@Jonathan Kasulke Yeah, because the main purpose of them being tin the game is they’re replacing and filling in for the Squid Sisters when Callie went missing and Marie was struggling and trying to rescue her, Off the Hook’s situation isn’t exactly like the Squid Sisters’, where they were working on other stuff which meant they were separate from each other which was what caused them to slowly drift apart and Off the Hook don’t seem to be showing any signs of separating or drifting apart, they haven’t mentioned or hinted at anything, so I reckon that they’re continuing, I believe they were even talking about touring, so it would make sense for them to also show up in Splatsville, it could also be like a “reminder of home” a reminder of Inkopolis, our inkling’s/octoling’s original home I personally think it would it would also be somewhat lazy it Nintendo just pulled the “Team wins splatfest, idol on opposite team gets squidnapped and/or turns evil” thing again. Just because the final splatfests seem to affect the story, it shouldn’t mean that they should do the same plot over and over again, because I’m kind of concerned that that’s what it’s going to be like and don’t get me wrong, that would be cool, but I just think there may be other ways that they could incorporate the theme into the story or even just the game

at 16:59 i think ryu-chang looks like mike portnoy, dream theater drummer, which idk if its just a coincidence but i think the devs know a lot about western music and their styles cause of the similarities, i mean with the octo expansion everyone mentions the tupac and biggie outfits for pearl and marina, but i also like the pointing out of hightide eras billie joe outfits! i just adore little details like this as someone who lives for music, i love the world building in this game and how they use music to do that

I'm sure Paruko is a pun on PARCO, which is Japanese department stores that caters towards a young, hip crowd. Shibuya PARCO is know as the place of official Nintendo store in Japan and the appearance of shops is also similar to Splatoon3's Hotlantis.
In terms of Splatoon 1 itself, it felt like the main thing the developers wanted for this game was a sound that was…unorganized and rampant. Going for a sound that feels inspired by bands from the 90s, since many went for very unclean and heavy riffs, often just letting loose with little care. For me, this style was a great way to introduce this series, and gave it an edge in its very upbeat and grunge sort of sound it went for. Though…I do have some thoughts on Splatoon 2’s music, and I’ll put that in the second video.
Upon learning bout Ikkan as an aspiring bassist i was really interested in whoever composed this characters specific play style. He sounds like hes singing through a microwave and it fits so well over his bass playing, its so interesting to me

Hightide Era was my favorite band from Splatoon 1 and the reason I found out about Splatoon band lore in the first place haha. Nowadays I own a shirt from Splatoon with the omega-3 band and I love it so much but I still am waiting for the day when someone actually recognizes it as a Splatoon shirt. here’s an idea: chirpy chips is based off of gorillaz a bubbly guitar player (noiji) is on good terms with a much quieter green bass player (raian) and the drummer is a tall protective guardian (shikaku). the last member likes to play on less memorable instruments like synths or maybe melodicas and is the frontman, in charge of the visual of the band (paruko) paruko lore: “shes described as singing in a low energy way although her voice gets more energetic in her newer songs.” comparing the way 2D sings in clint eastwood to tranz, he gets much more energetic over time, just like paruko. shikaku lore: “he blows a fuse, gets crabby.” russel tends to act similar, especially when he gets woken up from a nap.

Would be interesting to see Paruko return in Splat3 as a solo artist. Maybe she got kicked out of Chirpy Chips for being lazy, and her Clownfish commited... pack up bags and get a new anenome. Maybe she came to the Splatlands in order to help her find a new drive for her music and to use the chaotic energy of Splatsville to make new music. Or heck maybe she'd even appear in the single player campeign as a sort of assist.
That would make an interesting hero mode or DLC and the story could be like that SpongeBob episode ‘Have You Seen This Snail?”, obviously not an exact copy, but it would give off those vibes

I'd expect an english localization someday, but there's no word on it yet. my bet is that we wont see an english haikara walker until around the time of Splatoon 3's release.
Something funny that i've yet to see anyone point out is that one of Namida's nicknames, "Girl from Planet Namik" seems to be a reference to Planet Namek from dragon ball. Just thought that was interesting and (to me) adds another meaning to that nickname, like, maybe shes into shonen manga or something. Or im looking way too deep into things.
13:30 something interesting that your probably already aware of: in the third artbook, they explain that the technical reasoning behind the clownfish's bad health, is because Paruko/Harmony's hair isnt very good at protecting it. My guess is that Harmony may be a species of anemone that cannot sting or release neurotoxins, which clownfish heavily rely on the anemone to do so they can be protected. Perhaps its not that Harmony is neglecting it (not intentionally at least) but rather, she literally cannot protect or care for the clownfish because of her biology. (not being able to sting predators.)
I like thinking that the clownfish is neglecting itself and harmony is just kinda vibing like it's a roommate who can't function as an adult and is just crashing on harmonys Couch

Would be interesting to see Paruko return in Splat3 as a solo artist.
Maybe she got kicked out of Chirpy Chips for being lazy, and her Clownfish commited... pack up bags and get a new anenome.
Maybe she came to the Splatlands in order to help her find a new drive for her music and to use the chaotic energy of Splatsville to make new music.
Or heck maybe she'd even appear in the single player campeign as a sort of assist.
That would make an interesting hero mode or DLC and the story could be like that SpongeBob episode ‘Have You Seen This Snail?”, obviously not an exact copy, but it would give off those vibes

I'd expect an english localization someday, but there's no word on it yet. my bet is that we wont see an english haikara walker until around the time of Splatoon 3's release.

Something funny that i've yet to see anyone point out is that one of Namida's nicknames, "Girl from Planet Namik" seems to be a reference to Planet Namek from dragon ball. Just thought that was interesting and (to me) adds another meaning to that nickname, like, maybe shes into shonen manga or something. Or im looking way too deep into things.

in the third artbook, they explain that the technical reasoning behind the clownfish's bad health, is because Paruko/Harmony's hair isnt very good at protecting it. My guess is that Harmony may be a species of anemone that cannot sting or release neurotoxins, which clownfish heavily rely on the anemone to do so they can be protected. Perhaps its not that Harmony is neglecting it (not intentionally at least) but rather, she literally cannot protect or care for the clownfish because of her biology. (not being able to sting predators.)

I think the clownfish gets attached to a person (NOT PHYSICALLY->MENTALLY) so I think the clownfish knows it’s dying but still loves the girl-what’shernameidkdontaskme.
Even if the clownfish were pets, that doesn't make Harmony neglecting hers any better.
The fact that the bassists all get together and play rainmaker is my favorite thing in splatoon lore ever!
