When I was kid, I watched this movie without knowing anything about it, because I never saw the trailer. and BOOM this movie kept me glued from start to finish. It's a really fun and thrilling viewing experience.
A trailer that explains in some sentences what the movie is about? Gods, the atrocity! I agree, who needs a narrator when you have movie trailers in this age that just shows you the entire movie, so you dont have to go anymore...
I still watch The Predator movies to this day 🙂. I loved watching these movies when i was a teenager and those were the glory days of movies 🙂. They sure don’t make movies this awesome anymore nowadays .
One if the best action/80s movie ever!! I still watch this on a regular basis. God I miss movies when they were actually simple and good; And weren't some raging epic ALL the time.
Jesse Ventura was delighted to find out from the wardrobe department that his arms were one inch bigger than Arnold Schwarzenegger's. He suggested to Schwarzenegger that they measure arms, with the winner getting a bottle of champagne. Ventura lost, because Schwarzenegger had told the wardrobe department to tell Ventura that his arms were bigger. Dutch's line "Get to the chopper!" is Arnold Schwarzenegger's personal favorite catchphrase of all of his films that he appears in. The Predator's blood - a goopy substance with the color of Mountain Dew - was made on-set using a mixture of the liquid from inside glow sticks and KY Jelly. The Predator costume weighed over two hundred pounds, and even though 7'2" Kevin Peter Hall was a large and powerful man, he had to be connected to a "bungie" rig, to enable him to move more believably.
Love how, like the movie, the trailer starts off as a typical action movie. But as it goes on we realize something else is at play… it’s here for sport.
This premiered on HBO in 1988. I remember sleeping over my buddy Shawn’s house playing original Nintendo, then watching this with a bowl of ice cream and going back to playing Nintendo after the movie was over. Simple but fond memories.
I saw this in theaters when i was 5 years old after my 5th birthday as i saw it with my 12 year old big brother and my parents when i lived in St Louis

At 1:08 there is a slightly extended cut of the predator right before Hawkins death. In the movie you only see a brief view of the Predator camouflaged, but in this trailer, you actually see him land. I have always wondered why they decided to make that particular cut. Perhaps the whole "less is more" point of view.
"Whoa, whoa! There's plenty of meat on them men. Now you take them to the jungle, throw in an alien, add some explosions, baby you've got a stew going!"

Ok so how will they show you what the movie is all about using trailer?
back at the 80's you could watch the movie with just the trailer.
You only usually saw the trailer a couple of times, no Internet back then to replay over and over.

0:57 when Sonny Says that line, still gives after so many years Chills to the core spine!
"Predator"(1987) is an excellent action sci-fi movie, with an evocative and very atmospheric soundtrack!
If It bleeds, we can kill it!!
"Tell me, do you bleed? You will!"
For me, there only has been 1 Predator movie,
Only 2 Terminator movies
Only 3 Die Hard movies.
Predator 2 wasn't so bad (IMO).
Die hard with a vengeance is my favorite.
I like the fourth Die Hard, especially the R-rated cut. Kevin Smith's cameo was funny. 🤣
And only 5 Rocky Balboa movies
Donald Lafontaine = king of the trailers

When horror and intensity collide
Unlike the Xenomorphs, the Yautja (predators) have honor and mercy on the humans.

So good movie❤
I love the movie but soon I'm going to get it for Christmas.
When I first heard about Predator via the OG AVP movie, I never imagined that the hero of the first Predator movie would be Arnold Schwarzenegger.
So we just gonna gloss over the fact that this trailer is basically the entire movie including the ending and it's was still a banger of a movie.
Along with Alien and Aliens it's the best of this genre of film .
So that’s where the arm meme came from

It's the best one next to the 2010 reboot
Made $59 million on a $15 million budget
It actually opened to negative reviews originally when it was released
Directed by John McTiernan who also did Die Hard 2
Love how original the idea is of an alien hunter stalking and killing for sport than can't be seen
Again it takes over an hour to get things going but it's a thrill ride
One of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most memorable flicks with some catchy one-liners and ultra violence despite the casual misogyny and homophobia
Amazing they got wrestler Jesse Ventura and future-director Shane Black in the cast , stinks Sonny Landham passed away 5 years ago
The masculine facade cleverly disguises the efficient storytelling
It's the meaty symbol of friendship among these men that holds it together next to the action and slick effects
Love Alan Silvestri's score
Stinks the sequel failed to live up to it and the AVP movies haven't measured up
I'm really hoping Prey lives up to the original's legacy this august on Hulu
