I just got my six cup Giannina from you today. It is a well made piece of art!! I wish everything made today was quality like this. It will be a family heirloom and passed down to my children. Plus, it makes great expresso.
I just bought the one cup model. It brews excellent coffee. It is expensive but you are paying for a beautifully crafted and solid espresso maker. Cheers.
Hi there, to use the reducer you simply flip it upside down to reduce the coffee by 50% and half the amount of water. The 3 cups, 6 cups and 9 cups come included with the reducer. The 9 cups are not yet made in the new restyled version and do not have the same stay cool handle. However, due to the larger size of the 9 cup, the handle does not get excessively hot like on the smaller sizes.
Hi Daniel, Sorry for the delayed reply. In the boiler there is a light '0' marker. It is half way up to below the valve, so you will put half the amount of water :) Thanks for the question! Ciao for now, Consiglio's Team
brandons08 medium heat, you can hear the coffee brewing and percolating while it fills the top half of the stove top. You can also tilt the lid carefully to see how much espresso is filling the top. Thanks for your question.
I received my six cup Consiglio stovetop espresso maker yesterday!!! For good measure I brewed just hot water to remove any manufacture residue. I made my first cup of coffee and it was delicious! The flavor was to die for! I’ve had espresso makers in the past but this was a bit different. The handle is in fact warm/cool enough to be able to hold without a towel/oven-mitt. It is heavy which makes it seem sturdy. I am concerned that over time the locking mechanism will loosen up-hopefully not. It is a bit difficult to open, however I find that when placed on a flat surface it is much easier to open than holding it in one hand and trying to twist it with the other. So far I am really happy with my purchase! I must say however that I am a bit puzzled at the interior water tub...it seems coated?
Hey there Natacha, The Giannini interior boiler is not polished and is sand blasted. There is no coating, it is all stainless steel :) Thanks for the comments. Ciao!
Hi there, these come with a reducer, you can make 3 or 6 cups only. For best results only make 3 or 6 cups while using the reducer. We have more information on this in the video.

Hi there, Espresso is recommended as it is stronger-tasting. The water and coffee are only in contact for a shorter period of time compared to a percolator where the water and coffee continually are marrying together to reach a darker-tasting beverage. You can experiment with Maxwell House, but traditionally espresso is recommended with stove top espresso makers. Ciao for now. Link - www.consiglioskitchenware.com/collections/stove-top-espresso-make

How do you take it apart again after brewing? I have the model with the base that screws onto the pot and I wait for it to cool before taking it apart to wash it?
Hi there, this is 100% stainless steel. The whole maker is made from stainless steel inside and out. The exterior is polished for esthetics and the interior is not polished.
@@natachac.5411 the maker is not polished on the inside. It is all stainless steel. Instruction and use manual explains how to properly use and clean the maker. It will not rust. After making the espresso, let cool and then wash maker. Never leave espresso to sit for very long periods of time, that can darken the base or interior more so. You can visit our website “frequently asked question” section to read more.
@Alex L and Natasha C - I've had one of these for about 25 years and there's no rust anywhere, inside or outside. It is entirely stainless steel. The bottom container is not polished inside because there is no need for polishing there. Regardless of whether stainless steel is polished or not, it will not rust.
Hi Sam, the Giannini with locking handle are all stainless steel and made in Italy! Link to product: www.consiglioskitchenware.com/collections/stove-top-espresso-make/brand_giannini? Thanks for the question.
@@Consiglioskitchenware Thank you very much! Do you also know if I could put the espressomaker in the dishing washer? Since it‘s 100 % stainless steel it shouldn‘t be a problem, but the retailer told me to just handwash it. How do you keep the Giannina clean?
@@Katharina108 The retailer gave you good advice. I own the Giannini 6-cup pot. While you could put it in a dish washing machine due to its high quality construction materials, I personally would not do it any more than I would wash my high-quality knives in one. It only takes a moment or two to wash it by hand with standard liquid dish washing soap and you're not risking the effect of the very harsh dish washing machine detergents on the polished finish. The Giannini is the easiest pot to clean of any moka pot I've owned. A dish washing machine would be overkill for it. It's just not needed. I might add that I'd be concerned that residue from the dishwasher might remain trapped in the top section despite the rinse cycle on the dishwasher. It's my opinion that there would be no good way to position it to preclude trapped dish-washing chemicals. It's not an issue at all if you hand wash as you can easily and thoroughly rinse it. The beautiful finish will remain as new if you always dry the Giannini with a kitchen towel after washing.
@@younkint Thank you so very much for taking the time and effort for this advice! You‘re right, it’s super easy to keep it clean, even without the dishwasher. I‘ll wash it per hand to too then, just to be sure.☺️
The only real problem is that the top hinge supports and hinge can come out of alignment, causing the top to "stick-up" a bit, impacting the appearance of the machine. it can be carefully straightened. If it won't return to full normal, it won't affect the making of the coffee but will just look out of place. The gaskets should be replaced every son often.
Hi Alex, Realigning the lid is very easy. The lid hinge can move based on usage or in transit. You can place a flat tool like a screw driver, or kitchen skewer along the diameter just in front of the hinge, then lightly press down. This will realign the lid. Thanks for commenting! I would have liked seeing the reduction feature. Moreover, do you know if the 9/6 version does have the cool-handle-feature nowadays?

Great video, but, I can barely tell what you’re saying because of the reverb and echo in the room. You need to place the microphone right next to you.
Thanks for the tip!
Can I use Folgers or Maxwell House coffee grounds with this?

Wait a sec, the screen that goes into the funnel. Is that a reducer? If you flip it over does that change the pot from 6 cups to 3 cups?
Yes, exactly!
I dont know what size mine is.. mine is 8.5 inches tall.. would that be the 9 cup size? I need to know to buy replacement parts. Thanks

Also, the supply of gaskets runs low from time to time, so keep at least five of these around and when you get down to two, but three more.
Why would you ever need to replace gaskets that frequently? Genuine Q.
How do you take it apart again after brewing? I have the model with the base that screws onto the pot and I wait for it to cool before taking it apart to wash it?
Ho Monisa,
Yes, you will need to allow the unit to cool before you take it apart to clean it.
