Well, Dark Pit isn't really evil. He helps Pit and Palutena when Pit's wings burn off, and he doesn't do anything nefarious from what I remember. Plus, he can fly by himself. He absorbed Pandora, gaining him the powers to fly. He's still a Dark type, but not pure dark. So, Dark Flying.

I personally think adding the psychic typing to both Plautena and Zelda. Zelda wields the tri force of wisdom so like duh. Palutena has knowledge of every fighter, and uses telepathy to communicate with Pit.

@Otacon464 Yes, Robin uses items for magic. However, in the prologue, there is this kinda weird part where Robin says he can see the stats of the enemies (which is meant to explain why you get that information playing the game). If you can not only tell exactly how many people are behind a wall, but also how well-trained they are, what their strong and weak points are, what weapons and other items they are using, how fast they can walk and what special skills they have, I'm pretty certain you're a psychic.
Ok, how would Yoshi be rock? Tyrantrum and Tyrunt are fossils and the only Rock/Dragon types . Yoshi on the other hand (and all the Yoshi ‘s living) is/are not extinct so they can’t be resurrected from fossils. So go ahead and slap Yoshi with that Fairy/Dragon combo. Saying Yoshi is similar to tyrantrum just because they’re dinosaurs is like saying I, a white Czech man am related to Hitler a white German man.
Another thing that makes Normal/Ground type work for Sonic: Ground is one of the only types effective against Steel. Sonic is always destroying robots. This typing works way better than I’d thought

@@ttgb2990 I mean he pretty much can fly using the boost. Just like in that cutscene before fighting Giganto in Sonic Frontiers, along with moves like Cyclone Kick and Sonic Boom. Heck, one of the main things about Sonic Forces was how you could literally fly through the levels using the Boost.

I personally would give daisy a fairy grass typing. A lot of her attacks have some sort of, flower power. Peach just has the turnips, and maybe being the ruler of the toads, but Daisy has Flowers on a lot more attacks.

@@timedragon5492 honestly, at the beggining of the game he was actually tryharding to go for the edgiest attitude possible, but as the plotline progresses we can see him dialing it down, showing his dorkier and softer sides, but then came the sequels pandering to the fan perception of the character and crancked up the edge back to eleven
DarkDragonDs I don’t agree, his game is far more water based than flying. I get the whole windwaker concept, but his character is strongly correlated with sailing across the seas.
To be honest, if bandana dee got in smash bros, and he gets a dream friend ability that allows him to get a fire, water, zap, and bluster spear, his normal type would change. Type: Fairy because he makes friends (and he's a kirby character), and normal because... Yeah. (The normal type would change because the first part)
I always thought Kirby would be dragon/fairy, because the dragon type is infinity, space-y energy. Kirby is a pink puffball that kills Lovecraft in nightmare gods as part of his daily routine. That seems pretty infinity energy to me.
I feel that the Belmonts should be Steel/Fighting or Steel/Fairy since they are vampire slayers. I also thought the WiiFit Trainer could be Psychic type since she is all about zen nature.
So uh I just realized Zacian is literally Link (The BOTW Version) They have quite a bit of blue in their design They both wield enchanted swords that can be considered majestic They both have Steel and Fairy aspects They have been protecting their land for 100s of years
Zacian AND Zamazenta, the Hylian Shield is a little bit less legendary than the sword of Evil's bane but the shield is able to deflect any and all attacks that it managed to delfect one of Galeem's beam attacks without chipping or melting.
@@Muzazabi Hmm... DK could a Grass Type considering he can fight with fruit-based and barrel-based weapons. But I agree that making a Grass-type because he lives in a jungle is poor logic (and same for Ganondorf). Perhaps Ganondorf's evolutions (Beast Ganon!) would have secondary types?
@Otacon464 If we're going with the true Ganon each one is so different that I feel like they'd each have different types. Dark-Fire for Pig Ganon, Dark-Electric for Calamity Ganon, Plain Dark for Beast Ganon, and even though he technically doesn't belong on this list, Ghost-Electric for Phantom Ganon.
I think Sonic should probably be just a straight up Normal Type. Moves like Extreme Speed, for example, are Normal Type, and that move focuses entirely on increased speed.
And for the DLC... Joker: Psychic/Fighting (since his whole shtick is changing the hearts and minds of others, fighting his way through palaces) Hero: Normal/Steel (Probably has Metronome) Banjo and Kazooie: Normal/Flying (Guh-Huh!) Terry: Fighting (No, I am NOT okay) Byleth: Rock/Steel (The weapons he's got are ancient, almost fossil like) Min-Min: Dragon/Fighting (Maybe could switch the Dragon depending on the arm) Steve: Normal (Hi Guys!!! I feel Joker should be Dark/Psychic, because Arsene has curse skills, because curse is basically the dark element, though you could make him Ghost/Psychic because Personas are like ghosts, and *C U R S E* Steve should be Rock/Ground, as he deals with earthly materials
So you tie in Mario, luigi, peach, and daisy with normal because they're both their typing and just everyday people otherwise....but you don't apply this to Ness and Lucas because....?
He could be Rock type rather than Ground. Still weak to water but has moves like Rollout and Accelerock. While Normal is great for Quick Attack, Extreme Speed and Sonic Boom.
Funny thing: In Greninja's classic mode, he fights in Pokemon gym-esque battles. 1st gym: Fire - v/s Charizard and Bowser 2nd gym: Electric - v/s Pikachu, Pichu and Zero Suit Samus 3rd gym: Fighting - v/s Lucario, Ken and Ryu 4th gym: Grass - v/s Ivysaur (and probably Piranha Plant when it gets released) 5th gym: Psychic - v/s Mewtwo, Ness and Lucas 6th gym: Water - v/s Greninja and Squirtle So in a way those non-Pokémon characters have their types confirmed haha.
And, for those of you who are about to argue that "Piranha Plant in someone else's Classic Mode would require you to actually have it, and that would be impossible to implement", no it wouldn't. In both Smash 4 and Ultimate, buying a DLC character, stage or Mii costume doesn't add them to the game's code; that happened with the software update that came on its respective release date. Instead, you're just paying to UNLOCK the content.
I would love to see a follow up on this now that the fighter has been revealed. And would some of the alts be considered different types despite being the “same character”? Like, one of the Hero alts is half-angel, while another is half-dragon. Steve’s character slot also includes a zombie and an enderman. And Sora has those Drive Forms from KH2.
I'd argue that Bayonetta should be Ghost/Fairy. She's a witch that uses lots of magic so fairy for sure. And she can see demons and angels and can travel to purgatory and basically become a... Ghost.
Yeah, and Shiek should also be ghost type. Shiek is sneaky and stealthy, like other ghost types, and is by no means evil (dark type is the evil type, afterall)
Robin should just be Psychic but has protean as their ability. Hell Psychic/Dragon or Electric/Dragon might even work because technically grima. (Actually Dark/Dragon makes more sense)

I definitely would put Joker under the "Dark" label, since every character in P5 has a sorta "elemental theme", with Joker's being the "Dark Element" Mudo aka Curse. From there, though...Joker has a lot of "Jack of All Trades" type gameplay, and he is also typically seen using a knife and gun...I'd put him down for "Dark/Normal".
he could even be normal type. not every dinosaur or reptilian ends up being a fossil or dragon type. Just look at kecleon, the reptilian starters, heliolisk, scraggy, sandile, etc. You have other dinosaur-like pokemon that don't have the rock typing either (Kangaskhan, lapras, technically any turtle, shark, and gator, wimpod). Plus with the fossilized pokemon, it's implied they're fully extinct until you revive them in a lab. Meanwhile, the Yoshi population is still intact. Yoshi attacks mostly using his regular body functions. Eggs, tongue, headbutts, (abnormally) high jumps, tail whips, so that makes me inclined to put him in either a pure normal typing, or into normal/dragon. Pure dragon would be my close third choice, because he looks a lot like a bagon.

He lost his ability to fly after Pandora came out of his wings and was revived. His ability to fly is given by Viridi in smash
Also there are plenty of flying-type Pokémon that fly without wings.

Well, Dark Pit isn't really evil. He helps Pit and Palutena when Pit's wings burn off, and he doesn't do anything nefarious from what I remember. Plus, he can fly by himself. He absorbed Pandora, gaining him the powers to fly. He's still a Dark type, but not pure dark. So, Dark Flying.
Not all Dark types are evil.

However, in the prologue, there is this kinda weird part where Robin says he can see the stats of the enemies (which is meant to explain why you get that information playing the game). If you can not only tell exactly how many people are behind a wall, but also how well-trained they are, what their strong and weak points are, what weapons and other items they are using, how fast they can walk and what special skills they have, I'm pretty certain you're a psychic.

I personally would give daisy a fairy grass typing. A lot of her attacks have some sort of, flower power. Peach just has the turnips, and maybe being the ruler of the toads, but Daisy has Flowers on a lot more attacks.

*Sidenote* : I know I left out some characters as I do not, repeat, do not have SSBU and I was going off of the moveset the SSB4 characters I listed had from the previous game and by memory. The few brand new characters I've listed, I've seen gameplay of them.

So uh I just realized Zacian is literally Link (The BOTW Version)
They have quite a bit of blue in their design

They have been protecting their land for 100s of years
The only difference is that Zacian is the elder sister of Zamazenta
Zacian AND Zamazenta, the Hylian Shield is a little bit less legendary than the sword of Evil's bane but the shield is able to deflect any and all attacks that it managed to delfect one of Galeem's beam attacks without chipping or melting.

Dark-Fire for Pig Ganon, Dark-Electric for Calamity Ganon, Plain Dark for Beast Ganon, and even though he technically doesn't belong on this list, Ghost-Electric for Phantom Ganon.

Funny thing: In Greninja's classic mode, he fights in Pokemon gym-esque battles.
1st gym: Fire - v/s Charizard and Bowser
2nd gym: Electric - v/s Pikachu, Pichu and Zero Suit Samus
3rd gym: Fighting - v/s Lucario, Ken and Ryu
4th gym: Grass - v/s Ivysaur (and probably Piranha Plant when it gets released)

So in a way those non-Pokémon characters have their types confirmed haha.
And, for those of you who are about to argue that "Piranha Plant in someone else's Classic Mode would require you to actually have it, and that would be impossible to implement", no it wouldn't. In both Smash 4 and Ultimate, buying a DLC character, stage or Mii costume doesn't add them to the game's code; that happened with the software update that came on its respective release date. Instead, you're just paying to UNLOCK the content.
I would love to see a follow up on this now that the fighter has been revealed. And would some of the alts be considered different types despite being the “same character”? Like, one of the Hero alts is half-angel, while another is half-dragon. Steve’s character slot also includes a zombie and an enderman. And Sora has those Drive Forms from KH2.

I definitely would put Joker under the "Dark" label, since every character in P5 has a sorta "elemental theme", with Joker's being the "Dark Element" Mudo aka Curse. From there, though...Joker has a lot of "Jack of All Trades" type gameplay, and he is also typically seen using a knife and gun...I'd put him down for "Dark/Normal".
I'd put him as a pure ghost as he's a Phantom Thief. Psychic might work as well given the nature of Personas.

he could even be normal type. not every dinosaur or reptilian ends up being a fossil or dragon type. Just look at kecleon, the reptilian starters, heliolisk, scraggy, sandile, etc. You have other dinosaur-like pokemon that don't have the rock typing either (Kangaskhan, lapras, technically any turtle, shark, and gator, wimpod). Plus with the fossilized pokemon, it's implied they're fully extinct until you revive them in a lab. Meanwhile, the Yoshi population is still intact.
Yoshi attacks mostly using his regular body functions. Eggs, tongue, headbutts, (abnormally) high jumps, tail whips, so that makes me inclined to put him in either a pure normal typing, or into normal/dragon. Pure dragon would be my close third choice, because he looks a lot like a bagon.
