Nice review.
Try putting already boiling water in the kettle and then put it on the stove, remove from heat when it starts hissing/bubble and cool the kettle with cold water under the sink as soon as possible to stop the brewing process.
It should taste less bitter this way, try one time if you like.

Very cute review! I just got my 6 cup and will try soon. So far I had a very hard time opening and closing the top half. Hopefully that gets easier.

Why canola oil and not soap?

I suppose that’s because the abrasives can be removed by oil. She mentioned that she used soap after the oil removal process :)
