Its so surreal to see how far Fit For a King has come over the years. I remember when they were still local. Im from Dallas and they are from Tyler, TX. They were still local, but they were one of those really popular, “big” local bands that was usually at the top of the bill. My band at the time, played a show with them at a Skatepark called Eisenbergs Skate Park in Plano, TX. My band and all the other bands were stoked to play with them, because we all looked up to them and their success, because again, they were that “big” local band and everyone was always talking about them. After the show i got to talk to the drummer, Jared Easterling (think thats how you spell his last name). He was super nice and down to earth. I remember, he was playing an a green Shine custom drum kit at the time. I fangirled so hard because i thought that was the coolest kit and I loved Shine Custom drums (still want a kit to this day even though they aren’t around) i want to say this was around 2011-ish, a little before they got signed to Solid State in 2012. They are the nicest dudes i’ve met in any band. I’m so happy with all they achieved as a band and it’s still so cool seeing how far they have come. If any of you guys in FFaK read this, you guys are the best and a huge inspiration the the Dallas metal scene.
@@aidankintz9285 been screaming for 15 years and I can honestly agree. When people ask me I legit tell them I have no idea I screamed until I figured things out over time haha
In another video he says his highs are fry but his other stuff isn’t exactly either false cord or fry. But I think in general his sound is more fry than anything.
Avenged Sevenfold influenced me into heavier metal. I am so happy that a singer was influenced by Chapter four. I love Chapter Four, Remenissions, and Second Heartbeat off of Waking the Fallen. Great album
Holy shit! EVERY SINGLE TIME I ever get strep throat I would get frustrated and try and scream anyway until I too would loose my voice entirely and after it would heal my screaming would be changed to entirely different pitches being easier! Got to meet ryan in august of 2019, amazing people. Sad i couldn't see them this year but im looking forward to seeing ffak in NC again! Loving the new album, and also FFAK is the band that got me back into metal and metalcore

ruclips.net/video/pXkOdke_8TI/видео.html For those of you wanting to hear the band he was talking about that inspired him to be in a band. You're welcome lol. They were huge in the D/FW Texas local scene for a while.
Do you mean Slipknot made you appreciate heavier music and now you like Death metal/Deathcore? Or are you calling Slipknot death metal? They’re not death metal (I thought they were at one point as well, I hope this doesn’t come off as sounding pretentious, and correct me if I’m wrong). If I’m misinterpreting anything, my apologies. If you actually think Slipknot is death metal, I can give a lot of great “real” death metal and/or Deathcore bands to hopefully expand your love of metal. Just trying to be helpful \m/
I learned when I was 15 I started screaming to Silverstein and atreyu. I’d scream in my car while I was driving, I couldn’t ever figure out how to project my vocals though like I was stuck in that whisper scream stage then I was like oh yea it’s a scream you gotta be loud and when I tried it just happened. Side note, I met Shane told, the vocalist of Silverstein a couple years later at my first warped tour, he was by himself at their booth and I told him he was a huge influence and the guy just stood there looking around ignoring me so my buddy told him to have a scream off with me and Shane goes “I’m on break” lol guy was a total douche

I’d love to see a second part to this series where they actually scream or possibly even teach a bit about technique
I think he does vocal lessons. But to inform you, he uses vocal fry.
He doesn't even know what technique he uses lol. He's said he just started screaming and found what quirks best for him

I heard Scarlxrd, then started liking metal
Demon hunter was what got me into metal, thank killing floor 2 for me even finding the band
My guy has a voice as smooth as butter and a scream as sharp as knives
I believe it is because of the all the post editing or because of the noise reduction with the mic.
