I love that you test these units, especially the non- Android ones. I purchased the Ousmin A8 Pro based on your review but have not installed it in my vehicle yet. Wondering how this compares to this one? I still have a collection of CDs which the Ousmin does not play. I like the fact that I can use my phone as the software base and not rely on the Android head unit. Curious to to hear your opinion on the two units. Thanks for the reviews!
Thanks for the great video! One thing I wonder is if you can still play CD while having CarPlay connected? I’ve been looking for a similar unit, and being able to play CD is kinda a deal breaker for me 😅
Great video thank you for posting this.I just bought the exact same unit.. Just wondering if you by any chance would happen to know is there a way to put Maps on this unit without having to use your phone to plug it in?
Nice review of what seems like a nice unit. Do you know the Pre-out voltage? Also, could you look into the Power Acoustic CPAA-70M? It seems to be very similar in features and quality but does not play CD\DVD's.
I got an identical unit from another brand, but when plugged into an amplifier it makes a loud ringing noise through the speakers. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have a slightly different model. I'm wondering if I'm able to use the micro SD card as a source for music. Is the USB only for phone interface, or can I plug a USB stick or external drive in and use it for music? The instruction book doesn't specifically address the functionality of the micro SD card at all, and only talks about the USB port as it pertains to connecting to a phone, but doesn't even say that is its only function.
@@SaabUnleashed thanks for the reply. I'm looking for double din that has a CD player and back up cam, but the options seem limited. I'd love for it to have a big screen (10+), and fast processer (4bg), etc. But don't know if there's anything out there like that. Any tips??
@@taylorbarrett384 You won't find something like that with an optical drive. Physical media is dead. Is there a particular reason why you must have a CD player?
@@taylorbarrett384 well you're very limited then. Internet connectivity is not a deal breaker, Spotify, for example, allows you to download all your music onto the head unit, so no connection is required after the initial download. You could always digitise your CDs to mp3s
Not that it matters but is it one of those useless DVD players that makes you plug it into the parking break? Not that I would use it regardless. I just like having a CD player as an excuse to play my many CDs in order to justify their existence. They also tend to sound better than mp3s and I don't use phone data services. I am looking for something like this that actually sounds better than a Boss head unit. I wasn't impressed by those at all. Also is it easy to navigate songs on an SD card, and can it shuffle multiple directories? The Boss could only shuffle within a directory and the navigation was janky.
You know what's bothering me with these devices: how badly native Android apps are optimised for use, inside a car. Android Auto does it perfectly.... And yes you can buy an expensive device, but it's the same as with Android tablets. Almost all apps are developed for use on a smartphone, that's why you get this crippled experience when you run Android apps on a head-unit. Now I have my Android head-unit setup, that it will automatically connect to Android Auto when I connect the USB. Because I want as less distraction as possible. I actually think non Android head-units, might be better when they handle there tasks well. The Android head-units are full of bugs. Some of which already exists for years.
@@SaabUnleashed our kids are always watching DVDs and we have hundreds of them. Gonna be around for a while, like it or not. RUclips doesn't work on Android Auto anymore.
When you plug the usb in from phone does it charge up the phone
Not a big fan of the UI, but the unit actually looks really good.

Does Android auto charge your phone while it's plugged in? And does this have an option for a back up cam?
Yes it charges your phone but not fast charge. It does have a reverse camera option

As usual, it's in the video description
Can this go into an 08 Saab 9-5?
It's a double din, it can go in anything

No. The system has a setting built in to turn off the parking brake check.

I think it's probably more for the CD player, but the same question applies
