When I was a kid, batman was the show to watch after school. I'm glad I lived in an era where people's private lives were respected. As young boys, the worse we were exposed to was the Playboy magazines that our friend's dads had around the house. Hi Age of Vintage, how are you going? This is a fabulous insight into the life of Adam West. He was so good looking, & had the perfect physique to play the iconic role as Batman. He had a wonderful speaking voice & did a lot of voice over roles. It was a true honour to be asked to play a part in the series, & many famous people had a recurring role as one of his arch enemies. Otto Preminger who went on to be a famous director. Burgess Meredith, Vincent Price, Julie Newmar, Eartha Kitt, Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin just to name a few. I think he was very self deprecating, & loved to camp thing's up a bit, & still keep a straight face & a stiff upper lip. I think most people somewhere along the line have watched the series or at least a few episodes. Really enjoyed this portrayal of Adam West, fantastic video from yourself as usual. Really appreciate you're really hard work. Love Love from Australia 🇦🇺📽🎬💛💙💚💖💜❤😍😍😊😊💋💋💋💋
I remember one of his last roles it was as himself on the Big Bang Theory. He was a special surprise guest for Sheldon at his birthday party. He clearly was old and not in great health but did a very good job I read the the cast loved having him as a guest.
Hey I guess that's why they tried to take Burt off the show because he was getting to much "Exposure "for 1960's wholesome prime Time audience TV at the time because of his costume.
I remember when "Batman" killed off "The Munsters" in the summer of 1966. I never missed an episode. There will never be another TV show like it again.

I read West’s autobiography a few years ago and was surprised at how unflinching it was - wild, weird stories that have that outrageous ring of truth to them. A lot of this video’s material comes from there. I only have to *”think”* about Adam West having fun in the 1960s, and voila, I can pretty much “feel the fun moments”. Demographics figure in. I totally grew up with Adam West as a role model, whether I liked it or not (TV repeats and repeats the mantra), and I am sure that he gathered tremendous energy from these dalliances, which presumably helped fuel his performance in front of the camera as Batman.
Considering that Viagra was still decades away, that's very impressive. But Wilt Chamberlain was doing the same thing back then and in the 60s you could get away with it without having to worry about being exposed as you would in today's environment. I'm just glad West's final role was appropriately, Batman. Perfect way for him to go out
I am sure in the catwoman episodes where the catwoman was making passes at batman in the actual scenes, they were going at it in the dressing rooms just minutes before and after the respective episodes. The same for Joan Collins who played the Siren, and all the other female villains in the series.
I think Adam West did the best of what he was given to work with after the typecasting. He wasn't bitter, on the contrary he was grateful, he knew he was talented and took advantage of it. In the Sammy Davis Jr made for TV vehicle Poor Devil, West played the tyranical boss of Jack Klugman, a 'villain' he undoubtedly had some fun playing. And even with the 1-derful way Michael Keaton played the caped crusader, Adam West remains my favorite Batman.
In Burt Wards memoirs, he talked about how Adam West had taught him everything he knew about getting laid. He said it gave a completely new meaning to him for the phrase "To the Batpole, Robin."
Oh gosh that was fun! I was in high school when Batman was on and I never missed it. I think Adam West would have been great as James Bond. thanks for the video.🦇
I had the biggest crush on him as a kid. He was handsome. There was only one Batman. He was good looking up until his senior years. He had such a soothing voice too.
So Burt Ward was an “innocent 20 year-old“?! I was genuinely surprised about this revelation about Adam West, because it´s _Burt Ward_ who was given the _sobriquet_ of “The Thresher“ while on the _Batman_ set...
Adam West was my first crush when I was seven years old when Batman first came on TV. He was the first crush of several of the other girls in my class at school. We’d take turns pretending to be married to him. Batman was the most popular show at my school until Barnabas Collins showed up on Dark Shadows.
As a man it doesn’t matter what career you have. When you have to work and be around women all day long at a workplace it can drive you mad. I’ve worked in offices where even the older women in their 50s were turning me on. A man’s sex drive is like a nuclear reactor. I can only imagine what West was up to.

I grew up with the show, but even as a kid I knew it should have been a drama series and not a comedy spoof!! Don't forget these were the day's of comics kid's knew Batman was a no nonsense Character and not full of bad puns and sad joke's. I know we didn't have the technology we do now but considering the acting talent of the cast's I still think Dark Shadows was a much more interesting show, the storyline's were great and it was suspenseful, it drew us to run home from school to not miss a minute.

The character of Batman didn't have any superpowers but his Bruce Wayne alter ego could finance every crime fighting gadget to help the Dynamic Duo defeat Gothem City's eccentric Master Criminals.
I recently started having a crush on Adam West 3 months ago after I started watching the Batman series. I think he is very handsome and has a beautiful, baritone voice. I don't agree with what he was doing in his personal life, but after all his mother had traumatized him in every way. Even after knowing all the details about him, I still forgive him deeply. Plus, he had stopped living that wild life once he got married to Marcelle in 1970. They had a lasting relationship and they became a wonderful couple with beautiful children. So it doesn't really matter what Adam did in his past, it didn't continue into his future. He has been forgiven, and I still love him as Batman and as himself.
By all reports that we know of , Westy preferred 8 dudes a night. Right along with Richard Chamberlain, Robert Conrad, Rock Hudson, Barry Manilow... All a bunch of knob gobblers
While I was attending Sam Houston State in Texas, Adam West came to the campus and they showed the Batman movie. Afterwards he did a question and answer with us.
I remember as a kid, these two showed up at our local Mall and put on a show....part of it was they broke wooden boards like they do in Tae Kwon Doo.....I was able to get West to autograph one of the broken boards....sadly, I think my mother threw it away eventually while cleaning out the house after I went off to college.....so that would have been a pretty cool collectible to have, although there was no certificate of authentication to go with it.....anyway, quite the memories and I'm sure these two must have had a great time at the local bars on these tours they went on.....I'm thinking it was in the mid 70s they did these types of tours.....
Assuming he and Ward weren't exaggerating, all indications are West might have been quite unique, possessing an extremely rare, near-extinct, male capacity not necessitating a "down time" after each "quickie." While still considered "physiologically impossible" by Science, yet there are precedents in history... and, ironically, also in Science. Yet research into the matter has always been forbidden.
3 quick points. 1: Seeing this, I realize that the Mad Magazine satire "Bats-Man" had keen insight. "Gray Dickson" is using Bats-Cave surveillance on Jill St. John, only to be chided by Bats-Man, but then Bats-Man explains how their roles can be parlayed into dating lots of hot women. Mad was not just satire, at times it could be uncanny journalism. 2. Adam West conquered Mars. The "Outer Limits" episode "The Invisible Enemy" is a bit silly, puppets in a sandbox, but in the role of intrepid astronaut Chuck Merritt, West and his crew were able to defeat monsters and clear the Martian frontier. 3. While I'm happy that he was able to meet James Bond Girls like Jill St. John and Lana Wood, I wonder if he could have hooked up with Julie Newmar or Yvonne Craig. That would have been mythic.
They told him there had been 18 different Tarzans. The show had three different actresses play Catwoman, 3 different play Mr. Freeze and they had two actors play Riddler and a Puzzler that was similar to the Riddler.
I used to pal around with singer Jody Reynolds back in the 80's in Palm Springs. He used to screw 5 women a night when he was on tours during his 'Endless Sleep' heyday. I asked him how in the world he could do that and he told me, "Easy - they line up at the door to your dressing room or hotel room and you just tell them to take a number."
Super heroes started in comic books. Batman preceded Superman. The Shadow was first on radio, followed by Superman. Superman moved to animated shorts in 1941, followed by serials with Superman, Batman and Captain Marvel (Shazam) among others. The TV Adventures of Superman ran from 1952-1958. George Reeves died in 1959.

Superman wasn’t the introduction of super heroes in general with George reeves in 1959 ???
Super heroes started in comic books. Batman preceded Superman. The Shadow was first on radio, followed by Superman. Superman moved to animated shorts in 1941, followed by serials with Superman, Batman and Captain Marvel (Shazam) among others. The TV Adventures of Superman ran from 1952-1958. George Reeves died in 1959.
@@Emacee1701 The film industry lacks originality, recycling all those old cartoons. Kids watch that. This is not great cinema or tv even but money making machine. I have 0 interest in this kind of "cinema" .
Superman was created in 1938.
Batman was created in 1940.
