied Burt Ward's Robin in a fantasy sequence as Reuben the Tadpole!
@@melissacooper8724 that is funny!
@Kristi Wallace - re: "Haha" = What is so funny about that statement?? Childhood crushes were taken seriously by anyone who had a childhood crush!
I adore him as a child....more than batman.....as an animal lover...I also shared that with him.
All my 3 favorites Ward, West and Bruce Lee (also CatWoman 1) all wonderful high quality human beings Thank you for being here ! :)
WOW! He was the boy wonder! Love the TV show!
Wow what a great story on him you never really know all about a person life.
I find the 30k words a minute hard to swallow. That's basically a dictionary.
More than just tge words count to choke on with Robin. Go Boy.
He is like the tom Holland during his time. looks like him too
120 episodes. I never realised they did about 40 a year WOW. That's like 6 series, kinda conservatively.
He was so adorable!
Discussion of the PP problem starts at 06:59...
You can get a glimpse of it at 2:24
can you imagine they were all so uptight about his bulge?!! What a crazy world
A lovely bulge.
Wow why would they Xrate some guys crotch
Hell in today’s comic book TV shows, nobody would have a problem if his thing was 18 inches long. Makes me wonder what kind of people are working behind the cameras these days.
Hmmm.... Was hoping video would be racier. Burt didn't look to be anymore "well endowed" than Adam.
Little guys like him are usually well endow.
Jerry Lee, watch the TV show, h was
People are surprised he had an actual martial arts background, and he had even sparred with Bruce Lee.
Burt Ward was an extremely good looking young man.
The first gay tv-series, although subtle. Love it.
30,000 wpm and 90% comp?!?! And I felt pretty good about my measley 700-900 wpm and 81% comp. That's insanely cool and impressive AF.
I feel like other people on RUclips have covered this topic in a way less salacious way. Important thing to remember here is that a studio shouldn’t be able to force you to take hormones that could destroy your fertility because of censorship laws.
Umm, it was intentionally made as salacious as U-Tube will tolerate, to garner as many clicks as possible.
I HATE ULTRA-STUFFY CONSERVATIVES... JUST HATE THEM..... SOMETIMES SALACIOUS STORIES ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT TELL...THE WHOLE TRUTH...NOT THE CANDY COATED WHITE WASHED VERSIONS... learn that and CHANGE YOUR INFANTILE IDEAS
"Salacious" in what way? If it's factually correct, then it just is what it is.
@2:48: To read at 30,000 words per minute does not seem possible. That would be 500 words per second.
THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATIVE REVIEW ABOUT BURT WARD....OUR BELOVED ROBIN....HAD NO IDEA.....
Burt and Adam were women magnets!😉
And men magnets too
Burt/Robin was my gay awakening 🎉
Much appreciated wow are there really people like Burt ...or is the species in danger of dying out, such is the modern world.
Y’all did him dirty with that thumbnail 😂
😄😄😄😄
How?
Well I'll tell you this much I'm glad to say my GSD/Malinoise is doing well eating the food that Burt and Tracy manufactures , My Senior Big Boy is doing well at 12 years old , looking and feeling great 😊😊
The batmobile was not exactly a safe place, Bert fell out of the batmobile numerous times getting hurt day one he was rushed to the hospital it's odd that the announcer did not talk about that.
This was shot or filmed on the 40 acres backlit that was Mayberry, NC the Andy Griffith Show. Unfortunately the back lot was razed in early 70s. What a loss.
Adam and Burt scored hundreds if not thousands of female groupies during the three seasons of the Batman series., both at the studio property and location shoots during episode production.
He's a legend man.
Oh for heaven's sake ... those costumes showed hardly anything
You made a tiny mistake…
Bruce Lee played Kato on the Green Hornet, not on Batman…
However, there was a 2 part crossover when Hornet went to Gotham city,
Brit Reed and Bruce Wayne were friends but Batman was suspicious of Hornet because of his underworld connections…
And there was a fight between Robin and Kato, but it ended in a draw…
You didn’t mention Burt’s appearance in the Arrowverse.
It was a cameo and it was a blink and you’ll miss it moment.
It was a great video, thanks for posting it.
Enjoyed as usual, thank you very much.
Great video!!! So well done.
Thank you Tom! 🙂
Burt's Alma Mater, Beverly Hills High School, was used in Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" (1946), in the class reunion scene where Mary's ex-boyfriend (portrayed by Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer) enacts revenge on she and George (actor Jimmy Stewart) for coupling up during his date with her by turning the key which sent the entire dancing party into the swimming pool floor.
Now I know why he played Dick Grayson.
Ward shouldn't have been taking medications. He could have just asked a drag queen for tucking advice and a roll of tape.
Never take drugs to reduce the size of something that most guys would be proud to have.
The 60s had the best shows to watch. Just fun and memorable.
He didn't. The STUDIO wanted him to. He was not gay.
That's right he was buy, as in he would buy all the sex he had lol
Loved watching the bat channel when little.
So many autobiographies end with the former celebrity becoming an animal rights activist.
Who would have known have a lot more respect for him now.
Burt is a great man!
🤔 He's a what grate man 👨?. I think you mean Great 👍man..........
What a touching story. Thank you!❤
They are still the only Batman and Robin I like.
I had the opportunity to meet Batman at an indoor ice hockey game. I said to Batman you had everything in your utility belt. He replied, I sure did.
Imagine that, the Catholic League trying to ruin another life.
If they would just keep their nose in their own business it would be a much better world!
I always liked this series.
