I bought this. Yeah, the high gain tones sound like ass at first, but seriously after 5 minutes or so of EQ and multiband compression they sound pretty damn real. Overall I still think Positive Grid has a good bit of progress they still need to make, but out of all the amp sims out there, this is the one I use the most.
This is some seriously cool software. Even if you have decent gear it's like having keys to guitar center and being able to play around all all night with different amps, pedals, mics, cabs... Including thousands of free setups. The convenience of having a number of monster rigs in a laptop is priceless. Starting to sound like a major plug.. however I'm just grateful for grabbing a great deal on the Bias Platinum rig with their holiday half-price sale. Happy holidays fellow rockers 🤘
Thanks, Fluff! This was very helpful. I see that the "hiss" from the original Bias is no longer there, which is great news. Edit - Forgot to say that the Cobra amp sounds mean as hell
I'll be honest I wasn't that into any of the tones sans maybe the opener. They all seemed to have that amp sim spikey harmonics that I personally don't care for.
Fluff, would you consider using BIAS Amp 2 for an album or professional recording, if that were the most feasible option you had (like, if you didn't have the appropriate room to mic an amp)?
I grew up on analog. Now that I’ve decided to learn playing, effecting, composing and recording; I need much more than I have. I’m engaging this technology. I’ll commit as much to analog as I can as I go. I want eventually to design pedals and effects that both sides will seek to emulate. I’m not that smart but I have a way of seeing what others have missed. Not bragging exactly, I just prefer not to go with my weaknesses till I have a target to focus on, or someone I trust to address those weaknesses. Analog guy here, but I’m getting this or something like it. It’s not just a pallet of possibilities - it’s a map, effect education, history lesson and an analog challenge/design spec.
ı cant use bias fx with other audio software simultaneously because it blocks sound( for ex : RUclips backing tracks ,apps like guitar pro app , mp3 tracks ( only there is one section you must load mp3 inside bias ) do you know how ı can handle ?thanks
Loving the dual-mic addition myself. On the stock cabs it really lets you dial out the fizz and thicken up the tone a bunch. Only gripe is there’s no “off axis” option as of yet.
Owning the Dad stuff. I like it. The biggest difference between a guy who's been playing guitar for 20-30 years and a kid who's been playing for 2 years is everything.
The amp match sounds more than an " Eq match" to me because (I'm maybe wrong cause I didn't listen with my monitoring) i didn't notice a lot of difference between the Audio sources (coming I guess from the preamp section) concerning presets of the same range
I got Bias amp 2 awhile back and I’d say I’m not impressed, but that’s an understatement. If you want to RECORD anything you better be ready to patch the shit out of everything because if you don’t, unless you’re ok with playing with next to no gain on anything that isn’t a purely clean setting; your tracks are going to clip beyond belief. I’ve used it on some gigs, but honestly even with a really good live rig you’ll still get a very out of control sound a lot of the time even after hours of trying to patch everything. I’m ok with doing some tweaking to make something sound better, but if something sounds really bad then there’s no point in overprocessing everything to make it sound feasible at best. Positive Grid hasn’t listened to any of the feedback they have gotten by the people who aren’t pleased with Bias (in general) to make it better since it’s been released because they only care about the people who are aimless followers of the big youtubers who promote it and therefore they will have the same opinions of it as said youtubers, and now they keep slashing their prices because a lot of people have decided that they’re not falling for it anymore. This video truly shows that Bias and PG hasn’t changed at all.
If you ever get a moment to check them out, I'd love to hear your opinion of my Randall Thrasher presets on Bias 2 . I did one with an off axis SM 57 and a second with a Sennheiser E 609.
The software is good, but there is something wrong with the gain options on their amps. Instead of adding more edge and distortion to the sound... it adds more grit and “mud”. I’ve tested this in multiple amps in the plugin and they all do the same thing. If you want to add more distortion to your tone, the gain won’t help after about 5... you’ll have to add an entirely separate plugin to go alongside this one to get that extra bite to your tone. Hopefully that can fix the muddy sound issue with the gain at some point.
Off topic from the video but did some researching and I haven't found anything on this subject. I am curious to know which fretboard wood type is better, I've seen a reoccurring theme that many high end guitars are made typically with an ebony fretboard, is this coincidence or is ebony best?
Best Audio/Music Production Course the last time I bought something due to endorsement was a pair of Nikes because I wanted to jump like Jordan. Since then, I've been jumping like me and enjoy it.
wheresallthezombies bias 2 still sounds weak on it's chest compared to what the helix delivers. Yes the old pods weren't that great but the helix is almost on one level with the big axe fxs and way more user friendly. The effects are also beautiful. You can also think about getting the ax8, a amplifire or even a used kemper!
alright cool. I've actually never had a problem with the old pods. yes people made them sound bad, but there were also a lot of guys that made them sound awesome. Ill probably just stick with my original idea and get the rack helix, mostly just to use as a studio tool.
Fluff I love my carburetors too, but it is true that FI is just way better. I hope I was the only person to understand what you were talking about. But good demo loved the bass tone.
When using the first bias amp software in reaper I can't search the tone cloud because I can't hit enter to search and there is no "magnifying glass" logo search button. It used to work fine but stopped recently. Anyone know how I can solve this? Also I can't use spaces to search the tone cloud without starting record?
Hey, im plugged into my Scarlet 2i4 and using Bias amp 2, however im getting a clean tone alone with a tone frm an amp i have selected. Im pretty new to this so can u tell me what im doing wrong.
Toward the right side of your Scarlet 2i4 there will be a small black knob. Under it says, Input - Playback and further down says Direct Monitor. This Direct Monitor knob allows you to balance the sound coming immediately out of your guitar to the sound being processed in your computer. Turn that black knob completely clockwise to Playback. This will give you the amp from Bias Amp 2 only.
i recently purchased bias amp2 and connected my guitar through scarlet solo 2i2 interface and i've set everything up but it only gives clean sound of my interface, and i've emailed positive grid 2 weeks ago, still no answer, and i've tried another amp sim to make sure that the problem isnt from the interface, it worked well, does anyone knows anything about the situation ?
I recently got a helix and I’m really having Trouble getting tones I liked as much coming from jamup and an Irig, but the stock tones from these amps all sound kinda squashed so I’m like do I get or not get
AJ Brown The great thing about Bias Amp is the customization. You can tweak not only knobs, but tubes, amp bias (how hot or cold the tubes get), transformers, mic placement, you can seriously customize and make an amp setting that fits your sound perfectly. I love using Bias Amp but the only stock tonecloud setting I saved was the PG 5150 for shits and giggles. Get a demo of Bias Amp 2 and try it out. And if you really like it, pair it with Bias FX. After they integrated the two I fell in love with Bias tones all over again
I prefer the 4g63t turbocharged & 2.4edz NAalso turbo'd engines. Cleans is decent but others yuck you should do a shootout Positive Grid Bias Amp 2 verse the Randal Century 200.
Gave BIAS a go and the amp match feature failed miserably lol. I use Amplitube 4 and this program didn't compare. I am sure this program works for many people, just not my guitars. Funny how it all works out in the end. The SLO-100 in Amplitube 4 + EMG actives is beyond amazing for me.
Can someone help me I’m on iPhone and I made a vh4 preset and I clicked save as renamed the amp and stuff and I switched to make a clean sound to compliment the dirty but I went to switch back to the dirty amp to find that it’s gone and the preset is named what I chose but it’s the stock vh4 when u select it so if someone can help on how to properly save and overwrite a preset I would be very thankful
The high-gain tones suffer the same way they did on v1. They just sound... muffled to me. Like they are being played through a tiny AM radio. I'm playing these through decent computer speakers, not monitors, but still.... I feel like I am missing something huge that's causing them to consistently sound so bad.

Where they sound like this FX and the old amp, I always found it was the cab selection. Reckon these could be good if you fiddled around with that, but yeah I'm really not sold either.
BIAS Amp 2 is indeed astonishing! I always thought Bias (Amp and FX) was way overhyped...but BIAS Amp 2 really shines for me! Not so much into the 100 presets that their praising, I also think they're pretty thin and fake. But I get VERY good results with tweaking, exchanging amp internals and using 3rd party IRs from 3Sigma and Rosen Digital. My new amp simulation to go! \m/
Hey Fluff, quality review as usual. Might I suggest one thing? Maybe try to add in some room mics or more raw tone. You've got some killer tone but sometimes it makes various gear sound kinda the same. I know this is for a program but maybe try it on some other gear. I don't mean this as an insult but rather a suggestion. \m/
So many people are shitting on this, when it sounds fine. Not fine enough for me to justify an undiscounted upgrade from Bias 1, comparable to what comes stock with everything else I've listened to
The more reviews on the profiling amps I hear, the more it's cementing my decision on never buying one. I will have to stick with the real tube amps as it's so night and day. The profiling amps all remind me of bias through headphones on ipad regardless of being in person through a cab or monitor even. Just not for me, but an awesome review helping people like me who were on the shelf.
I'm getting at least as good of a sound out of Bias Amp 2 as anything else. And I've got Helix,Amplitube 4,TH3,S Gear 2.7,ReValver 4,Guitar Rig 5,Mercuriall Reaxis/Spark/U 530,Brainworx,JamVox,Kazrog,etc.It's a major improvement from Bias Amp 1 IMO.I think the power amp modeling is at least equal to the Two Notes Torpedo stuff, and a notch up from Fractal/Helix/Amplifire.
"I love me some blues and you should too…" then goes on to chug some metal.
I love it. 😂
I thought the same...
You can take the dad out of the mosh pit…
There would be no rock or metal without the blues.

Rudy Ayoub whats up bro i didn’t expect to see you here

Man it looks like these amp sims are getting more and more sophisticated with all the options at your finger tips.
Very straight to the point Ryan. We will be using Bias Amp 2 in our Lizard Spit Winter NAMM 19’ booth - we love Positive Grid ! 🤘🏼
Thanks, Fluff! This was very helpful. I see that the "hiss" from the original Bias is no longer there, which is great news.
Edit - Forgot to say that the Cobra amp sounds mean as hell
Was the output cranked on the high gain examples? They seemed really hot.
I'll be honest I wasn't that into any of the tones sans maybe the opener. They all seemed to have that amp sim spikey harmonics that I personally don't care for.
I like amplitube 4 ok. I actually like some of guitar rig 5 as well.
My favorite for high gain (affordable) tones though is Kazrog.
Is the Bias Amp Power Rack Works with BiasAmp2? or do we get stuck with V1?
Fluff, would you consider using BIAS Amp 2 for an album or professional recording, if that were the most feasible option you had (like, if you didn't have the appropriate room to mic an amp)?
I grew up on analog. Now that I’ve decided to learn playing, effecting, composing and recording; I need much more than I have. I’m engaging this technology. what is that guitar model you said roo fastt it sounds and looks epic
Your thoughts about Ampitube 4 vs Bias AMP 2?
I switched from AmpliTube to BIAS FX on the iPad. Love it. Selling my GT-100 now.
Loving the dual-mic addition myself. On the stock cabs it really lets you dial out the fizz and thicken up the tone a bunch. Only gripe is there’s no “off axis” option as of yet.
Is there a phase dial at all for each mic?
Ectoplasmic36 you can adjust the “distance” of each mic from the cab in the UI
One thing I don't like about the mics is that there isn't much tonal difference between them
Tavares Project yeah it is kind of subtle, and even more so in a full mix. I did notice a difference, and it helps to get a fuller tone IMO
Reaxis?
How do you keep the guitar DI tone out of the mix while tracking?
How do you get rid of the latency? I have the buffer set to 64. Any lower it pops. Still a bit of latency. Is that just how it is? Thanks.
Is the GUI still laggy?
Maybe a demo of non-metal and even hi-gain tones in standard tuning would be the way to go?
You will always be my dad fluff
Owning the Dad stuff. I like it. The biggest difference between a guy who's been playing guitar for 20-30 years and a kid who's been playing for 2 years is everything.
If you don't quite like the presets can you tweak them to your taste?
Absolutely entertaining and informative. I laughed, I cried(because now I have to spend more money). Thanks, man!
It works in pro tools?
I can`t save my new presets that I`ve made ( FX Elite 2 ) !! it asks me to rename and save m but then nothing happened .. any clue Please :)
Ryan, where did you get you acoustic treatments in the room?
Were there any latency issues at first?
Is there any way to organize amps in Bias Amp 2?
"I love me some blues!"
CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG
That tune was delightful
was this filmed on the new Canon?
I'm still waiting for my spark amp, ordered it in December.
Man, I usually only get excited about bass tone when it's Nolly, but that is a sick bass sound Fluff!
Can you do more stuff on the bass?
The amp match sounds more than an " Eq match" to me because (I'm maybe wrong cause I didn't listen with my monitoring) i didn't notice a lot of difference between the Audio sources (coming I guess from the preamp section) concerning presets of the same range

IanEdwardMusic take the complaining somewhere else bro
What are the speakers? This is VERY important! Bias sounds very different in Hifi/monitors/guitar speakers.
If you ever get a moment to check them out, I'd love to hear your opinion of my Randall Thrasher presets on Bias 2 . I did one with an off axis SM 57 and a second with a Sennheiser E 609.
So they did a LS swap?
Will you make a video about the new amp match system?
Do these irs work with other software if I got the elite version? Thinking bout picking up a two notes cab sim 2nd hand. Real new to the ir world.
Fluff been holding out on us...I've been waiting for this video...
hi fluff great video, bias amp sound great but is dificoult to blend that guitars on the mix...some tips to work with bias products?
why does drop tunings always sound awsome on any amp with distortion....i cant seem to find anything better than my th2 and th3 from overloud.
The software is good, but there is something wrong with the gain options on their amps. Instead of adding more edge and distortion to the sound... it adds more grit and “mud”. Yaay New stuff from Positive grid

it just looks nice is all.
Mahogany and ebony or alder and rosewood
You rock Fluff! Keep doing what you do!
i have an pod ux 1 from line 6, can i use this as hardware for the bias amp 2 software? or do i need to buy something else?
Lari Basilio has the best voicing choices on RUclips in my opinion and she's all about positive grid.
Best Audio/Music Production Course the last time I bought something due to endorsement was a pair of Nikes because I wanted to jump like Jordan. Since then, I've been jumping like me and enjoy it.
Don't really fancy the plugin but I loved the little tune you composed. One of your best, I'd say. Nice!
Fluff, seriously awesome riffs!! Dads Rock!!
any chance you'll get ahold of the positive grid mini heads? I'm trying to decide between that or the line 6 helix rack.
wheresallthezombies go for the helix.
any specific reason?
wheresallthezombies bias 2 still sounds weak on it's chest compared to what the helix delivers. Yes the old pods weren't that great but the helix is almost on one level with the big axe fxs and way more user friendly. The effects are also beautiful. wheresallthezombies good plan! I can only afford a mooee ge200. Wish you a lot of fun!
hey i love your wallpaper very much, could you share it?
Fluff I love my carburetors too, but it is true that FI is just way better. I hope I was the only person to understand what you were talking about. But good demo loved the bass tone.
Love the videos Fluff!
Please do a video for that UA thing...i really want to know what it does lol
This review seems a little bias...crunchy like a mud pie
7:12, dude almost played the intro for "Hyperdrive", by Devin Townsend.
When using the first bias amp software in reaper I can't search the tone cloud because I can't hit enter to search and there is no "magnifying glass" logo search button. It used to work fine but stopped recently. Anyone know how I can solve this? Also I can't use spaces to search the tone cloud without starting record?
High Gain stuff sounds pretty flubby. The only good sounding one was the Bogner Uberschall.
Hey, im plugged into my Scarlet 2i4 and using Bias amp 2, however im getting a clean tone alone with a tone frm an amp i have selected.

Internet: YOU KILLED MY FATHER!
Fluff: No, I am the internet's dad.
Internet: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Lol. What was that at 7:28?
Great video. Going to download and test my Bias Amp 2 this weekend =) Been using Bias FX, Bias Amp for years =)
i recently purchased bias amp2 and connected my guitar through scarlet solo 2i2 interface and i've set everything up but it only gives clean sound of my interface, and i've emailed positive grid 2 weeks ago, still no answer, and i've tried another amp sim to make sure that the problem isnt from the interface, it worked well, does anyone knows anything about the situation ?

a little grey ain't it? Keep it up with the new camera
I was going to ask for more outtakes but you left the Mastadon mess up in there, that's cool though it makes it more real Fluff!
I prefer the 4g63t turbocharged & 2.4edz NAalso turbo'd engines.
Cleans is decent but others yuck you should do a shootout Positive Grid Bias Amp 2 verse the Randal Century 200.
Where is the cloud?
Gave BIAS a go and the amp match feature failed miserably lol. I use Amplitube 4 and this program didn't compare. I am sure this program works for many people, just not my guitars. Funny how it all works out in the end. The SLO-100 in Amplitube 4 + EMG actives is beyond amazing for me.
I thought the Friedman patch sounded sick.
Great tones! Awesome job!
Can anybody tell me how to get that bass tone?
Can someone help me I’m on iPhone and I made a vh4 preset and I clicked save as renamed the amp and stuff and I switched to make a clean sound to compliment the dirty but I went to switch back to the dirty amp to find that it’s gone and the preset is named what I chose but it’s the stock vh4 when u select it so if someone can help on how to properly save and overwrite a preset I would be very thankful
Is it worth it to upgrade to bias 2? Or just expand the amp options I have in my current bias fx license?
No
Love the Bass Head's Title LOL
yooooooo do a video comparing the bias head, kemper, and axe fx
The high-gain tones suffer the same way they did on v1. They just sound... muffled to me. Like they are being played through a tiny AM radio. I'm playing these through decent computer speakers, not monitors, but still.... I feel like I am missing something huge that's causing them to consistently sound so bad.
Try a preset call "super sag" sounds 100x tighter than mine
Fluffs got a stingray!! Fancy Fancy
Matty Robinson I saw him holding his pinky up as he was playing it. LOL
Why not many people uses TH3? It sounds sick, probably better than Bias.
I think that high gain section sucks
Nortido
Like real life :D
Its his EQ. And amp settings. Fluffs tone has always been super punchey in a weird trebble sounding way
Kaelan Saunders you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about
Bias rocks. Dad tones rule!
That tune sounds a lot like R,r stuff. Maybe it’s already a song and I’m not good at remembering it or it’s from the new stuff they’re coming out with
Still sounds thin to me.
I think it's the Fluence pickups... All the pros seem to like them but they always sound so thin to me.
Nah. It's thin, simple as that.
Where they sound like this FX and the old amp, I always found it was the cab selection. Reckon these could be good if you fiddled around with that, but yeah I'm really not sold either.
I use the old one with custom IRs the stock ones are just plain bad, but its a fantastic piece of software once you add some decent ones
matdan2 wut
BIAS Amp 2 is indeed astonishing! I always thought Bias (Amp and FX) was way overhyped...but BIAS Amp 2 really shines for me! Not so much into the 100 presets that their praising, I also think they're pretty thin and fake.

Those matching sounds still don't sound like much to me. Always just scooped the hell out of it.
So many people are shitting on this, when it sounds fine. Not fine enough for me to justify an undiscounted upgrade from Bias 1, comparable to what comes stock with everything else I've listened to
I gave you a like purely because you said 'lets do....'da metals'.....love it. edit: btw Ubershall sounds awesome!!
Spring reverb is the only way to go.
The more reviews on the profiling amps I hear, the more it's cementing my decision on never buying one. I will have to stick with the real tube amps as it's so night and day.
