in a way mich, this cartoon describes what happens when artists sign to labels. they go from being music artists to looking like "cartoons" of their former selves. The kidd video series was , in a way, a glimpse into what happens when an artist signs their talent away on the dotted line.
Unbelievable. I was driving and “tainted love” came on. After more than 30 yrs it all the sudden came rushing back! I had to Google it. “80’s show where band turns into cartoon”. It popped right up and here I am 15 mins later. And they say time machines don’t exist…I’m there all over again
I use to like this cartoon back in the 80, especially when they had music videos that break away from the cartoon for a quick minute or so. I was sad they cancled the show. They should put this one on DVD or even a bootleg.
I am sooooooooo glad i have all of these on dvd uncut & got the album (rare find) here in my collection. I might just start loading the episodes and the album versions of the tracks on youtube.
I will ALWAYS love this cartoon! And especially the music man! I remember how rad it felt to watch this show....when I was a kid. Before like every ones negativity haha. Hey, I wanna join this band man!
I remember this show very well. I even remember writing to them & getting an autographed picture. I always thought Gabrielle was so pretty & Bryan was a dreamboat.
I also remember seeing him in an episode of Knight Rider (the 1980's version, not the shit remake from the 2000's) as well. Pretty sure it was either right before or during KV.
I'll admit to watching this in the 80's. It's so funny to look back at stuff from the past-corny! Anyway am I the only one who thought Master Blaster looks like Eddie Arcadian from The Last Dragon movie? The 80's & 90's were pretty cool & funny at the same time with lots of interesting memories....
This was one of the few reasons why I enjoy waking up early on Saturday morning, of course, most of my friends never like them but I did. I wonder what they are doing now. Thank you for adding these.
LOL! @ 14:40 Noam Kaniel, same dude who did the theme for Power Rangers Samurai! With Saban's name up there as well. And another trivia tidbit : Carla originated the phrase "Ai yi yi!" before Alpha 5 did! They should have done a "Power Rangers"-like concept for this show with live-action instead of a cartoon, lol! But I love this show,I miss it! Thank you! :)
Carla's songs are my favorites! Turn Me Up is legit one of my favorite songs of all time, and I actually think their version of It's Over When The Phone Stops Ringing is a lot better than the real song they covered it from.
Wow!! Thanks for posting this video!! I'm in my 40s and remember watching this show Saturday mornings along w/the regular awesome cartoon lineup!! Great going down memory lane.. 😃
mich , in a way, the kidd video series made a commentary on the real music scene, especially then. When artists sign their names on dotted lines, they become "cartoons". of their former selves. They go to flidside (L.A.) where they have to deal with copycats (tribute bands).
Call me crazy but I remember them also doing the full version of Video to Radio on American Bandstand (I think, or it was a similar show) before the cartoon was on in the fall of 1984 as some sort of promo.
@mst3k4evr 80's in all its glory I had the same hairstyle as this girl & the girl from the Thriller video when I was in 6-7th grade. This cartoon and Soul Train made my Saturday mornings as a I kid ;-)
I like the think that when the brady's left to start a variety show, cousin ollie started goung to the california party scene and joined this band while coked up one night
In October on the 26th I’ll be turning 50, but like I posted many times already on the internet they need to start getting these 1980’s cartoons out on Blu-ray already! Because if they don’t we are still the lost generation that had it good 👍🏻 when it came to those cartoons! Wake up movie and cartoon industry! We’re not dead ☠️ yet!😡😥we want to also pass on the torch to the next generation as well!
I very highly agree with Byron about the great Danny devito portraying the main villain of this cartoon from my childhood.i mean being an original viewer at three years old.
They have yet to get these 80’s cartoons out on Blu-ray! It’s a absolute disgrace that they are ignoring the kids of the 1980’s especially the preteens 😔😥
I've got an .mp3 of the full length 3:32 version of the theme song that I found YEARS ago on some .mp3 sharing program... probably on the original Napster, it was so long ago! It was apparently ripped from an Israeli Kidd Video album. I guess Kidd Video was just really popular in Israel?
@theoriginalmistajonz Hee hee glad someone out there confirmed that I wasn't crazy for seeing the resemblance! I now feel validated that you share the same thought ;-)
I am hoping and praying that someone can bring those four people together someday. It would be great to see them perform again on stage together or at least talk to one another by remaining in contact. Communication is very important in life.
Growing up in 1980, was myself being born into the decade of big hair, tacky fashion and different types of music until Kidd Video came into the scene of Saturday morning cartoon lineup on NBC (ding, ding ding) at Sept 1984.
@MitchZer0II Wow what were they smoking when they created this cartoon?! That's some crazy stuff for young minds back then-good thing I have a bad memory for specific details. As an adult this almost gives me the creeps haa haa.
I'm 50 and loved this show as a teen. Since vinyl is back I wanted to get the lp and finally obtained a copy of the soundtrack from Israel
Didn't know they had a vinyl records.
Just turned 48 😰
@@kennethdemuchest3985 They had a license issue and weren't available in the USA.
@@X7393 I'll be 47 2 weeks into next month. I had such a crush on Bryan Scott. 😘😘😘
47.. and yes

That and how they fizzle out snd never get popular again
Watched this every Saturday morning. Catch you on the Flip Side!
The 80est cartoon ever

Hey, I wanna join this band man!
Barely adolescent me was so in love with Carla lol...but Robby Rist was probably the best musician in this band
Oh man, this is one of my all time favorite shows!
WE COUNTING ALL THE SHEEP IN THE SKY WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🧊🧊🧊🗣️🗣️
80's Stroke!!
The big hair, the outfits, the voices, the SCORE!!
video romeo ftw
God how I miss the carefree and happy simplicity of my youth. I LOVED this cartoon when I was small.
Me too.
The "Come back to me" song is missing. Good collection. I watched this cartoon in the early 90s (here in Italy). Great Kidd Video! 😊
So everyone else is waking up for rehearsal and the lead singer gets up and just goes YEAHH fist pump.
I was addicted to this show
I remember this show very well. I even remember writing to them & getting an autographed picture. I always thought Gabrielle was so pretty & Bryan was a dreamboat.
"Cousin Oliver" was played by Robbie Rist, Whiz in Kidd Video and also the voice of Michaelangelo in the TMNT Movies from early 1990s
Mr. Rist also voices Choji Akimichi in the English dub of Naruto
@@BryonYoungblood Robbie Rist was already in his twenties when on Kidd Video!
And there was actually a Soundtrack album released in Israel Only!!
@@martymcfly5434 I'm going by character names here, Carla was the oldest at 22 , then Ash 21 , Whiz 20(cousin Oliver) and Kidd 19 in 1984. :)
I also remember seeing him in an episode of Knight Rider (the 1980's version, not the shit remake from the 2000's) as well. Pretty sure it was either right before or during KV.
Though it is a co-production with DiC, this was Saban's first cartoon they produced.
My big sister watched this non stop 😮 this definitely was a classic!

I always thought Kidd Video were the precursor of the image-conscious music video age. Sounded appropriate for a young crowd on Saturday mornings.
6:22 KIDD VIDEO's Version of The Pointer Sisters' AUTOMATIC!

I knew I wasn't crazy this show existed, im glad!
excellent video sadly because the way the music biz is now a show like this could never happen again :(
I used to sing this song with my big sister still remember it to this day! “Video Romano” Classic!
So happy I got to live in that generation where we could actually play outside and not be glued to a phone ignoring everything around.
I liked this cartoon series especially in the early 80’s!
"20,000 lines of resolution" It's 2020 and we're finally halfway there!

I had such a MAJOR crush on this show (....and the singer 😅)
Sang these songs every Saturday morning before chores cuz Kidd video came on at noon
WKYC Channel 3 was our NBC affiliate in Cleveland back in the day I loved the Chipmunks and Mr. T. was my stuff along with Kidd Video
Oh yeah, I forgot that KV did a nice Pointer Sisters cover.
If only MTV could’ve seen all this.

This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Seriously needs to be released.

This is 80’s at its best these are masterpiece’s appreciate what you’re seeing and listening too ❤❤❤
So 80s it hurts.
Yes . But it hurts in a very way. It makes me want to go back to the 80s and relive what it was like back then .

I loved this cartoon
I miss this cartoon. NBC was awesome for catchy stuff
BIG THANKS, LOVED IT ❤
Reminds me of waking up to Saturday Morning Cartoon’s!
questi sì che erano cantanti e facevano delle belle canzoni io da bambino le ascoltavo parecchi negli anni 1984-1985!?
Back in 1984 "Kidd Video" debuted on NBC and lasted two seasons. Later in 1987 it was re-run on CBS!
Favorite cartoon probably ever! But this was the 80’s just like the rest of the cartoons of the 80’s favorite 🤩

Anyone else think Danny Devito would be PERFECT to play Blaster Master if Kidd Video EVER got made into a live-action movie somehow for some raisins??
Actually Christoper Murney, the bad guy from the Last Dragon (Eddie Arcadian) would have been perfect If this were made into a movie back in the 80’s.
@LVdude Plus Rum Ham
Or Jason Alexander from Seinfeld.
@@antwaunjohnson4166 Ha! That's a brilliant idea.

I like the one called time, song by Bryan Scott who plays kidd video
Someone has to bug that company DIC to get this cartoon out on Blu-ray! It’s right now exclusive to Israel 🇮🇱 unfortunately sad 😔

Epically cheesy! :D They're not as horrified as they should be that a wormhole to the astral plane has opened up in somebody's warehouse!
OMG i still remember the lyrics after all this time
