I really like the new Revel Rail 29, both the geo and colour....Might well be the next bike I get. It hits all the spots! There's only 1 bike that competes for my attention with it, and that's the Nukeproof Mega 290 in the new Rossi red paintjob. 😋😍🤘 - GX or X01 drivetrain///
Rode it briefly at demo event last Sunday. Did not have a chance to really try it on a serious downhill, but it climbed really well. Not sure if it beats the Switchblade though. The red color is rad.
I just ordered forks from you guys. Lemme start by saying whoever i chatted with was AMAZING!! They helped me find the impossible..... a 29er quick release tapered head tube fork that was air. And had atleast 120mm of travel.
I would love to see you compare this to the Rascal. I’m looking to get a bigger bike and wondering if the Rail 29 will keep the fun factor that I love about the Rascal.
Rail 29 is shockingly similar to the Rascal just squishier. It’s still got that playful and fast feel to it. Having the same suspension platform is the key for all their bikes to feel really familiar. I’ve been riding the Ranger, Rascal and Rail 29 a lot and they’re super easy to switch back and forth on. Well designed line up no doubt. Hope that helps! - Jeff
@@WorldwideCyclery Thanks Jeff!! One more question. If someone is trying to decide to buy a Rascal vs. a Rail 29, how would you help them decide? And they could only buy one bike :-).
I have the exact same question and am in the exact same situation rinow - only need one & can only buy one: Rascal X01 build or Rail29 XO transmission build?
@@ericroutenberg8126 Hey Eric, I ended up buying the Rail29. It’s very much like the Rascal, but a little less poppy and a little more squishy. If you ride in a place that leans towards enduro and bigger hits, go with the Rail. If it’s more trail riding the Rascal can’t be beat. Good luck! Either way you won’t be upset.
@@TheVantasticLife Thx man, that’s solid advice. Unfortunately I live and ride in terrain that clearly screams Rascal territory (Midwest), but my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I aspire to the longer travel, more modern geo and UDH of the Rail29. That rig will be completely overbiking for me and where I ride, but at least I can grow into it and it’s much more future-proofed than the V1 Rascal, imo. What do you think? If you were gonna spend about $6000 on a Revel, would you get a 2023 Rail 29 with XO Trans build and its longer travel and more modern geo, vs. the three year old Rascal design that’s non-UDH in an X01 mech build that you’d want to put GXAXS wireless on anyway. Extra context: I’m coming off 2 1/2 years on a 140/130 Canyon Neuron CF7 mech GX build - - pretty XC/trail, dated geo, etc.
It sits on the more mainstream and conservative side of Geo in comparison with Transition, Evil and some of the other similar brands. There’s nothing wrong with SB 157 but it’s true it puts it into another possible issue with matching compatible parts.
Geo seems almost conservative. Interesting to see for a brand new bike, but I'm sure many many people will be stoked about it! I'm interested to see how long companies go down the low and slack route before they turn back, this comment probably won't age well but I really can't see enduro bikes going sub 62.5, dh bikes going sub 62, and xc/trail bikes going sub 63.5
They were conservative with the Ranger as well. They seem to aim more for the all-around performance rather than just pointed downhill, which should be good for a lot if not most. Not as sexy of a selling point though. I agree on geo. The 65 degree “downcountry” bikes seemed to hit or pass the ideal but we will see. I just watched a Vorsprung video recently from a couple years ago and he was already talking about that saying he preferred the Deviant over some of the longer/slacker bikes because they are harder to turn. Great for pointing straight though. But since that video nothing has slowed down in the longer/slacker trend.
That would be the Park Tool PRS-4W-2 Professional Wall Mount Stand and 100-3D Clamp! Park Tool MPN is PRS-4W-2 - Out of stock on our site at the moment but ETA for us is early April. :)
Pivot only initially created it for 27.5+, so it was never meant to be anything more than that, and some companies ran w/ it, but everyone seems to be ditching it now.
looks cool, but the artifically extended shock shaft does not fare well for longevity, but the non trunion mount for the shock body is good for lateral flex. it also does not have iscg mounts for bash guards and chain guides. I see that it does come with mounts for a proprietary chain guide, but not having iscg 5 mounts on an enduro bike is a deal breaker for me, on an xc or trail bike I would not care. The shock sizing is a common size so it will be easy to find replacements, that and it comes with the 73mm threaded BB for easy parking lot serviceability. In the looks department it is one of the best looking bikes I have seen. The bike seems to be perfect for pedaling up long enduro stages, and decends good as well. This bike is on the more pedaling focused side of enduro, and not just a pedalable downhill bike.
After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
This compares in travel and geo exactly to yesterdays La Sal Peak 1.0 and in todays classification is All Mountain. The new La Sal Peak 2.0 jumped up to proper Enduro spec of tomorrow.
Wow! Highly disappointed 2yrs with no updates to the rail except for new colors and this is what they decide to give us, a run of the mill 29er. I wish they would have just introduced this bike as new model instead of a rail update. As a current rail owner the most exiting thing about this update is the iscg tabs, frame bearing update and sram udh, revels hangers always seem to be on back order when I need one. Changing the rail to a 29er I wish they had went the 2022 Orbea rallon route, option to run mullet and lots of adjustability.
Hate to be that guy, but id say "long travel" in peoples eyes nowadays doesnt really mean 160/155. 160 is more of a playful enduro / huckable trail bike nowadays. It's a really nice machine nonetheless.
was gonna say the same, my Nomad being 170 is long travel and some other bikes with 180 as well, 155 more like a bike that doesnt know whether its a trail or enduro rig
Reach is short for what is standard today. That being said it's one of the few bikes I've seen with a 495mm (494mm) reach at XL. I believe that's my goldilocks zone for reach 490-495. I would buy this bike in XT. If the price of the bike in USD was the CAD price.

So does it feel like a Ranger on the descents but with more travel and more plush? I'm building up a long travel enduro but I haven't decided on which frame I'll go with. I can ride my friend's Ranger to get a feel for it.
