Can’t speak for everyone else, but I really enjoyed the hand holding clause! I don’t think turn by turn slowed it down too much, and it was fun to see you need to be more tactical with each swap. I definitely think you should keep it for future gym fights
My 2yr old son watches with me everyday and loves laughing at all the sounds effects you guys make! I think it would make his world if a Pokémon was named after him. Male- Jackson
I almost didn't even realize there wasn't an episode yesterday, I've been too busy watching your Legends Arceus vids. Thanks for giving us plenty of Pokemon content as of recent, I don't play the games much anymore but it's nice to still see you guys enjoying them so much. Male: Alistair | Female: Winter
Don't listen to the hate comments, this series is amazing and the hardwork behind the scenes needs to be praised for. Great job Fruit and Joey! 💕 Male: Godzilla Female: Mothra P.S. love the artwork for Toxicroak Fruit!
I really like the hand-holding clause. I think it only breaks down with Arena Trap. Everything else that stops you from switching can be observed before you try to switch. Trapping moves like Anchor Shot tell you that you can't switch out. Binding moves like Bind, Fire Spin, Whirlpool, etc. say that the target is trapped, but I don't think they explicitly say that it cannot be switched out, but that effect is pretty commonly known so it's not a problem. These effects go away when the user switches out. Incidentally, Arena Trap only affects grounded Pokémon (those that can be hit by ground moves). Using Gravity will interrupt Pokémon that are using Fly or Bounce, grounding them immediately. Not only will Smack Down and Thousand Arrows hit Pokémon that are using Fly or Bounce, but they will also ground them until they switch out. Ingrain also grounds the user in addition to preventing them from switching out. Sorry if this isn't news to anyone. It was news to me, and it's an excuse to interact in the comments. Name: Theodoric
Today was Fruit’s turn to get the crazy pokemons when fighting… Also, the pokemons that were supposed to stand there were the galarian Stunfisks, luring with the pokeball trap
Just finished my Pokemon Insurgence playthrough. I did everything except for the Dev Island stuff (because I value my sanity). I learned so much about the game franchise through that experience. 10/10 Pokemon fan game. Also in that trivia at the end of this video speaking about toxic spikes stacking up to two times: that was a key part of my strategy during Insurgence. The more you know :) Male name: Alan; Female name: Alice
Second Gym hype! The teams are looking good, we just have to hope the team members can survive their trainers random bouts of pepega. They also have to pray they don't get ambushed by any other Innards out/ Destiny Bond/ Counter user haha. Today's title is spicy considering the last few episodes, so I am sure this will be another fun one.
With this episode, I haven’t won a single Reddit bet about this series! But I still love it! Keep you the great work! Male: Declan for my son Female: Freya for my daughter
The DLC areas can give you extra areas for encounters. I know you guys don't like them but they can scale with your levels and give you new things like dynamax soup for potential gigantamax mons like Urshifu.
Today is a good day. Got lots of great work done with more to do, my Legends of Arceus arrived, and now I get to enjoy this sweet content!!! Thanks Fruit and Joey! Male: Dukefasco Female: Nieka (knee-ka)
So Mr. Fruit, Your Hakomo’o will evolve at level 45, and the Gabite will evolve at level 48. You might want to consider just throwing them in now, hoping that Gabite can give a bit better type coverage with its move set and actually do some damage.
To Joey - TL;DR: you should have kept your Dark move. Long version: between the dark and steel move, steel is only useful against Fairy, Ice, and Rock - of which Rock and Ice are already covered by your fighting type moves. That means the Steel move only gives you additional coverage over Fairy, which you'd switch out of anyway. On the other hand, the Dark move is useful against less types, which are Ghost and Psychic. The big takeway here, though, is that Psychic is ALSO a type you'd swap out against, but the Ghost coverage is something not only your Fighting moves don't cover but rather they just straight up can't hit Ghost! Keeping your Dark move was 100% the better move, giving you super effective coverage against an enemy type that can't hit you and that you could only normally hit with a neutral water type move, whereas the Steel move only gives you coverage against a typing you should never be attacking in the first place. This would keep Urshifu as an immunity switch-in against Ghost type moves, many of which have Dark types moves that would be 1/2 effective, making him a hard counter. Consider giving him his dark move back?
Slightly terrified at what is about to happen but couldn’t be more excited! TEAM FROEY FOR THE WIN… or joeit? The team name needs some workshopping. Birch for a male and Danielle for a female!
I'm not sure if they know this, but those moves like "Baddy Bad" and "Glitzy Glow" are from Pokémon Let's Go, and are taught to Pikachu and Eevee to basically give them infinite coverage. They always crit but aren't in any other games.
Each partner has their own set of exclusive moves. These moves can be recognized by their cute-sounding, alliteration names that belay their power and utility. You probably saw Zippy Zap. It's an electric-type, physical damage move that can be taught to Pikachu. To make up for not improving its coverage, it has priority +2 (faster than Quick Attack, the same as Extreme Speed) and always crits. Not all of them always crit, though. Instead, they each offer some other effect in addition to damage. For instance, Baddy Bad has Reflect built in, and Buzzy Buzz is guaranteed to paralyze. This is probably to facilitate getting max coverage without worrying about knowing status moves. The fact that these moves keep showing up in this locke is interesting. It means that they still exist in the code somewhere, but no Pokemon is ever supposed to know them. Rather than remove them from the game, the devs gave them an unusable status with an appropriate description.
41:34 is exactly Zavala, the redemption arc for Fruit after his old Nixon-ish voice for Zavala in a Dream Team lmao (if you're still looking for names: either gender: Spooks)
Omg Fruit! I have the same thing where I get absolutely triggered by eating sounds, so I crank ur videos up to eat dinner with my father. Ur good KAHNTENT is a perfect way to drown out eating sounds. Conversation flows well, “So how was your day at school?”, “What?” “HOW WAS UR DAY AT SCHOOL!?” “Oh it was fine. Just chew quieter and I’ll hear you the first time”
Mr. Fruit probably started my love of video games with the original Destiny! My Favorite Part of every day. It'd be cool if you named a pokemon "Nova" after my cat!
Love the content!! Mr. Fruit and Joey are great! I will say I'm not a fan of the hand holding, I feel you guys going through the battles yourself is more fun to watch. But I'm good either way just enjoying!
The little meows from Muffin through the battle music was superb. Name Suggestion: I want Mr. Fruit to use one of his mispronounciations as the name for the given pokemon (Turt Wig the Turtwig, Zap-a-dos the Zapdos) so he can enjoy using the name freely
I saw the post earlier that there would not be an upload today and to my great surprise here we are. I like to view these as I take short breaks from Legends Arceus (full on obsessed with it)
I always watch the nuzlocke videos seeing if I can catch the thumbnail. I love the Joey & fruit friendship and it’s the perfect relaxing video to watch for 10 minute segments in my day. Boy name : mildew Girl name : bear
The reason that Chansey died is Fruit hit it with a physical move. Chansey and blissey have a ton of sp. def. And HP and like 5 defense. I was enjoying the weeks of watching Joey hit them with special attacks because they were STAB. Good times.
Mr. Fruit, if you enjoy those hidden extra effects of moves, check out some of the out-of-battle effects of abilities! Like your Toxicroak's cute charm increases odds of encountering an opposite gendered pokemon in the wild if she's at the lead of your party! :D
3-WAY NUZLOCKE. Ok, so I was in Blue's stream the other day and we were thinking of you guys doing a 3-way nuzlocke and I have a decent idea. Since there are 3 of you, how about a type-themed randomized nuzlocke where you guys have to pick one of the starter types and can only get and use pokemon of that primary type. It'd be funny if it went like, Blue gets water, you get fire to be weak to Blue, and of course Joey gets grass so you should theoretically beat Joey. Then at the end, cagelocke each other to see who ended up with the best team at the end. Could even maybe pick another trio set like Dragon, Fairy, Steel, or Fighting, Dark, Psychic or something interesting. Not every type is in a trio though so it's up to you guys. COULD be a cool series.
Glad to see the locke is back. Hope Joey has no further complications. Edit: The hand holding clause seems interesting enough to keep, however Joey went a few turns ahead of Fruit this time around. Male: Python Female: Amber
I don’t think they ever ended up being off on turns? A few times where someone ended up like a turn ahead, but then they waited a turn for the other to catch up
I have been out of the loop for a while but now I'm back... and I must say that "sussy baka" is the most cursed word combination I've heard in a while.
Guys, you don’t need to go turn for turn with handholding clause. Just communicate and let each other know what you need to do. It takes too long going turn for turn and poor Joey was stuck just watching you for a good bit. P.S. I’d love it if you’d name a pair after my kids Male: JimmyJim Female: BitzyJane
Hey Fruit, I have an idea that isn't gamebreaking that might make some pairs more viable. What if after a successful gym battle, as a celebration of your successful union (winning), you get to pick a pair and "renew their vows," meaning you get to re-encounter that exact same pair, but you get their other ability or a different nature? It's flavorful! Name: Big Poppa or rapples, whichever you think sounds cooler
best part of the ep.- Joey starts the double battle and just starts ramble yelling so Fruit full on jumps in and its just like 15 seconds of rediculous rambling. Thank you for the laugh Name: Willow - Any Gender

That is dripped out! Do not insult poliwag!

I LOVE the handholding clause! I don’t think it slowed down the game play at all. That was a fun dynamic to see, please keep doing it!
