I plan to place my upgrade order today, from the Flip 4 and Watch 4 Classic to the Flip 5 and Watch 6 Classic, respectively. I'm a techie (a.k.a. geek) girl by nature, and love learning about and experiencing new tech. Though my Flip 4 is only a year old, the larger "flex screen" on the Flip 5 coupled with the amazing trade-in incentives are enough to make me want to upgrade. These will be my "happy one-year book publishing anniversary" gift to myself!😁

I'm 50 and find it unacceptable that a $1k+ flagship phone in its 4th generation doesn't come already equipped to do all apps when its competition does.
I ordered one. My 1st folding phone. I am hoping to make the small display for music, radio, and podcasts for work without the distraction of all the other apps.

Actually, there's no need for Samsung to wait to release a Flip 6 for the small screen to work with all apps. It's a simple update from their One UI to allow user to turn it on or off.

Hey! Love your video! I was wondering about the casetify flip 5 case youre using.is the front cover around the flex display transparent or black?
Hi @niliaaa, the case is transparent with black speckled bumpers. It looks black on the front cover because the Flip 5 has black borders around the front screen.
My watch6 and flip5 is coming tomorrow! So excited! I got a great trade in through verizon 1000 trade in value.
Despite using he same camera hardware, I do see a noticeable difference with the results between the 5 and 4. It's even more apparent in the pics from Danny Winget's video, there's actually an improvement! more than i would've expected, probably updated camera processing/snapdragon 8 gen 2 doin it's thing!
The small size and sheer convenience with a cover display that's better than the old iPhone 3, now makes it even even better, and these factors far outweigh any shortcomings for me.

I put a case on my split and it doesn’t have any space at all anymore with the case, so yeah, I keep mine at another case so no dirt no nothing gets to it but you can’t see through my flip for because the case covers it fits so tight after they put the case on it

I have a question that i have not been able to find the answer for. How did you film your video with the Flip 5 and have it take up the entire screen? In other words, did you film in portrait vs. landscape mode?
Hi @thebonafidebeasley. Assuming you're asking about the cover screen? When you access the camera from the main screen, turn on Cover Screen Preview (right most icon). And then on the cover screen, there is an option to make the preview full screen even when you're taking the photo in portrait.

Reason why your battery drained more than usual is because your network in on roaming see the 'R" next to the network signal.
For most people who will not be on Roaming network, you will have a bit better battery life.

It's going to be a big change. It's tiny compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max and you'll need to get used to using Android. But if you really want to try flip phones, it's worth it!

I cannot wait to get my hands on the Z Flip5. It is great to see compact phones coming back in the form of clamshell foldables. Cameras are not a dealbreaker for me since I know I can get better photos using an actual camera.
The battery isn't fine with flip 5 and my pixel 4 clicks Better photos compared to z flip 5. I purchased it yesterday and I'm regretting it today.

@@philipp3001 it was okay so far. I've only had mine for 3 days. So far it is the same as with my Flip 4 with normal daily use of social media. Starts with 85% at 7am and will be down by 20%-30% by 8pm so to say. I disabled some apps I do not need that runs in the background too.

If the cameras were better i would never even look at another phone. I love my Flip5 but the photos are kind of embarrassing coming from pixel 7. I end up having my fiance take a lot of the photos when we are together because he is still using the pixel. But the rest of the experience with this phone has been so fun!

Can someone please explain as I’ve received conflicting info, and no one is really addressing it - Samsung apparently already added a screen protector and advises not to remove it … so is another screen protector necessary? Can one be applied to the one Samsung supposedly has already added?
There is a screen protector pre-installed. No need to install another one. And yeah Samsung also discourages from removing the pre-installed screen protector yourself.
It's Not really necessary as Samsung gives you one free "Screen Protector" replacement for the first 12 months and it's $19.99 for every subsequent replacement . I am going to put a Hydrogel Screen protector over the factory one because I really don't want to deal with any of that BS, the choice is up to you.

This time next week, I'll have my Flip 5 in hand! I can't wait! It's just stressful doing the trade-in because I'm always paranoid that I won't get the full trade-in amount for some reason. This will be my third time trading a phone in to Samsung directly (I traded in my S20 for the Flip 3 and then the Flip 3 for the Flip 4), and I'm still nervous. I dropped my Z Flip 4 and broke the hinge around Christmas (I bought a Casetify case after that incident to better protect my phone), but I shipped it in and got it repaired by Samsung themselves, so surely it's good enough to get the full trade-in credit. There aren't any cracks, and everything works. I'm just overly nervous because I can't really afford the Z Flip 5 without the full trade-in credit on my 4. It should realistically be fine, though, and I'm mostly excited. This will be my 3rd brand new phone in less than two years (I didn't get the Z Flip 3 until January of '22), but I'm not used to getting a new phone that often. I traded in the Z Flip 3 due to screen protector annoyances, and I'm trading in the Z Flip 4 because the 5 is such a big upgrade, and I've discovered the 4's hinge is less durable. I'm hoping the 5 will last me a solid 3-5 years without turning into a money pit of repairs. As fun as it is to get a new phone, it's also a pain to switch everything over and get settled in again. Hopefully the 5 will be my constant companion until the 8, 9, or 10.

The cameras will do what you need it do. They're not the best but they're not bad at all but if yourea a photographer maybe stick with your phone but if you take average photos you should buy the flip.

I love, love the flip 5 but it's the goshdarn crease that I just can't get over...how are you people ok with that wide gaping crease!!?? Hell if some chinese knock off folding phones can do away with the crease, how is it that Samsung, THE Samsung mega-conglomerate of South Korea which was years ahead when they first unveiled the first folding phone, still hasn't managed to rectify the CREASE?!!
