Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity! Was a wicked fun chat, and I hope my "how I learned to scream" story inspires others to give it a try! 😊
For real I found out about Justin back in middle school through Jared dines vocal contest and been waiting for him to get some of the recognition he deserves
never heard of em till now and did a quick search and listened to several songs,in particular overcofidence, what a damn song, his vocals are absolutely crazy
It's worth watching Hungry Buttons channel and see the struggle, energy, passion and effort he and the other members of the band are using trying to get there. They truly deserve it. And we need that fresh blood now the "dinosaurs" are retiring or hanging their instruments for one reason or another.
The best vocalist in the game finally gets the recognition he deserves! Most importantly Tallah is getting the attention they deserve! This makes me so fucking happy
I just looked up the name under Justin's webcam, and the fact that it's just the Japanese for the PS1 game "Ape Escpae" just makes me like him even more than I knew I could, lol. Keep on keeping on! What a lively, and wonderful personality.
I absolutely love this series. It's a great topic since it's really interesting to see how people got into extreme music and how they eventually develop to where they are now, keep up the great work loudwire!
More Tallah content is always good! Justin is one of the most diverse and entertaining vocalists out there today - he and the band deserve all the exposure you can give them!
I saw them as the opener for the all that remains tour in okc back in I think April, had never heard of them before and was mesmerized and blown tf away that I immediately thought to myself "im keeping an eye on this band". Its so fresh yet familiar, and Justin is truly the most insane vocalist in the game right now. Congrats on the new album it is truly an honor to be able to consume it.
I'm not too sure he's going to keep hungry lights going, in the generation to danger album concept explainer video he said he's done the hungry lights thing. That the story took place over 5 albums and its done.
I used to watch Justin's early RUclipsvideos where he would cover all kinds of songs but one from LP stood out to me. He's also funny as hell he would record funny videos with one of his buddy's Rob Dyke. I think he changed his name now but I've been a huge fan of Justin for a longgggg time so glad to see that Tallah is getting some love. Placenta and L.E.D is unfuckwithable
When I met him last week, we discussed why they didn't play vanilla paste. They said he didn't really work out the covering of the other other artists. I said, dude its forgivevable to use backing tracks for cameo artists. Justin said, "Tallah will never use backing tracks, we will always bring it to you RAW!" Such respect! Here's to hoping the other guys get the guts to pick up covering those parts, because that song would be the pinnacle of the concert!
Damn this makes me feel good about my own journey. Except Tallah was the band that got me into trying out all those crazy techniques myself. Kinda crazy to hear that what he did (just chilled and tried to copy his favorite bands) is EXACTLY what I've been doing with Tallah
The screaming techniques video? Please revisit his Hungry Lights channel and look up his video "How To ACTUALLY Metal Scream", where he debunks the misinformation he put out years ago.
@@coba3220 I've been doing harsh vocals almost as long as Justin, albeit not as consistently. Regardless that updated video he put out taught me a ton of stuff and I cannot recommend it enough.
Damn, I started my screaming inspiration from Tim McIlrath from Rise Against too, especialy from the song State of the Union live version with that great scream at the beggining and now Justin is my vocal teacher and his story is almost the same like mine. Damn! Amazing :D
I've been watching the Hungry Covers for a long ass time. I'm so glad they're gaining traction. I can't think of a more deserving band. Keep up the amazing work 👏 👌
iirc, he said a looong time ago when he used to do martial arts his sensei said he looked like krillin bc he had a shaved head at the time, so when she showed up the next day he had the dots tattooed (lol)… but as for the three near his eye, im not too sure
Tallah fans: Okay, so i tried listening to Generation of Danger once but i couldn't get into it. I'm not used to the odd/ ADD song-structures. Should i listen to the whole album again or start somewhere else? P.s. I'm used to metalcore, so maybe that's why it's difficult for me to get into it
Late response but your best bet is to start with Matriphagy, it’s a lot less experimental, but Tallah in general tends to be more of a techy band. I hope you give them a listen sometime soon and try to ease yourself into it, I understand their music can be very jarring to some
@MystifiedSky39 thanks for the reply. I actually have gone back to Matriphagy at least 5 times due to songs like Placenta and L.E.D. it has slowly grown on me. BUT I still have to be in the mood cause the songs are just so long sometimes
Justin has a lot of odd tattoos, he kinda just does what he wants lol so that tattoo is a krillin tattoo from dragon ball z, he just likes the design so he said fuck it I guess 🤷♂️😂
@@MystifiedSky39 hell yeah, that's living life! I'm happy he is able to inspire people in that way. Like, just don't be afraid to be who you are! Stop worrying what others think, as soon as you do that, life becomes a lot easier to live! Because, it's no longer you living up to anyone's standards, it's them trying to live up to yours
Is this the same guy who doesn't take requests on his RUclips channel? Edit - He is a talented vocalist I was just wondering cause his channel was cool but it was just bad when ya couldn't make requests. I guess he changed it though which is awesome. Before the channel description said he didn't take requests.

@@tanner3285 He doesn't do it to be a dick, he just has particular things he wants to go for and wants to cover what he knows and likes. He doesn't always refuse requests though, on livestreams, he'll do covers he knows for a donation of 10 bucks, he'll check out and review someone else's music for 15, and perform an original of his for 20, and of course both the Tallah and Hungry Lights Patreons have various perks.
