I have a 1964 1/2 coupe. 289 4v 4speed. mine was field queen. it was a labor of love and weve been together for 20 years. always had a mustang. first car was a 1971 mach 1. Damn nice job kid!!!! Take good care of her and dont let nobody come between the two of you.

I have to say I was never a huge fan of the coups but as I get older I’m realizing just how great looking they really are..you’ve done a magnificent job on this one. What a beautiful job....

Great job. I am currently working on a 65 coupe. I drove this car back in High School. To give you an Idea, I am now 50 yrs old. It has sat on the side of Dad's house since 1985. It certainly is great motivation to see someone who has restored one and now enjoying the fruit of their labor. Love the color, My 65 was originally black, then a lighter metallic blue, and the last color was a metallic battleship gray. I am going with White this time with Black GT stripes. Started out as a 6 banger 3 speed. Now it has a 302 (5.0 as your generation calls it) and a C5 automatic. (I'm an old guy, what did you expect?) Haven't posted anything in awhile, but my RUclips channel is FloridaMustangMike.

I would have gone for a different shade of blue, or even red ( not red tho cause you pay more insurance and get pulled over more ) but honestly what a great restoration, this is exactly what I'd want to do, not only that but you did it by the time you where 16 meaning you get to pull up to highschool in that beautiful beast, it's a real investment too, keep that in good condition and you have yourself 100k 30 years from now

Yeah, it's a bunch of money. Takes too long; lots of busted knuckles, late nights sanding and you just get sick of it. Almost anybody can buy a new (boring) car.But- look at what you did. We just began our 66 restoration, (after finishing the old truck re-do). Your days of buying gas quietly are over. Strangers gotta come up and talk about it. Well done!

The Mustang looks great..I had a 67 in High School..metallic blue like yours..had to sell it to buy a truck and start working. I know you are proud of yours! Congrats on a damn fine restoration..something to truly be proud of.

Its funny, I was that same age when I bought that same car. I was going to paint it that same shade of Blue(with White Shelby Stripes), but my father forbade me, and I had to paint it Candyapple Red. It turned out to be a good decision : )

quick tips. itll always cost more than you anticipate so set aside more money than you think. don't set in stone a finish date, i was in highschool when i did this project so i had ample free time, try to work on it as often as possible, even if its just for an hour or 2. If you dont know how to do something you can almost always find the answer on the internet. Shop manuals help too. I cannot stress the importance of using proper tools. An old car like this isnt terrible bit if theres a special tool for the job, purchase it

Wonderful. Fantastic job young man. You have a good eye. I really like the color you chose. I have quite a few classic cars and I am INSPIRED by the fact that a young fellow your age chose to do this car. You should be very proud because you have a shown a lot of hard work and have a beautiful automobile to show for it.

Due respect for restoring a beautiful car, and props for sticking with it and not quitting, but you should have left it the original color. Very well done paint job, but I'm a big fan of the red, and also keeping a car the way it came from the factory.
